Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!-Chapter 57: How Did She Know?
Sienna Monroe took a taxi from Arbor Road, her journey smooth and unimpeded. As she arrived at Vantage Parking Garage, she heard commotion nearby.
It’s already 8:17 PM. Sebastian Prescott must have arrived at the parking garage and met that person.
The two bodyguards should be there as well, but the exact situation on-site was uncertain.
She walked quickly over and happened to see Sebastian wearing a black shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Even under the dim streetlight, his sharply defined muscles were visible.
With broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long, straight legs wrapped in suit pants, he was both well-proportioned and trim.
A slightly brawny, stocky man was being held down by two bodyguards, Peter Caldwell and Wyatt Ward.
Sebastian took off the man’s hood, revealing his face. His expression darkened at once and, before he could speak, a sound of footsteps was heard.
Turning his head, he saw Sienna approaching hastily.
"How is it? None of you got hurt, right?" she asked.
Peter and Wyatt had slight signs of scuffle on them. They shook their heads, "No. We arrived just in time to see Lawyer Prescott fighting with this guy, so we came over to help out."
"This bastard’s got quite the strength," Wyatt commented as he flexed his slightly sore knuckles.
Sienna glanced sideways at Sebastian, thinking there must have been quite a struggle earlier. His shirt showed obvious signs of being heavily wrinkled and was noticeably disheveled.
On the ground lay a black suit jacket, appearing as though it had been stomped on countless times.
"And you?"
Sebastian cast a dark gaze at her, his emotions unreadable, "Are they your people?"
Sienna readily admitted, without much explanation, "Yes. Do you know him?"
"Yes."
Sebastian coldly glanced at the man on the ground and asked in a stern voice, "You’ve only been out for a few days? Weren’t you inside long enough?"
The man let out a rough, cold laugh, glaring at him with hatred, "Who do you think I have to thank for this state of mine? Isn’t it all because of you? I trusted you so much back then. I’d risk my life to take you down!"
As he said this, he struggled, baring his teeth, trying to rush at Sebastian.
Still, it took Peter and Wyatt great effort to hold him firmly to the ground, "You better behave! Try anything again, and I’ll cripple you!"
Sebastian didn’t even bat an eyelid, looking at him with cold disdain.
"The police station isn’t far from here, I’ll call the cops first to avoid any further trouble."
With that, he took out his phone and called the police.
Sebastian turned back and bent down to pick up the watch that had fallen during the fight. The watch face was cracked, and the hands for hours, minutes, and seconds were frozen in place.
He didn’t pay much attention to it, planning to pick up the suit jacket on the ground, but paused for a moment.
He didn’t intend to keep the jacket either, yet picked it up, preparing to throw it away.
The car tire had a nail in it, and in such a short time, all the air had leaked out.
He frowned deeply, his peripheral vision catching Sienna who had finished her call to the police, a look of curiosity and inquiry in his eyes.
In truth, had those two bodyguards not arrived just in time, even if he could win against Quentin Miller, it’s hard to say how severe his injuries might have been.
After all, Quentin was out for a life-and-death struggle.
But how did she know in advance that there would be an ambush here, waiting to retaliate against him, especially since she didn’t even know Quentin?
He couldn’t help but recall the last dinner, when she called and told him Marcus Jennings had drugged his drink.
She hadn’t even entered the private room back then.
Sebastian didn’t ponder long, as the police station was just on the next street. In a matter of minutes, a group of six or seven officers arrived, cuffing Quentin and asking for his name.
Quentin, who had been hurling curses at Sebastian, suddenly clammed up, refusing to speak no matter what questions the officers posed.
Eventually, Sebastian provided them with Quentin’s basic information.
years old, a native of Silverfall City. Five years ago, he was imprisoned for pimping. Although he was a critical figure in the case, he wasn’t involved in the transactions, operations, management, or introductions.
He was merely an acquaintance responsible for transportation and protecting clients and women.
Due to good behavior in prison, he was released just last Thursday.
Sebastian was commissioned to handle this case, so he deliberately got acquainted with Quentin, winning his trust. Half a month later, when he’d gathered enough evidence, their prostitution ring was busted.
Once informed about the situation, the officers’ expressions were grave, intending to take them all to the station for statements.
Especially since Sebastian was the victim.
Sebastian glanced at Sienna, pointing at Peter and Wyatt, "Let them go to confirm the details, you head back."
He paused for two seconds, looking into her eyes, "Thank you."
Sienna gently shook her head, seeing that he was out of danger, she indeed didn’t plan to stay, and said to Peter and Wyatt, "Thank you for your hard work." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"It’s no trouble. We get paid to protect you, it’s our duty."
The two of them were good like that, never asking unnecessary questions.
After a brief exchange, they asked Sebastian, "Lawyer Prescott, are you coming with us or...?"
Sebastian was quite well-known in the area, it was hard not to recognize him.
"Together." Sebastian asked Sienna, "Did you drive here, or take a taxi?"
"I took a taxi."
Sebastian nodded, deciding to hail a cab for Sienna by the roadside.
The officers had already taken Quentin away first, and Peter and Wyatt were about to follow.
Sebastian didn’t move, but instead turned to Sienna, noting her beautiful, bright oval face, which appeared delicate and fair even under the dim streetlight.
Just as he was about to ask how she knew there would be danger here, Sienna’s pupils filled with shock, and in her irises was the reflection of a tall, thin man in black.
She shouted, "Watch out!"
In a flash of lightning and thunder, the man held a bottle of transparent liquid, uncapped it, and splashed it directly at Sebastian.
