Gun of Ashes-Chapter 810 - 47: Sparring
There wasn't much time left for Red Falcon to think, and during this precious moment, he didn't say anything useful but instead burst out swearing.
"You're actually doing it!"
Red Falcon was all too familiar with that shotgun. Although it was a new replica, in his memory, a gun of this model had shattered countless Demons to pieces. What's more intriguing was that you could never know what kind of ammunition that lunatic Lorenzo loaded inside it.
It could be a Deer Bullet, or a Dragon Breath Bullet, but whatever was loaded, at this distance, if it hit him, he likely wouldn't escape death.
"Sorry!"
Erin said finally, pulling the trigger, and the force knocked Erin backward.
After the gunshot, the bullet sprayed forward, shattering the things in front of it. The table was overturned, and dust rose from the walls.
Under the immense recoil, Erin nearly fell over. Despite all the preparations made, it still turned out like this. Erin couldn't imagine how Lorenzo managed to handle this weapon.
Due to the interference from that final recoil, she missed. Her gaze turned forward again, but she had already lost track of Red Falcon. Only a small amount of blood was on the ground, indicating that Red Falcon moved quickly.
Her eyes scanned the room; it wasn't large, and there weren't many places for Red Falcon to hide. Erin quickly looked behind the wardrobe.
"Moon! Are you still alive?"
She asked again.
Behind the wardrobe, Red Falcon was crouched in the corner. Now Erin was holding that deadly weapon and the backup weapons inside the cello case, while he only had a fruit knife, a damn fruit knife.
Why doesn't Lorenzo lock his case! 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Red Falcon cursed in his heart.
Just like how people blame everything when they're down on their luck, at this point, Red Falcon could only vent his anger on Lorenzo.
But no matter how much he cursed, it seemed it did nothing to change the fact that he was going to get killed; his heart pounded intensely, and all around an eerie silence fell.
Not good!
It was too quiet; Erin hadn't made any noise since just now, and he couldn't determine her position.
Almost at the same moment, bullets pierced through the wardrobe, sending wood splinters flying, crashing down on his head.
The gunshot sounded very close, as if it was right beside him.
"I say, Erin, we can still talk this over, can't we? What do you really want?"
Red Falcon's voice came from behind the wardrobe, as Erin slowly approached with the Winchester, an uncanny smile creeping over her face.
"Yo, Moon, still alive? Are you hurt?"
"What do you think?"
Both of them had turned sly and cunning.
"So, interested in having a chat? Erin, killing me doesn't change anything, right?"
Red Falcon's voice was somewhat rushed and suppressed, indicating he was injured. Realizing this, the smile on Erin's face grew broader.
"It's Lorenzo who's in charge now; I'm just a mere accessory. Whatever you want, you should talk to Lorenzo. And if you kill me, do you think you can evade Lorenzo's revenge?" Red Falcon began to threaten Erin.
"Despite appearances, Lorenzo and I go way back, and you've seen his strength... Aren't you afraid of my brother?"
Red Falcon seemed genuinely flustered, spouting all sorts of nonsensical words.
"Sounds not bad, too bad our goals differ... at least subtly,"
Erin slowed her pace, quietly closing in.
"What exactly is different about them? Tell me, let's find common ground and reserve differences!"
"You know? Some things can't be explained," Erin mused, "at least not to you; you're too dumb."
"Is that so?"
A voice sounded; this time it wasn't coming from behind the wardrobe, causing Erin's face to change slightly, followed immediately by a sharp glint slicing past her face.
The fruit knife flew a short distance before embedding itself in the wall. Erin wore a grim expression. The specter of death still loomed at her neck. If she hadn't dodged in time, that blow might have slit her throat.
Red Falcon was indeed a bit of a foolish dog, but different from other dogs, this one was robust, full of fangs, and when necessary, could even wrestle a few rounds with a Demon, emerging victorious, drenched in blood.
This strike bought a little time. The moment Red Falcon threw the fruit knife, he surged into a sprint, and Erin could only catch a glimpse of a dark shadow before Red Falcon knocked her to the ground.
After all, he was an Upper-Rank Knight of the Purification Mechanism; maybe not very intelligent, but undoubtedly maxed out in physical prowess.
"Damn woman, today I must have a go at you."
Having knocked Erin over, Red Falcon didn't feel too good himself. He slowly got up, coughing painfully.
Erin felt pain all over after being knocked down like that. She stood up only to find that in the collision just now, the Winchester had been dropped in the middle between the two of them.
"Learning, huh."
Erin praised Red Falcon. In the next instant, she dashed toward the Winchester, and simultaneously, Red Falcon also moved.
"I don't want to hit a woman, don't push me."
Though he said that, the fierceness of Red Falcon's punch showed he wasn't holding back at all.
"So chivalrous?"
"It's called having moral standards."
The two clashed again; due to their injuries, both were very cautious.
What Red Falcon needed to do was hold Erin back. Whatever scheme she had, as long as he stalled until Lorenzo or someone else returned, Erin would surely be defeated. Erin knew this well too. To unlock the cuffs and put Red Falcon off guard, she had already wasted too much time. She appeared relaxed now, but inside she was incredibly anxious.
