Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!-Chapter 213: Claire Grant Falls Unconscious
"Thank you."
Sienna Monroe took a sip from her cup. The initial taste of the red tea was slightly astringent and bitter, but as it slid down her throat, it became somewhat gentle.
As if it was soothing her restless heart.
Sebastian Prescott cleared his throat slightly and slowly spoke, "Once Vivian Nash returns everything, I will, in the capacity of your attorney, contact Caleb Sinclair’s attorney to negotiate the property distribution."
He paused, his gaze slowly settling on her exquisite and beautiful face.
"Before that, I’d like to hear your thoughts on the distribution of this property."
Hearing this, Sienna Monroe put down her teacup.
Her lips, covered in velvet lipstick, moved slightly, carrying a hint of sarcasm.
"These... all were gifts he gave to Vivian Nash behind my back, and now I’ve worked so hard to get them back. How can he have the nerve to enjoy them?"
Sebastian Prescott’s lips curled into a slight smile.
But the amusement in his eyes was evident.
"I understand. I’ll draft a clause for you to review at that time."
"Okay, thank you."
After eating, Sienna drove Sebastian to the law firm and then returned to the art gallery herself.
The collaboration with Claire Grant was in full swing at the gallery.
Around three in the afternoon, they began the initial discussion and orientation for the planning.
Today, Claire Grant was once again wearing a soft satin cheongsam, with a design featuring three pearl buttons in water blue, edged with a crescent white trim at the waist, outlining her figure with two elegantly curved lines.
The slit at the hem was embroidered with silver thread patterns, sparsely depicting a few branches of plum blossoms.
Her short hair was styled up, adorned with a jade plum blossom hairpin.
Her delicate and gentle features were soft and beautiful.
The two greeted each other and then began discussing the planning issues in the reception room.
From the conversation, it was clear that Claire Grant was someone with opinions and ideas. She would politely point out if she wasn’t satisfied with some of the curatorial team’s ideas.
When all the details were discussed, it was already half past five.
As they exited the reception room, Claire Grant looked at the graceful and serene woman in front of her and smiled warmly.
"Director Monroe, last time, I still owe you a meal. I wonder if I have the chance to make it up to you tonight?"
Hearing this, Sienna Monroe looked at her sideways.
She recalled the minor conflict they had at the closing ceremony.
It wasn’t really necessary.
But since they were already collaborating, there was no need to offend the other side.
She smiled gently and nodded, saying, "Miss Ivy, you needn’t be so formal. I didn’t take what happened last time to heart. Since Miss Ivy is sincerely inviting, it would be my pleasure to accept."
After speaking, Sienna explained a few things to Nora Joyce and Director Dawson.
She then returned to her office, quickly tidied up her things, grabbed her bag and coat, and discussed with Claire Grant the dinner location as they walked toward the parking lot.
Claire Grant’s driver had dropped her off at the gallery in the afternoon and left.
Once they decided, Claire got into Sienna’s car, and they headed to Stillwater Street together.
This wasn’t their first meal together.
The meal was exceptionally harmonious, and besides topics related to the art exhibition, they also talked about some interesting stories. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
They were chatting and laughing.
It was like old friends reuniting for a meal after many days.
However, this harmonious and peaceful moment ended when Claire suddenly clutched her stomach, slowly bending over, her delicate and pretty face instantly turning pale with pain.
Sienna noticed, quickly set down her chopsticks, and walked over to her, "Miss Grant, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Claire pressed her lips together, her voice somewhat weak, "I... I... suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable in my heart, and my stomach... it hurts..."
Sienna was surprised.
She had only heard from Sebastian that Claire had poor health since she was young, but she didn’t know the specifics of any illnesses.
Seeing her like this now, she definitely couldn’t just stand by.
She immediately and calmly took out her phone and dialed the emergency number 120.
Fortunately, they were not far from Delmore University Hospital.
In a matter of minutes, the ambulance arrived, and she accompanied them in the ambulance.
The doctor asked about Claire’s past medical conditions.
Naturally, Sienna couldn’t answer, but fortunately, Claire was still conscious and could barely respond to some questions.
Congenital heart disease.
Leukemia.
And gastrointestinal weakness.
These medical terms not only surprised the doctor and nurse accompanying them but also shocked Sienna.
She indeed didn’t know Claire well; she only knew that she was a premature baby and had a weak constitution since childhood.
Unexpectedly...
Upon arrival at the hospital, the doctors she had notified on the phone met up with them and quickly pushed Claire into the emergency room.
With her eyes half-closed, Claire had a pained expression, and her consciousness was slowly fading.
Looking at the increasingly blurred figure of Sienna, her pink lips moved slightly, seemingly curving into a faint smile.
She tried to slowly raise her hand and murmured, "Sebastian... call him for me..."
Unfortunately, before she could finish, she fell completely unconscious.
And that sentence was not heard clearly by Sienna as it was overwhelmed by the voice of the emergency department doctors.
Due to this sudden incident, Sienna also became somewhat nervous.
After the doctors asked her some questions without success, she didn’t hesitate and directly called Sebastian.
She didn’t have any contact information for anyone in The Grant Family who could be related to Claire.
There was only Sebastian.
The call was quickly answered, but before the familiar deep male voice could be heard through the receiver,
she spoke first, "Sebastian, Claire is unconscious and is in the emergency room of Delmore University Hospital in Imperial City.
I don’t have contact information for her family members, so please call her parents or relatives."
On the other end, Sebastian was quite surprised but didn’t waste time or question her, "Okay, I’ll call her parents now. Don’t worry, it’s Delmore University Hospital, right? I’ll come right away."
After hanging up, Sienna still didn’t feel relaxed.
Her expression was tense as she pressed her lips together.
As she looked up, she unexpectedly saw a tall figure in a white medical coat and with a medical mask hurriedly walking over.
Their eyes met from about six or seven meters apart.
It was only a few seconds before a nurse called out, "Professor Fuller, please come quickly."
The man’s eyes didn’t linger on Sienna but quickly moved into the emergency department’s intensive care unit.
Sienna didn’t pay much attention to this stare.
After all, there were plenty of people in white coats in the hospital.
Her heart, however, involuntarily tightened up, and her brows furrowed.
In no time, she saw two or three middle-aged doctors going in as well.
Claire... she...
She wouldn’t have any problems, would she?
Not to mention their collaboration at the gallery, but just the fact that they were having dinner together, if anything happened to Claire, she feared she’d be implicated.
She raised her hand to lightly rub her temple.
Thinking now would be too late for any second thoughts.
Thankfully, Sebastian didn’t keep her waiting long, and he arrived in about twenty minutes.
Sebastian quickly walked to her side, his deep eyes filled with a clear concern, "How are you? Are you alright?"
Sienna’s complexion was still quite good at this moment, showing no signs of panic or confusion, her gaze still calm and natural.
It was just that her jawline was tense.
She gently responded, "Mm, I’m fine."
Seeing this, Sebastian still offered some reassurance, "I’ve already contacted her family; they are on their way."
Sienna looked at him and asked, "It takes about two hours to come from Westwood, right?"
Sebastian glanced at the time on his watch, "Her sister is in Southcroft and will be here first; she should arrive soon."
Sienna nodded slightly.
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes."
Upon finishing, Sienna recounted the situation of Claire’s illness to him, not leaving out what dishes they ordered at dinner.
Sebastian immediately understood her concerns, "Don’t worry, this has nothing to do with you. Why don’t you head back now? I’ll take care of things here."
Sienna politely declined, "No need, I’ll wait for the results as well, so I can feel at ease."
Hearing this, Sebastian didn’t say much more, and stayed with her quietly waiting outside.
