Golden Experience-Chapter 210: “It’s alright, no problem”

<I see, [Transformation] huh? I know about its characteristics, but it does seem strange for a humanoid, or rather a race related to humanity, to possess it.>

<Yeah, right? I was quite surprised. So, if there’s some kind of condition to acquire that “transformation,” I’d like you to mix it up with something.>

<…Sure, but wouldn’t it be better to experiment with something else first? Currently, systems related to race changes, including reincarnation, are usually irreversible.>

For players, in the worst case, using paid items might allow them to revert to being an Elf or Human.

<It’s fine, it’s fine!>

<Okay. If you say so. But how about that transformation? Being defeated by the Giant Corps, it doesn’t seem extremely powerful, does it?>

<Eh? Oh, its stats were about mid-level for a player. Didn’t have any impressive skills. Maybe didn’t even have “Bare Hands.” Overall, a knight NPC was probably stronger. However, after transforming, it became as strong as a knight armed with armor.>

The term “Transformation” was probably a keyword set by the player. Originally, it might have been [Mutation]. Sugaru was practicing partial mutations, but this seems like a full-body version. The description of “[“Transformation” mentioned changing parts or the entire body, if I remember correctly.

If Blanc’s theory is correct, fusing Sugaru with myself could create a Demon Lord with traits similar to Sugaru’s. In that case, there’s a possibility of acquiring “transformation” at the time of fusion.

It was an unexpected case, as I hadn’t considered using my avatar as a fusion material. But if it’s usable as a material, I should be able to do it.

However, losing Sugaru is unthinkable. Moreover, at this point, it’s unclear whether, in such a case, either my subordinates or Sugaru’s subordinates would be entirely lost, or if they would be integrated as subordinates of a new character. It’s not something easily executable.

<So, what happened to that Shape’s rural town? Was it conquered?>

<Eh? I don’t know. Azalea is handling it well, so it should be okay. It’ll probably be over soon.>

<Is that so.>

‘I want to conquer a country alone.’

Where did that passion go?

Azalea is under Blanc’s command, so it’s not entirely wrong to say it was conquered with Blanc’s power, but is that satisfying? Well, if Blanc is happy with it.

<Alright, after this is done, we’ll have more comrades, so let’s go to the next town!>

<Considering angel attacks, it might be better not to completely empty the town.>

<It’s okay! In Verdesud, there are only zombies, so we’re almost wiped out by angels every time, but it seems fine.>

There’s no way it’s fine.

I remember mentioning placing a few vampires before. Probably, those vampires are managing to deal with the angels, allowing us to keep the dungeon. There’s a limit to black labor.

If someone were to say one day that they forgot to provide food, I would send reinforcements despite knowing it’s unnecessary. But as I thought about it, it seemed too likely, so I got scared and decided not to ask. ŕá𐌽Օ𐌱Ës

But a suit of iron armor, huh? Did they simply add a suit of iron armor, or did they mix in some creature with such characteristics? I’ve put materials like adamantium or mithril, or reincarnation items like the Philosopher’s Stone, into the [Philosopher’s Egg], but I’ve never added a standalone item with meaningful significance like equipment, so I don’t know.

Within me, blood is treated as a material.

If, hypothetically, the added material was a creature, could it be a wild Living Armor caught somewhere?

If that were the case, even Yoroizaka-san, an upper-tier species, should be possible. However, at least as a [Living Fortress], it didn’t become a fusion material. In that case, it’s doubtful that the predecessor, a Living-type monster, would become a fusion material.

Or perhaps there’s something like an order of placement.

Blanc’s [Transformation], as she put it, doesn’t mean a complete transformation into an entirely different race, given that the race name is Human. It can be said that it merely added the characteristics of another race to Human.

If this was done through fusion, then one of the materials used must have been the core material. In this case, it would be him, a Human.

For example, if there were a race with a specification that allows it to be used as material to inherit traits to another character, even if it doesn’t become a fusion material for reincarnation, there is a possibility that a Living-type monster might fit that description.

However, since there’s also a possibility that they simply added a suit of iron armor, this is just wishful thinking.

In any case, we won’t know unless we try… First, we need to find out if such additional fusion is possible.

Or rather, how did that [Transformation] guy acquire his power?

It’s hard to imagine he did it on his own. To acquire [Magnum Opus] through [Alchemy], he would have to clear many conditions, such as obtaining magic skills for all attributes. If there were so many different skills, even Blanc would surely notice when using [Appraisal].

If someone else treated him, then who is that someone?

The [Transformation] guy seems to be a player, but it’s unclear if the one who performed the treatment is also a player. NPCs can be formidable, and even without the Spirit Lord, it’s not certain that there isn’t someone who has mastered [Alchemy]. After all, Blanc is in the Dwarf country.

But still, if there’s such an interesting player, it wouldn’t be strange if it became a hot topic… Well, it goes both ways.

The “Hero”, or rather, the so-called “Doctor” who modified the Hero, might not boast about such findings. It’s commendable to have discovered that feature, but not everyone wants to spread it around.

Currently, their combat strength doesn’t seem impressive, but if they can continue body modifications, there’s the potential to become much stronger. Honestly, it seems more efficient to earn experience points in a more conventional way, but what they seek is not efficiency but something else, some kind of romance or coolness.

And this applies to both Blanc and me. I’m not sure about Lyra.

“At least the Hero seems to be a player, so capturing and questioning is impossible. If the Doctor is an NPC, it would be easier, but for now, we don’t even know their whereabouts, so either way, we have no moves.”

Even if we say that, what I want to learn from the Doctor is more about “why they became able to do such things” rather than “how they do it.” The latter is of lower importance.

It is the same as [Subordinate] at the beginning.

If you know it exists, you can always reach it by trial and error.

I couldn’t have that much passion for [Appraisal], but this is a different story.

“I wonder if the point is [Alchemy]. But it doesn’t seem like you can do that, at least not with the existing skills… I’ve taken a lot of skills since then, but nothing new has been added.”

At least as far as magic skills go, I’d say we’ve covered most of what’s currently available.

The only martial arts skill I have wielded is [Bare Hands], but I don’t see the need for anything regarding [Alchemy] in this series.

For example, if it were a specification that a sword-based skill is necessary to carve out a character to be used as a material, and that’s why it’s included in the conditions, I would indeed send an e-mail to the management complaining about it.

“If that were the case, it would mean that only the best martial artists could cook. Well, even at this point, there are some specifications that I don’t understand, such as the requirement of martial arts skills for healing.”

Besides, in terms of transplanting only the characteristics of the material to another character, the image is closer to that of extracting rather than isolating.

“Extraction, huh… That’s one of the oldest chemical methods of mankind. Well, it was mainly utilized for cooking and such. Tea, soup stock…”

Speaking of [Cooking], it is one of a group of skills that I haven’t touched at all.

If this were a requirement, then it’s no wonder it never shows up on my list as an option.

When you have absolutely no idea, it is not a bad idea to start with the possibility that seems furthest away.

There is probably no reason for me to acquire something such as [Cooking] unless there is a reason. So since there’s a reason, I decided to try this thing here, and acquire [Cooking].

Even if it was a bust, the acquired skill would not disappear.

I can’t imagine myself doing much cooking, but there may come a time when it would be useful.

However, the ants are making meals to satisfy the usual hunger level, and if I want to eat dessert, I can just hawk it to Lyra.

In the beginning, it was difficult to teach the ants that their meals are different from mine, but now that I’ve taught them that, I will never have to hold a knife myself.
