Grand Ascension-Chapter 78: First Grade Apprentice
Makun felt the chaotic energy in the air.
He knew he had tapped into something the moment he felt he was going to lose his life to Zack York. At that point something he had bottled came up in a violent fashion.
He had been annoyed in his life, but never angry about what happened to him, He knew that being angry was only going to make things worse for him.
Which is why he preferred logic to anything else.
However that same anger he bottled up before, Makun could feel it circulating throughout his body.
It was what composed his Ashe, what composed who he was.
Makun felt it, and understood that he had unconsciously crossed a threshold.
It seems I am close to advancing from Initiate to Apprentice. Was that last cry of rage an epiphany that changed my Ashe?
He knew it was.
He also knew that right now all he needed to do was quietly sit down in meditation and let the transformation finish.
As such, Makun gritted his teeth, ignoring the pain and observing his body, and the more he did, the more he noticed new information lodge themselves in his head.
He went through the memories, one by one, memories full of people dying, collapsing stars, corrosion, burning, mountains crumbling, things he could not understand yet.
However, he heard somethings, and they stuck in his mind.
To overcome chaos, become more chaotic than the chaos that threatens you.
In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.
Sometimes you have to lose all you have to find out who you truly are.
Makun repeated those words. It was different from everything else he had till now.
When he got initiated into mysticism information he got were about body mechanics, memories of fights, memories of different weapons, When he advanced from first to second grade initiate the formula and the clue he got from what he assumed to be the deep lodge themselves in his head.
So he deduced that the memories of people dying were memories he had got after advancing from second to third grade, which meant that this information about chaos was him crossing the thresold from Initiate to Apprentice.
Makun still did not understand though. How was he meant to use this information. Was he meant to interpret it, or was he meant to repeat it like a mantra. He had no idea.
Another question he had ever since waking up was why was everything chaos related?
He had been called a beserk warrior by Mark and Jorg and from his observations the name of a subroute was very telling.
Jorg, a graviton sovereign operated with Mass and gravity. So why was his Sub-route as a beserk warrior chaos focused.
If I have to define a berserk warrior then, I would say it is a fierce fighter who enters an intense, almost trance-like rage in battle, so pumped with adrenaline that pain, fear, and sometimes even self-control fade into the background.
I have been like that, from when the entities controlled me to when I fought Zack.
So I am a beserk warrior. That makes perfect sense.
From his own definition, he knew he was berserk, he had been in that trance like rage twice before. One was external rage from the entities, the second was his own rage.
Where does chaos come from? Is it because once in that state, all I seek is destruction? Then chaos is the result of being berserk?
Makun wanted to dive deeper, as he had a feeling his Ashe was going to affect a lot of his personality, and traits.
However, He could feel himself getting closer to completion. The Transformation of his Ashe was speeding up as it reached the end of the process.
POP! POP!
His Route core churned, absorbing all of the chaotic Ashe in the room, while rejecting information it deemed unworthy of this sub route.
It spun faster, increasing the rate at which he absorbed. Makun’s hair broke through the bandage and swirled wildly, whipping around his head as if caught in an invisible storm.
The air around him distorted, rippling with waves of red Ashe that pulsed outward in erratic bursts. The healing charms overhead flickered, their golden light struggling against the pressure radiating from his body.
His Route Core expanded one final time, solidifying its new size, its new structure. The chaotic Ashe no longer fought against him. It flowed smoothly, naturally, as if it had always been a part of him.
The red energy coursed through his veins, saturating every atom, embedding rage and destruction into his very essence.
Learn the path, or be lost by it. Makun felt one last information settle in his head before his breathing steadied.
The pain began to fade, replaced by a strange, electric clarity. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Makun opened his eyes.
They glowed faintly, a dim red ember flickering in the darkness.
His body felt different. He felt strength, Strength beyond anything he felt till now.
He tried moving, and he could.
He could tell advancing had improved the quality of his body, healing the remaining injuries left by Celine.
He placed a foot, full of bandage on the ground and felt different. He was heavier but lighter.
More Ashe Makes me feel heavier however it allows me to be lighter. He concluded.
He looked at the room, and everything looked cleaner. The dim light was clearer, the charms brighter and in 4k. It felt as if he had consumed some mushrooms. He had read before that they granted superior vision.
He flexed his fingers, testing the weight of his own limbs, and felt the Ashe respond instantly, coiling beneath his skin like a living thing. He had crossed the threshold. He was no longer a third-grade Initiate. He was an Apprentice. And everything had changed.
Everything had changed but it was not sufficient. He had moved from Initiate to Apprentice in just a week, but what were those chains? who was after him? He had struggled so much against Zack, could he fight stronger opponents?
He still knew nothing of what was happening around him and it seems he had to sort this out.
