Simin was dumbstruck. Was this supposed to be a good thing? While others were scrambling to get a single B-rank skill, he had three SS-rank skills and one S-rank. His stats were off the charts, he had a noble title at level 21, and two Legendary jobs. Even the auxiliary options were good enough to make any other enhancement master weep with envy.
So why? Why were tears welling up in his eyes?
"...Damn it."
Those damn bastards. He should have known something was up the moment they slapped a childish modifier like ‘Ultimate Legendary’ on the job name. How could the grand prize be another job?
"I don’t need this crap!"
A tamer? What a joke. He had already given up on hunting when he got his first Legendary-grade job. He gave up on it a second time when God’s Blessing kicked in. The final nail in the coffin was when the Ring of Blessing became soulbound. And now, they were practically dancing on his grave.
"Are you kidding me? 550%..."
He wouldn’t be surprised if that number were in the Guinness Book of World Records. To gain a single level, he had to hunt nearly six times more than anyone else. The thought alone was horrifying. And what if he was competing with someone hunting right next to him? They would leech experience from his kills, nearly doubling the effort he’d have to put in.
‘Is this a divine revelation telling me to just bang a hammer and beg for money my whole life?’
No, this was clearly Betago’s bullshit. He glared down at the book that had caused all this trouble. It was blank. He flipped through the pages, but they were all the same, as if it existed only for the job change. A ninth-circle grimoire, his ass.
He spat in disgust. Still, just in case, he flipped to the very last page. A single map was spread across it, marked with several dots. You didn’t have to be a genius to know what that meant.
"So now I’m supposed to go on a treasure hunt?"
He had to give them points for preparing something appropriate for the new job, but couldn’t they just give it to him? They were basically screwing over their successors after they’d worked their asses off to get here...
"Haaah."
He unceremoniously shoved the book into his subspace. Right now, he wanted to undo everything—the treasure, all of it. A Legendary-grade tamer, what a load of crap. What was he even supposed to do with tamed monsters? A method for creating synergy with enhancement instinctively popped into his head, but he was already busy enough developing his territory. Taming and raising monsters on top of that made him think he might seriously have to take out a loan just to play the game.
He gave the Ultimate Legendary Tamer, who was probably watching from hell, the middle finger and picked up the next chest.
He picked it up, then put it down. Should he really open it? What if he opened it only to get another pile of shit dumped on him? A wave of anxiety washed over him.
Of course, for a normal player, opening a chest to find a Legendary job—a second one, at that—would be a reason to celebrate wildly. Growth might be a little difficult, but the effects of two Legendary jobs would be far beyond those of any normal jobs. However, that was just a matter of perspective. To Han Simin, it was nothing short of a penalty.
He hesitated. Maybe he shouldn’t open it. But he was also curious. What kind of treasure had the Legendary Enhancement Master left behind?
"Hmm."
He made his decision.
‘I’ll open just one more. If it’s something stupid, I’m done.’
He’d have to open them eventually, but if his spirit was broken twice in a row, even he might lose all motivation.
"Haah."
He set down the chest he’d been holding and picked up a different one. That first one felt unlucky for some reason. He inserted the key and turned it.
The identity of the second treasure was revealed.
"...Another ring?"
Just like the last one, it came with a piece of parchment. His gaze naturally drifted to his left hand, to the Ring of Blessing and the Aura Control Device on his ring finger. They were both exceptional items, so his expectations were high, but he didn’t feel the joy that should have come with it. It was just so predictable. Everything they made turned into a ring. Even if accessories were the most efficient—and you could wear at least twenty rings—it was getting old.
"I’m going to be lord of the rings at this rate," he grumbled, but a smile crept onto his lips.
Still, it was much better than the tamer job being forced on him without so much as an ask. He voiced his spoiled complaints as he checked the parchment first. He wondered what kind of message this lunatic had left.
[To my successor,
If you are reading this parchment, then you are the disciple of one of us five. The probability that you are my disciple is, of course, the highest.
Assuming you are my disciple, I will say this. The five of us are quite eccentric, so we made a rule to only choose one gift. However, my treasure is the best compared to the other four, so you may take pride in it. A Buffer! I have prepared a treasure that will be most helpful to your abilities, so go forth and make your name known across the continent. Hahaha! Ah, and on the very low chance that the disciple of some other loafer has taken my treasure, I have made it so that they cannot use even a quarter of its effect, so it would be best not to get your hopes up! Farewell.]
It was confirmed. He had opened two of the five chests, and the two lunatics who left them were both completely insane. That meant the other three were probably the same. Birds of a feather flock together, after all. If it were him, he wouldn’t even speak to psychopaths like these, let alone make a bet with them, even if they had the same Legendary job.
"Heroes, my ass. They’re just a bunch of unemployed thugs with nothing better to do."
So they made a bet, but filled the chests with treasures that were useless unless their own disciple found them.
‘How do you like that? Pisses you off, doesn’t it?’ was how he would summarize the letter. Tearing it to shreds, he picked up the ring.
A Buffer. It was certainly an attractive class. If he had to choose between an enhancement master, a tamer, and a buffer, he would have picked Buffer. And this was a treasure that would maximize anyone’s buffering abilities. It probably wouldn’t be very effective for him, but he decided to check it out anyway. He could always hold onto it and sell it to a Buffer for ten times the price later, adding a "nuisance fee" for good measure. Since there was no direct harm to him, he felt much more at ease than he had with the tamer job.
[Buff the Buff]
Grade: Legendary
Option 1: All buff effects +100%
Special Option 1: Infinite Durability, Indestructible
Special Option 2: Soulbound (Simin) effect applied. Will not drop on death.
‘Huh? What is this?’
Simin frowned as he checked the ring. An all-too-familiar option caught his eye.
"You son of a..."
So this was the "hardship" the parchment mentioned for other classes! The sheer audacity of it becoming soulbound the moment he checked it, without even equipping it, made him laugh humorlessly.
"Fine, you bastards. If this is how it’s going to be, I’ll just make money out of it." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Thinking only of his enhancement master and tamer jobs, it was true that he couldn’t use even a quarter of this item’s effect. He had no buffs that would be helpful to others. It was an item for a Buffer.
However, the story changed if Han Simin held those jobs.
"Holy crap. Does this mean the experience bonus is now 132%?"
The Ring of Blessing was essentially a buff that improved other players’ abilities, so this new ring was like giving it wings!
"Haaaah."
He knew it would turn out like this. With a sigh, he tossed the remaining three chests into his subspace. They undoubtedly contained amazing treasures, but he felt like he’d catch their insanity if he opened another one. He’d open the rest later. He needed to go back and have a long talk with his wallet anyway.
Slipping the Buffer’s treasure, or whatever the hell it was, onto his left middle finger, he began to take out his items. There was one last thing to do.
‘Might as well enhance everything while I’m in this field of prime locations.’
After spending several more hours in the Tomb of the Enhancement Master—no, the Tomb of the Five Psychopaths—he finally emerged.

After a week-long journey, Gongheon arrived at the territory, his heart swelling with anticipation. He had worked so hard to survive the competition against countless overseas gold coin farms. If he could sell a thousand gold coins this time, he could use that capital to build a larger infrastructure and supply even more gold coins within Korea. This was only possible because Fantastic World was different from old online games, where you could just buy a bunch of computers and press a few buttons.
The era of gold coin farms having to strategize had arrived. That’s right.
There were still gold coin farms that relied on cheap labor for simple, repetitive grinding. But considering Fantastic World’s high barrier to entry and the cost of a capsule, anyone trying to do business that way would go bankrupt long before they ever recouped their initial investment. Gongheon was a savvy merchant who had calculated all of that.
‘I’ll throw in about 50 gold coins as a bonus and make him a regular customer.’
He envisioned a society of mutual benefit, moving beyond simple gold-coin transactions to become part of the infrastructure of Fantastic World. That was his ideal market for gold coins. To that end, he had poured his heart and soul into today’s deal. That was why he had spent a whole week traveling here.
"I’m here to see Simin," he announced.
"Yes, we were expecting you. Please come this way," a portly NPC replied.
Gongheon’s heart pounded as he waited in the shabby village, guided by the pig-looking NPC. After waiting for half a day, Han Simin finally arrived, accompanied by six dirt-covered knights.
"My apologies for the delay," Simin said.
"Not at all! I haven’t been waiting long. Haha!" Gongheon replied with a good-natured smile. A few hours were nothing for a deal worth over $100,000.
Seeing the friendly man in his early thirties, Simin got straight to the point.
"By any chance, do you know who I am?"
"Pardon?"
"I couldn’t tell by your voice, but now that I see your face, I know exactly who you are," Simin said. It was, of course, complete bullshit. But the bullshit he was spouting now was just to build momentum. "Don’t you remember this?"
Simin pulled the crimson dagger from his coat. Gongheon paused, thinking for a moment.
"Ah! Could it be... the +14 dagger from the FW community?"
"Yes! That’s the one," Simin confirmed.
"Wow! I can’t believe it’s really you. This is such an honor! I’m the one who wrote the best comment on that post. What a coincidence! Haha!" Gongheon exclaimed.
"Yeah," Simin said, his expression hardening as Gongheon beamed. "What a coincidence."
"To think the person who bet their entire fortune back then was a gold coin seller. Isn’t that a strange coincidence? Or should I call it good fortune?" Simin mused, as Gongheon’s hand subtly moved toward the leather pouch he had set out.
