Grand Voyage : Surviving on a Ghost Ship-Chapter 111 - New World and Lost Exiles
Yang Yi flipped to the latest page of the World Chat Channel and saw a message that caused a huge stir.
"I am Shen Guanquan, leader of the New World Fleet! I have a way to safely navigate this sea! I will remain at coordinates XXXXX:XXXXX for 48 hours. You can come here, follow the fleet, and cross this sea with us!
But please note, you must maintain a safe distance of at least 20 nautical miles. Otherwise, you will suffer a fatal attack."
Yang Yi quickly skimmed through the message and continued scrolling to check other players’ reactions.
"This is huge!"
"I'm coming right now!""The New World Fleet is very trustworthy. I have friends there!""I'm too far away..."
...
"Shen Guanquan, that guy..." Yang Yi was a little surprised.
He realised that when Shen Guanquan sold information about the Ice Nest Worms, he had already thought this step through.
He was waiting — waiting for players to recognise the terror of the Ice Nest Worms, and then stepping forwards to declare that he had a way to lead them out of danger!
A rather brilliant publicity stunt!

Even though Shen Guanquan never explicitly mentioned recruitment, by now, people desperate to join the New World Fleet were probably lining up in droves.
If he truly did what he claimed, leading a massive number of players out of the Extreme Winter Sea...the New World Fleet’s reputation would skyrocket to its peak, unshakable by anyone!
Messages flooded in at an overwhelming speed, making it hard to keep up even with the system’s quantum reading capabilities.
Suddenly, an inconspicuous message was quickly drowned out in the sea of comments.
"The Lost Exiles Fleet eats people...."
Yang Yi saw it, but many players probably didn’t — it was instantly buried under the overwhelming flood of messages.
...
Just ten minutes earlier, the Lost Exiles Fleet had welcomed two new guests — a man and a woman, a couple who had met at sea. They had accepted the fleet’s invitation and hospitality.
"Welcome to the Lost Exiles Fleet."
The one greeting them was the fleet’s vice leader, Veil, a dignified and elegant blonde beauty.
Dressed in a well-fitted gown, she spoke with grace and warmth, easing the newcomers’ nerves.
"Our leader has prepared a banquet in your honour to welcome you. Please, follow me."
Veil curtsied slightly before turning to lead the way.
Their location was a unique ship known as Feast, equipped with a restaurant, a kitchen, and a massive cold storage for food supplies.
“We’ve definitely come to the right place!”
“The Lost Exiles Fleet only has about a dozen ships in total. Maybe we could become core members in the future!”
The new man was excited, but his female companion looked worried.
They were low on supplies, so they thought about joining a fleet. When they saw that the Lost Exiles Fleet was recruiting, offering food, wood, and hot water, they decided to contact them.
After some communication, they were surprised to find that they were quite close to the Lost Exiles Fleet and met the requirements to join, so they were invited.
It wasn’t just a casual invitation; there was a strict screening process.
They had to provide photos (without clothes) and personal information, such as age, gender, weight, height, and even measurements... (1)
After passing the screening, the two received an entry gift, including a small amount of wood and black bread. More gifts would be given in person...including a mysterious rare item!
So, the two set off for the coordinates provided by the Lost Exiles Fleet, since their food supply was low and would only last for a day or two.
Now, back to the present.
The two new recruits entered the restaurant of the Feast and found a long rectangular table.
There were chairs on both sides of the table, all occupied except for two, which seemed to be reserved for them.
The table was covered with empty plates, but the dishes hadn’t been served yet...
“Welcome!”
“Welcome, both of you!”
“Slurp...welcome!”
Everyone stood and clapped to welcome the newcomers, making it a grand occasion.
Finally, the leader of the Lost Exiles Fleet, Wiseman, who sat at the other end of the table, stood up and said in a friendly, calm voice:
“Welcome, my delicious friends!” (2)
He wore a golden mask, so his face was hidden, but his tone was very cordial.
“I am...”
The new man was about to introduce himself, but was interrupted by Wiseman.
“No need. We already know you!”
“Before we eat, please make sure to clean yourselves. This is a rule of the Lost Exiles Fleet.”
The two newcomers were stunned; they had never heard of such a rule before.
It was common to wash your hands before a meal, but to take a bath before eating...that was almost unheard of!
What kind of cleanliness obsession did these people have to require a bath before a meal?
But then, the two looked at the well-dressed and tidy faces around them... then at their own clothes, which looked like they were begging on the street.
“I see. They think we’re too dirty!” The new man understood and explained to his companion.
At that moment, Vice Leader Veil spoke from behind them:
“Two of you, the hot water is ready. It’s in the next room.
Please clean yourselves up and come to the banquet quickly.”
She finished speaking and led them to the bathroom next door.
As Veil had said, inside were two large wooden tubs with hot water steaming from them.
The new man tested the water temperature with his hand and nearly got burned. He then asked,
“Is there any cold water? The water is too hot!”
Veil politely shook her head, took their clothes, and said there were new clothes waiting outside. She asked them to wash up quickly or the food would get cold...
Inside the bathroom, only the two newcomers remained.
The woman spoke quietly, “Do you smell something?”
“What kind of smell?”
“It’s kind of fishy...”
...
Fifteen minutes later, the two emerged from the bath, wrapped in bathrobes, and returned to the dining hall.
Everyone was already seated at the table.
The two empty seats were now occupied, one was taken by Miss Veil.
Everyone seemed to be ready to eat, with knives and forks in hand, white napkins on their chests, but only plates were on the table.
Then, everyone looked at the two freshly bathed individuals, and a sense of great fear rose within them.
Suddenly, Miss Veil’s nose fell off and dropped into her plate.
She smiled apologetically, carefully picking up the nose. But soon, half of her face fell off as well, revealing rotting tissue beneath the skin...
The only remaining empty seat had a book placed on it — a rare item book, Introduction to the Cannibal Cult: A Beginner’s Guide.
