Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!-Chapter 77: How Could Vivian Nash Not Be Anxious?
Suddenly, Sienna Monroe’s heart seemed to plunge into an icy abyss.
No need to guess.
Why did Vivian Nash lure Caleb Sinclair there at this time?
Since Caleb and she broke up, it’s been so many days, and though they have reconciled, Vivian still hasn’t been able to see him.
So, how could Vivian not be anxious?
And now she’s still "pregnant," with Caleb being at such a vigorous age.
How fiery would their night be?
Sienna clenched her fists, her stiff back slowly relaxing, calming her uneven breathing, and let out a low laugh.
Either contemptuous or mocking.
She scrolled through her contacts for a private detective she had previously collaborated with, telling him Caleb would be heading to Rippling Crest Estates soon.
The private detective understood what to do upon hearing that.
Before long, the door was knocked.
She walked over and opened the door, seeing Caleb standing there with a cup of hot milk, his eyes under the glasses still looking deeply tender.
With a smile on his face, "Honey, I have to go to the office temporarily. The milk is already warmed up. Wash up and go to bed early, I’ll make shrimp dumplings for you tomorrow morning."
Sienna took the cup, feeling that the emotion in his eyes was somewhat glaring.
But she didn’t look away, she inhaled lightly, showing worry as she asked, "Is it that email issue again? Is it serious?"
"I’ll have to go there to find out. Don’t worry, I’ll handle it."
"Okay."
Watching his figure disappear at the staircase, Sienna’s eyes clouded with a layer of frost, she tugged at the corner of her lips, turned around, and closed the door.
Rippling Crest Estates.
Since receiving Caleb’s return call, Vivian Nash stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing expectantly towards the villa gate.
Caleb seldom visits Rippling Crest Estates and usually doesn’t spend the night here.
So, each time he comes, his car is parked outside the community, luckily Vivian’s villa is close to the main gate.
She calculated the time, it’s about a thirty-five-minute drive from Caleb’s residential area to here, not during rush hour, at most it should be forty minutes.
But she waited anxiously, second by second, and even after an hour, Caleb was nowhere to be seen.
As she was contemplating whether to call Caleb again, a familiar figure approached from outside the yard.
She was delighted, quickly turned, and hurried downstairs.
As Caleb entered the house, she called out "Honey," leaping directly onto him, her fair and slender arms wrapped around his neck.
Caleb held her tight instinctively, the fresh and pleasant scent of roses from her enveloping his nose.
He was momentarily dazed, but Vivian tiptoed to plant a kiss on his lips, her voice coquettish, "I thought you wouldn’t come, making me wait for so long."
Caleb glanced down and met a pair of clear and beautiful phoenix eyes, sparkling and pure like a lake.
His heart stirred, holding her waist with a firm grip, his voice huskier, "Did you check?"
"I did, upstairs, but I don’t dare to look at the result, a bit scared..."
Caleb led her upstairs.
Vivian had tested with three pregnancy sticks; seeing each with a single line, he couldn’t tell if he felt relieved or some other emotion.
Upon hearing her mention her period hasn’t come this month, he was surprised and slightly forlorn.
If Vivian were pregnant, what should he do?
Terminate it, or let her keep it?
He envisaged each outcome, but coming to Rippling Crest Estates, he also couldn’t decide.
Vivian was standing beside, observing his facial expressions but discerning no anomalies, her heart beating fast; if she were pregnant, would he accept?
She silently bit her lip, regardless of his acceptance, she must conceive this child.
Thinking thus, she hugged Caleb from behind, speaking softly, "Luckily I’m not pregnant, perhaps stress has disrupted my cycle. Honey, I’m really afraid you don’t want me..."
Caleb turned hearing her, looking at Vivian’s slender, vulnerable figure, her pitiful demeanor, swallowing hard.
He pulled her into his embrace, wordlessly pinching her chin, and bowed down for a kiss.
While Rippling Crest Estates was ablaze with passion, after Sienna finished showering and drying her hair, she received over ten photos sent by the private detective.
The first few were of Caleb getting out of the car and entering Rippling Crest Estates, along with a three to four-second video clip.
But seeing the latter, she noticed the background had transitioned to inside the community.
Even the last had a four to five-second video, not the clearest in quality.
Yet clear enough to discern two people passionately kissing by the floor-to-ceiling window whilst closing curtains. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
The room was brightly lit, though somewhat blurry, pausing and zooming in could reveal their outlines.
As expected.
Sienna tugged at her lips, though knowing what he went there for, a sharp pain still crept into her heart followed by intense nausea.
She rushed to the bathroom, vomiting out the ribs, rice cake, baked pancake, and chicken fat roll she had reluctantly eaten tonight.
She washed her face with cold water, slowly lifted her head, gazing at her slightly haggard reflection in the mirror.
After a while, she suppressed the emotion, grabbed a cleansing cloth to dry her face and laid down by the bed, trying to dispel the video eroding her mind.
For her, it was still a sleepless night.
Around 2:30 AM, she vaguely heard the sound of an engine from downstairs.
Knowing Caleb was back.
Before long, the door softly twisted open, a faint light from the hallway folded into the room, though footsteps weren’t heard, she sensed someone standing by the bed.
She didn’t open her eyes, but the scent of rose body wash lingered at her nose.
Her stomach churned again, she resisted, turning naturally.
These days with separate rooms, Caleb didn’t dare enter the master bedroom of his own accord, even standing at the door when delivering hot milk at night.
Caleb didn’t want to awaken her, watched her sleeping feature for a while, quietly dispelling some of the guilt in his heart before turning and exiting the room.
Sienna didn’t know how she fell asleep.
Upon waking, it was already 9:30 AM.
It was rare for Caleb to not have left by then, seeing her come down, he quickly asked Auntie Miller to bring over the kept warm breakfast.
"Sleep poorly last night? You look so tired," Caleb asked with a furrowed brow, heart aching.
"Had a bad dream last night." She gazed at him, eyes unwavering, seemingly wanting to see guilt or panic on his face.
Calmly, she added, "Dreamt you cheated, with Vivian."
But Caleb’s mental resilience was better than she imagined, his hand scooping porridge paused just a heartbeat, then he chuckled and sighed, "Me? Cheat with Vivian? Hmm?"
"They say pregnant women think a lot, love to overthink, turns out that’s quite true."
He placed the porridge before her, dotingly tapped her nose, "Look how you’ve exhausted yourself, if you aren’t distressed, I feel it for you."
