Guide To Train My Beast Husbands-Chapter 226: Rong Xian
"It’s nothing special." One of the mers spoke in a low voice. He followed the rest of the crowd because he wanted to see what Ruan Chanchan was doing. Earlier, he thought that the woman was making a fuss for no reason, but after testing the sausage that she had made, he realised that all this fuss was worth it.
However, the mer liked Shao Xia and couldn’t help but utter some sour words.
The people around him rolled their eyes when they heard his remark. Most of them knew that this mer was close to Shao Xia and didn’t say anything. They knew that if they quarrelled with him, it would only waste their time, as the mer would stand up for Shao Xia no matter what.
The mer saw that no one was paying attention to him and turned sullen. He huffed and then turned to walk away without looking back. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Finally, he left. I was scared that he was going to make trouble." An old mer muttered to his friend.
His friend hummed and softly sighed; a hint of relief washed over his eyes as he turned to look at Ruan Chanchan. He whispered to his good friend, "Isn’t that right? This little one has been causing a lot of trouble for the past few days. Just a few days ago, he beat a crippled totem warrior to death just because he bumped into him."
"Well, what can we say? Who asked him to be the son of Elder Ye?" Another woman snorted as she took another bite of the sausage that Ruan Chanchan had offered her. She watched Ye Chengzhu walking away and then said to the rest, "But this is not a piece of good news; since this mer had set his eyes on Ruan Chanchan, he will definitely cause trouble for her in the upcoming days."
Upon hearing this, the two mers heaved a sigh. They felt sorry for Ruan Chanchan; thus, when they returned to their caves, they sent a large chunk of meat to Ruan Chanchan.
Ruan Chanchan: "..."
What happened? Did they like the sausage so much?
Ruan Zeqiu, on the other hand, was very happy; he knew that his sister was not close to the rest of the tribe. But it seemed like he was worried for nothing. Not only was she becoming good friends with the people of the tribe, but she was also communicating with them. This was a good thing; as long as his sister was willing to talk with the people in the tribe, she would sooner or later get close to the rest of the tribe. He had also heard the people of the tribe praising his sister in the past few days.
Yuan Ni stood inside the cave and looked at Ruan Chanchan with a complicated expression on his face. Ruan Chanchan was really different from how he thought she was. In the past, everyone said that Ruan Chanchan was a fool and that she was crazy when it came to good-looking mer. She also used to like to stick close to her, but now she didn’t even talk to him.
He took a bite of the sausage that she had prepared and didn’t know what to make of it. He knew that whatever Ruan Chanchan had made, it was going to be good, but he never thought that it was going to be this good.
He looked down at the sausage in his hand and pursed his lips. It seemed like his grandmother was right—he was going to regret letting go of the opportunity that she had given to him.
"Chanchan—"
"Ruan Chanchan!"
Just as Yuan Ni called out to Ruan Chanchan, someone came running inside the cave.
"Aunt Baidi, what are you doing here?" Ruan Chanchan pleasantly smiled at the woman, but when she saw that the expression on her face was rather solemn, she pursed her lips and asked softly, "What happened, Aunt Baidi?"
"Chanchan, can you connect with the beast goddess?" Aunt Baidi asked worriedly. "Someone got injured at the small mountain, and we need the help of the beast goddess to save her."
"I cannot connect with the beast goddess whenever I want to... it’s a long process," replied Ruan Chanchan with a frown and shook her head. She didn’t want the tribe’s people to think that she could connect with the beast goddess whenever she could, or else they would start relying on her. "What happened? Why are you suddenly asking me to connect to the goddess? Who got injured?"
"What happened, Aunt Baidi?" Yuan Ni asked.
"It’s the prince of the whales." Aunt Baidi sighed. "He was heading to the Beast of the Capital, but ended up getting attacked by the assassins. I don’t know who attacked him, but if we don’t save his life, I am afraid that the Queen of the whales will kill us all to be buried together with her son." Aunt Baidi looked fretful as she glanced over her shoulder.
Yuan Ni looked absolutely enraged. He exclaimed, "How can they even think of killing us? We were not the ones who sent the assassins after their prince!" It was simply too much. Who did the Queen of the whales think she was? How could she even think of attacking their tribe just because her son ended up falling in front of their tribe? Was this even justified?
"Yuan Ni, shut up!" one of the mers shouted as everyone turned to look at Yuan Ni.
Was he even in the right state of mind? Did he really say those words? Was he not worried that the prince of the whales would hear him and tell his mother that they were calling her a tyrant?
Yuan Ni was indeed not scared. The prince of whales was injured gravely since that was the case, so why would he be scared? If anything, he really wanted to go ahead and kick that mer out of their tribe. Why did that mer have to come and fall in front of their tribe? Could he not find another place to drop dead?
