Chapter 18 - 18 Prince

"You can even smell that?"

Upon hearing Noah's words, Ted was taken aback, his face showing shock.

"It's quite easy."

The Dragon Species, as a group perched at the top of the food chain, excel in all aspects that living beings can achieve, naturally including the five senses.

"So, do you have a girl you like now?"

Noah stared at the young man in front of him. He wouldn't be going out now, so he was very interested in the youth's trip to the Capital, such as the source of these mixed female scents on him.

Of course, he was more interested in the fight he observed through the Golden Tree, wanting to know what triggered it and how it ended.

However, Noah didn't plan to ask directly; the existence of the Golden Tree must not be revealed. The boy, eager to show off, would naturally give him the answer.

"Yes."

The young man stood tall and proud, his dark pupils gleaming with a confident light, very different from before.

"How many?"

"Six, seven... eight, nine?"

Ted showed a thoughtful expression, and then his expression became uncertain, and his tone gradually hesitant.

"?"

Noah was silent for a moment. Four months ago, a boy with a shy face and some beautiful yearning for love seemed still in front of him. But months later, after just a few naps, the once bashful boy suddenly transformed into a competent and outstanding scoundrel.

"What have you been through in the Capital?"

"My experiences are too rich."

Upon hearing the Golden Dragon's inquiry, the young man's brows relaxed immediately, a proud smile rose, and he began bragging about his trip to the Capital.

Noah listened intently, and thus understood why the boy had undergone such a massive change in such a short two months.

To put it simply, Ted had recognized his position among the younger generation in the Human Kingdom, realizing the privileges his noble identity entitled him to within the Kingdom.

On the borders, noble status is meaningless without strength, but once away from the borders and into the prosperous lands, the situation is different.

Of course, more importantly, Ted was a highly talented young man himself. Not yet 14 years old, he had already completed the Bronze Enlightenment stage and entered the Silver Spirit stage. His fighting spirit was so thick, it could extend tens of meters without dissipating.

Such talent and strength are not apparent in the borderlands. Even the youth himself didn't think much of it, as overhead was a father with even greater talent and power.

The knights this guy could see since childhood were almost all capable of defeating him, even now he could only mingle with the Patrol Knights.

Ted never felt there was anything remarkable about his talent and strength, until his entry into the Capital reshaped that perception.

"Those braggarts boast like nobody's business, but once it comes to actual combat, even with one hand tied, I floor them all.

Even those higher-ranked Silver fighters aren't my opponents. They haven't experienced true combat; some even fear the sight of blood—a complete joke."

The young man animatedly recounted his triumphs over the peer nobles of his age since entering the Capital. With each won bout, his mindset underwent a dramatic shift.

Am I really this strong?!

With a change in mindset, naturally, his actions also transformed accordingly.

A youth with great strength, outstanding talent, and a higher noble status has immense allure, attracting countless noble maidens yearning for romance.

Without the layers of glamorous aura enveloping his exterior, this guy is essentially just an inexperienced, dreamy boy with a hopeful view on love, having no defenses against these purposefully scheming noble maidens.

"Noah, you have no idea how glorious I was after defeating the so-called Eagle of Ares Prince in the Capital. The moment I won, I became the center of attention at the arena."

"Hold on a moment."

Noah caught onto the key point, interrupting,

"In the Capital, you took down a Prince? Does this Prince hold any claim to succession?"

"Of course, second in line, reportedly soon to become first.

But to me, he's just an empty-headed waste, yet he claims to be the most talented swordsman the Royal Family has seen in a hundred years. It's utterly ridiculous."

The young man showed no hesitation in his disdain for the Prince, looking down upon him.

"To think you destroyed the Royal Family's most talented title in a hundred years, tsk."

The Golden Dragon roughly understood why his foster father would clash and fight in the Capital, likely due to some youth being too brazen and exposed,

"How did you come to clash with him? Did you instigate it or did he?"

"It was them, of course. After entering the Capital, I didn't provoke anyone; those wastes came after me. The Prince did the same because his fiancée invited me to a ball, and upon hearing it, he challenged me to a duel."

The youth, with a look of unjust innocence at Noah's words, defended loudly,

"If he hadn't challenged me, I wouldn't have even known there was a ball invitation from his fiancée amidst the numerous invitations I received."

"Oh, I see how it is."

Noah was suddenly interested,

"So, did you attend?"

"No, my father threw away all those invitations, and I couldn't leave at night in the Capital, so I couldn't attend."

The young man showed regret; this was the most regretful part of his trip to the Capital.

"Look at you, so unambitious."

The Golden Dragon scoffed disdainfully,

"So the invitations were thrown away, what about the love letters from those maidens?"

"I kept all of them."

"Let me take a look."

"No way."

The young man flatly refused, and Noah flicked his dragon tail, nonchalantly as though indifferent,

"Among the love letters you received, is there one from the Prince's fiancée?"

"Of course not, what do you take her for?"

"Eh? Why are you defending her? Did you have something with her?"

The Golden Dragon raised its neck, dragon eyes gleaming, sensing something off in the youth's tone.

"No, don't talk nonsense, I'm just defending a noble maiden's rightful reputation."

Ted immediately denied.

"So because of an event you couldn't attend, you were antagonized by the Kingdom's next heir?"

Noah scrutinized the young man, suddenly recalling something,

"Almost forgot to ask, how badly did you beat that Prince?"
