God of Pets-Chapter 714: Army of the Celestial King
"I have something to settle, please wait for a moment," Ji Changsheng said to the Spirit Devouring God.
"Alright," the Spirit Devouring God replied with a single word.
Ji Changsheng turned around, his gaze sweeping over the people in Innate King City without speaking to them. He simply removed a jade ring from his fingertip, holding it between his fingers and raising it in front of him.
Everyone's eyes were drawn to the jade ring in Ji Changsheng's hand. It was an unadorned and uncarved ring, ancient and plain, almost indistinguishable from an ordinary stone.
It was neither magnificent nor transparent, except for a streak of blood-like red that wrapped around the entire ring, it had no notable features.
Ji Changsheng held the ring and said, "All that I have learned and perceived in my life, along with some small treasures I have collected, are contained within this Innate True Qi Ring. After I leave, you are to place the ring within the Innate Divine Hall without any obstacles. Anyone may come and take it. If anyone can open and take it away, all those belonging to my Ji Family must heed their commands and serve them as their master."
With that, Ji Changsheng casually tossed the Innate True Qi Ring, which automatically flew into the Innate Divine Hall, hovering above the crossed hands of the statue, and then remained motionless.
"My lord... please don't go... the Ji Family cannot be without you..." Ji Jiuying wanted to rush into the sky to stop Ji Changsheng from leaving, but found that as soon as he left the ground, an invisible pressure pressed him down so heavily that he couldn't lift off from the ground.
Under that pressure, Ji Jiuying felt as insignificant as an ant. If he tried to resist, he feared he'd be crushed to dust in an instant.
Filled with dread, he realized just how powerful Ji Changsheng was, still standing so calmly in the sky.
Ji Changsheng paid him no mind, speaking to himself, yet as if addressing someone else: "If one manages to open the Innate True Qi Ring, even if not my master, they should at least be one who has inherited my master's legacy."
With those words, Ji Changsheng ignored the Ji Family members in Innate King City, lifted his gaze to the Spirit Devouring God, and walked towards the sky.
In the Sky Garden, vines descended, intertwining to form layers of vine stairs that extended in front of Ji Changsheng.
As Ji Changsheng stepped onto the vine stairs, they bloomed with flowers, transforming into a floral path leading to the Sky Garden.
"Celestial King..." the Ji Family members lamented.
They were filled with regret and remorse. If they hadn't forced Ji Changsheng to emerge, perhaps he wouldn't have obliterated the Secret Spirits from Evil God Mountain, wouldn't have displayed such terrifying abilities, wouldn't have attracted the Spirit Devouring God, and perhaps wouldn't have left.
Now that Ji Changsheng was leaving, the Ji Family's power was greatly diminished. They feared they would no longer be able to stand alongside other families.
But Ji Changsheng did not look back and walked directly into the Sky Garden, following the Spirit Devouring God into the unfolded sky.
As Ji Changsheng departed, the sky closed, returning to normal.
The garden in the sky suddenly collapsed and fell, countless Heavenly and Earthly Treasures tumbling to the ground, taking root upon landing, turning a thousand miles into a garden of Heavenly and Earthly Treasures in the blink of an eye.
Despite obtaining so many Heavenly and Earthly Treasures, for the Ji Family and Innate King City, it couldn't compare to the loss of King Ji.
The news of Ji Changsheng's battle and destruction of the Secret Spirits on Evil God Mountain, followed by his departure with the Spirit Devouring God into the Sky Secret Spirit, quickly spread across Divine Land.
Also spreading was the news of the Innate True Qi Ring Ji Changsheng left behind.
Many powerful figures went to Innate King City, wishing to enter and attempt to open the Innate True Qi Ring.
But the Ji Family sealed off access to Innate King City's Teleportation Array, not allowing anyone to take the ring, or even enter the Great Cave Heaven.
Clearly, the Ji Family had not obeyed Ji Changsheng's order, nor did they want anyone to get the ring.
Ji Jiuying and others tried taking the ring; even if it couldn't be opened, just taking and hiding it would be enough.
Of course, opening it would be best.
They could not understand why King Ji did so, why he left what was clearly Ji Family's property to outsiders instead of them.
To say they harbored no resentment towards King Ji was impossible.
But circumstances as they were, their only thought was to take the ring.
Yet, after everyone tried, not only could they not open the Innate True Qi Ring, even those who had achieved Unity of Knowledge and Action couldn't move it an inch.
The force exerted shattered the Divine Hall and the statue, but the ring remained suspended, unmoving, as if one with the world.
"The Ji Family's Grotto Heaven is sealed, not open to outsiders for now. Please leave," Ji Hongshan blocked the incoming visitors.
He led Ji Family's strong ones, guarding for three days, turning away all who came without allowing entry to Innate King City.
Bang!
A cloaked figure merely glanced at Ji Hongshan, and the man at the pinnacle of the Ninth Awakening flew out, crashing into a group of Ji Family warriors.
Without another glance, the figure walked straight towards the Teleportation Array.
"Blind man, why the hurry? Why not travel together," a voice called from outside as another person approached.
This person appeared dignified, though dressed plainly, exuding an aura distinct from the ordinary, with an unparalleled demeanor.
"King of Qin..." The people were astounded, realizing that the man who toppled Ji Hongshan with a glance was the Celestial King known as Blind Man.
"You go your way, I'll go mine, we're different paths," Blind Man snorted coldly, stepping into the Teleportation Array and vanishing.
The King of Qin shook his head slightly, also heading for the Teleportation Array.
No one dared to stop them, with two Celestial Kings personally coming, it was impossible for the Ji Family to safeguard the Innate True Qi Ring.
Moreover, they were not alone. After their entry into the Ji Family's Great Cave Heaven, seven of the remaining nine Celestial Kings had already come.
The Ji Family members were filled with indignation, but what could they do before these Celestial Kings? 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Even with all of Innate King City's power, they might contend with one Celestial King, but that was merely a possibility.
Now with seven Celestial Kings present, they buried their frustration, watching helplessly as each king took turns attempting to take the Innate True Qi Ring.
Amazingly, after the seven Celestial Kings left the Ji Family's Great Cave Heaven, the ring remained perfectly there, untaken.
Stories of the Innate True Qi Ring and Ji Changsheng's mention of his master's lineage spread across Divine Land.
They had never heard of Ji Changsheng having a master, but judging by his last words, only his master's legacy could possibly claim the Innate True Qi Ring.
But who was Ji Changsheng's master? No one knew.
