Chapter 107: Envy

Minako was back at her house.

To her disdain, the first person she saw was her sister, Rika. The woman was, for some reason, cheerfully talking with Tomoko and a blonde girl Minako didn’t recognize.

Minako couldn’t understand how this had happened. She had made sure that her sister’s relationship with her daughters would be terrible. So how had things just... changed like that?

Tomoko was too stupid to realize her mistakes on her own. And Minako knew her sister was too shy and weak to confront anyone.

"This bitch..." Minako mumbled under her breath.

Etozawa, who stood by her side, felt her anger, and his heart sank. Up to that point, he had been the one carrying the conversation, since Minako had fallen silent.

"Did something happen?" Rika asked with her usual gentle smile.

"No, nothing," Minako answered, forcing a smile of her own.

However, on the inside, she was furious. She hated seeing how bright her sister looked. Her whole life, Minako had done everything to destroy her younger sister’s happiness. A disproportionate hatred guided her every action.

It had all begun in childhood. Minako had always been a narcissistic, unstable child, and she never accepted that when a new baby was born, she became secondary. She couldn’t accept it in any way.

That rejection grew into a deep envy toward Rika. Because of that, throughout her life, she tried to take everything from her sister. Minako had always envied Rika.

When Rika got larger breasts than hers, Minako got implants to surpass her.

When Rika made friends, Minako would do everything in her power to steal them away.

When Rika worked on a project, Minako would replicate it, but make it better.

When Rika felt proud of something, Minako would make sure to show her she was worthless.

And even after all that, the stupid woman never seemed to realize it. Minako had even seduced her sister’s boyfriend and taken him away. But her plans were much deeper than that. She knew Rika still loved him, and she allowed their secret relationship on one condition: that he would never give Rika what she wanted most.

A child.

And to make her life even more miserable, Minako ensured that Rika’s relationship with her own daughters would crumble, so she would never experience the warmth of motherhood. Or at least, that’s how it was supposed to be.

Yumemi, who was usually hiding in her "cave," came down. And not just that, she was excitedly speaking with the blonde girl, whom Minako believed to be one of Tomoko’s friends.

Again, things were wrong. Why were Tomoko and Yumemi being friendly with each other? They should dislike each other strongly; Minako had worked hard for just that.

Anyway, her attention snapped to the unknown blonde woman. Maybe she was the reason everything was wrong.

"Oh! What a lovely lady. Who are you?" she asked Ana directly, without even paying attention to her own daughter at her side.

Yumemi didn’t seem happy with it. Ana, on the other hand, kept a polite smile. She knew how much Tomoko cared about her mother, so for now, she would try to keep the peace.

"Oh! You must be Tomoko’s mother... Minako, right? I’m Ana. I’m a close friend of Tomoko. Nice to meet you," she said with a big smile.

"Yes, I am," Minako gave a polite nod. "Likewise. And this is my boyfriend, Etozawa."

She introduced the boy, and even if everyone thought he was too young, they wouldn’t point it out, especially when they all knew Rika was dating Shin and also had a large age gap.

"Anyway, do you want to help us?" Ana asked excitedly. "Yumemi, Tomoko, and I were actually helping Rika come up with a list of names."

"Names?" Minako blinked in surprise, finding all of this weird.

"Yes! Because Rika is pregnant and all, so we were thinking about names for the baby," Ana spoke, completely unaware of the landmine she had just stepped on.

Rika’s smile faltered, a flicker of fear crossing her face as she anticipated her sister’s reaction. However, Tomoko and Yumemi remained completely unaware that they had touched on a sensitive topic, casually continuing their conversation as they commented on the names they had argued about.

Minako, on the other hand, had already shifted her full attention to her sister. Her eyes turned cold as ice... but her smile never faltered.

"Sister, is that true? Are you pregnant?" Minako asked.

"What?" Ana blinked. "Oh! Wait, you didn’t tell her yet?"

Minako’s gaze locked onto her sister. Inside, something twisted violently. A sharp, suffocating rage clawed at her chest, threatening to explode. But on the outside, she only smiled.

"How wonderful," Minako said softly. "Congratulations, Rika."

Rika looked down, clearly embarrassed and uncomfortable. "Thank you..."

Minako had always told her it would be better for her not to have a child. That she was too childish, too careless, too incompetent to take care of a baby. And, being the masterful manipulator she was, Minako had managed to plant those ideas deep within Rika’s mind.

Or at least... she had. Until Shin showed up and changed everything.

Minako tilted her head slightly. "So... who is the father?"

Rika hesitated. "It’s... complicated," she muttered.

Minako’s smile sharpened just a fraction. "I’m sure it is. Still, you can tell your own sister, can’t you?"

Rika looked around for help, and Yumemi finally chimed in.

"It’s a super donor, you know, artificial insemination and..." The pink-haired girl stumbled over her words, feeling the cold stare of her mother.

"I’m not stupid; I can tell when you are lying," Minako snapped.

"I’m sorry..." Yumemi looked down, and no one dared to intervene after that.

"So, why are you keeping a secret from your older sister?" Minako pressed, her tone still light, almost teasing. "You should trust your own family, you know."

Rika’s hands tightened slightly. Her face flushed. The woman couldn’t deal with the pressure and was terrible at keeping secrets. In the end, she simply crumbled under her sister’s gaze.

"...It’s Shin," she admitted quietly.

For a split second, something dark flickered in Minako’s eyes. She was surprised Rika had a child with her own son and had no idea how this could have happened.

But that wasn’t even the most important part. What truly mattered to her was the fact that the child was born from an incestuous relationship. It was very likely illegal. There was no way something like that would be legal. She wasn’t sure what the law would say, but she could probably use it to press her sister and force her to abort the child.

A devilish smile played on her lips as she imagined how devastated her sister would be. But just as quickly, she hid her true intentions. First, she needed to talk with Tomoko alone. For that, she created a random excuse, and the girl followed her mother. Etozawa, of course, went with her, leaving Yumemi, Ana, and Rika behind.

"What was that? I’m sure she was angry for a second because Rika has a baby," Ana commented. "Seriously, what is wrong with that bitch? She has been giving me bad vibes since I first saw her."

Yumemi and Rika hesitated to speak, almost like they were afraid she might hear. But Yumemi calmed down, thinking her oni-chan would protect her if anything happened.

"I’m not sure, but I don’t like the fact she is back. Things seem weird. Aunt Rika, remember that we are on your side if anything happens. We are harem sisters." Yumemi hugged her aunt.

"Thank you..." Rika murmured.

"By the way, I think it would be better to keep the harem a secret. It could be risky to tell her. Even so, I have the feeling Shin will make that pathetic boyfriend of hers into a cuck," Ana snorted.

"Maybe you are right," Yumemi laughed.

"I hope not," Rika, on the other hand, showed fear at the idea. She was afraid her sister would also steal Shin from her, or better, from all of them.

Minako didn’t take long. When she returned, Tomoko followed right behind her. At first glance, nothing seemed out of place. She walked normally, her posture straight, her expression neutral. But something was... off.

Her eyes were empty, as if whatever spark usually filled them had been quietly extinguished. Yumemi noticed it first.

"Tomoko?" she called, frowning slightly.

"Yes, do you need something?" Tomoko asked as usual. Her eyes returned to normal, but not entirely.

Ana narrowed her eyes.

Then Minako stepped forward, reclaiming the center of the room as if she had never left. Her gaze swept over them all before settling on her sister.

"I’ve had a moment to think," she began casually, her tone almost pleasant. "And I’ve come to a conclusion."

No one spoke.

"That child is an abomination." She looked in Rika’s direction. "A relationship like that... it’s unnatural. Disgusting, even," she went on, her voice smooth. "And more importantly, it’s illegal. I will be reporting this to the authorities."

The words landed like a hammer. Tomoko said nothing; she didn’t even move. But Yumemi was furious.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Yumemi exploded, stepping forward with a fury that shook her entire body. "Are you insane?! That’s your own sister!"

Minako’s eyes flicked toward her daughter, completely unbothered.

"If anything, that’s exactly why I should act," she replied coldly. "I’m preventing a mistake before it becomes irreversible."

"A mistake?!" Yumemi’s voice cracked with rage. "That’s a child! That’s family! And you... Fuck you!"

Yumemi stormed off to her room.
