Beyond the walls was an endless fog.

Li Wei could leave the dream, but the outside was too dangerous.

The Pig-headed Nightmare flew down from the walls and attacked Aier.
A massive Chain Hammer smashed down viciously toward Aier’s head.
Aier couldn’t dodge in time and was sent flying by the hammer, his Magic Shield flickering incessantly.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
The Pig-headed Nightmare took heavy strides, charging toward Aier, who was lying on the ground.
Aier scrambled to his feet and waved his Magic Staff.
"Mire Skill!"
"Vine Skill!"
Two Tier Zero Magic spells, with a Casting time of less than five seconds.
SQUELCH!
The ground beneath the Pig-headed Nightmare’s feet melted into a mire, and it stepped right in, sinking into the bog.
Just as the Pig-headed Nightmare tried to struggle free, the surrounding ground shattered, and four vines grew out to entangle its body, holding it fast in the mire.
RRRIP!
The Pig-headed Nightmare struggled with all its might, snapping the vines one by one as it crawled out of the mire.
In the end, Tier Zero Magic couldn’t hold a Tier Two Nightmare.
However, Aier had already achieved his goal.
"Chain Fireball Technique!"
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
Aier cast the Tier Two Spell, Chain Fireball Technique, launching five Fireballs from his Magic Staff in a single breath.

The Fireballs struck the Pig-headed Nightmare, and the successive explosions blasted its body to pieces.

The Fireball hit the Nightmare Core, destroying it completely.

A streak of light shot into Li Wei’s body.

It turned out that when Mage Aier was young, he had been hunted by a pig-headed man and almost died, which was why the Nightmare had taken that form to attack Aier.

A few Nightmares spotted Li Wei and charged at him.

Li Wei turned to look back at the vast expanse of Cold Sand City.

The army from Maple City had taken over garrison duty from Cold Sand City’s original forces, so Li Wei would have to stay here for a while.
Li Wei wandered around the city, occasionally striking out to kill Nightmares that had taken the form of Beastmen.
He discovered that not everyone who Entered the Dream would fall into a nightmare.
Gu Ze, Rota, George, and the others were all asleep, but he didn’t see any sign of them in this nightmare.
’It seems there’s no necessary connection between sleeping and having a nightmare.’

A violent explosion sounded from not far away. Li Wei turned his head to see flames soaring into the sky.
He knew Aier had been attacked by a Tier Two Nightmare again.
Only this time, the battle was exceptionally fierce.
Li Wei moved closer to the battlefield.
He saw five or six Tier Two Nightmares besieging a few people.
Besides Aier, there were three other Tier Two Extraordinary Professionals trapped in the nightmare.
A Warrior wielded a Great Sword, trading furious blows with a Nightmare Beastman. His Fighting Spirit unleashed waves of Sword Qi that tore up the ground.
A Knight stood before Aier with his Shield raised as three Nightmares attacked him ferociously.
Aier seized the opportunity to cast his Magic, releasing the Fire Snake Skill.
The Fire Serpent danced through the air, engulfing the three Nightmares attacking the Knight and severely wounding them.
The Knight took his chance, thrusting his Riding Spear to pierce one Nightmare’s chest. His Fighting Spirit shattered its body.
In the shadows, a figure flickered in and out of sight, specializing in sneak attacks on the Nightmares from behind.
A Warrior, a Knight, and an Assassin!
Aier shouted, "Something’s not right with these Beastmen! Their regenerative abilities are too strong!"
His Mana had been depleted in the successive battles.
Now, he was barely holding on by relying on Mana Recovery Potions.
Mana could be replenished with Potions, but Fighting Spirit could not.
Under the Nightmares’ frenzied assault, the Warrior was the first to fall.
His Fighting Spirit exhausted, his Power plummeted. Seeing this, the Nightmares besieging Aier and the Knight abandoned them and pounced on the weakened Warrior.
RRRIP!
The Warrior’s body was torn to shreds. The Nightmares ravenously devoured the Power of Nightmare that burst forth from him upon his death.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The aura of one Nightmare suddenly surged, reaching Tier Two Peak.
Aier and the Knight were besieged by the powered-up Nightmares. The Assassin, seeing things were turning bad, fled immediately.
The Tier Two Peak Nightmare tore the Knight’s Armor to shreds, killed him, and then pounced on Aier.
Aier let out a roar, and the Magic Staff in his hand shone with a blinding Magic Radiance.
BOOM!
The terrifying force of the explosion sent all the surrounding Nightmares flying.
The body of the Tier Two Peak Nightmare was torn apart, suffering grievous injuries.
Mage Aier had self-destructed, severely wounding all the Nightmares.
Given the Nightmares’ regenerative power, however, there was no such thing as a "grievous injury."
They could recover to their full strength within minutes.
A figure appeared in the center of the explosive smoke. Li Wei picked up Aier’s dissipating Memory Fragment.
He caught a flash of light out of the corner of his eye and picked up another piece—the Knight’s Memory Fragment.
Both Memory Fragments had already dissipated for the most part.
If Li Wei hadn’t appeared in time, the Knight’s Memory Fragment would have probably vanished completely.
After taking the Memory Fragments, Li Wei raised his hand and hurled a small Fireball at the most heavily injured Tier Two Peak Nightmare.
BOOM!
The Fireball exploded. A chunk of the Tier Two Peak Nightmare’s body shattered, only to regenerate in less than two seconds.
Seeing this, Li Wei retreated without hesitation.
Even a grievously wounded Tier Two Peak Nightmare was not an opponent he could handle.
"ROAR!"
Seeing the little thief who had stolen their spoils, all the Nightmares roared and lunged at him.
Li Wei shot directly up, rushing into the sky.
The Nightmares froze for a moment before following him, revealing their true forms as they flew into the sky.
Their upper bodies still looked like Beastmen, but their lower bodies had become trailing wisps of gray mist.
BAM!
Li Wei rushed into his room and kicked the door shut.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Several Nightmares slammed heavily against the door, their forms even scattering from the impact, but the door didn’t budge an inch.
