God of Pets-Chapter 400: Substantial Gains
Chen Guan reached Level 20, and simultaneously discovered that the Secret Skills obtained within the Blood Spirit Banner were also present.
Level 39 Purple Qi from the East, Level 40 Night Vision, Level 60 In the Name of God, Level 60 Blood Burst Divine Skill.
Secret Skill: Blood Burst Divine Skill (Unique Item).
Cultivation Requirements: None.
Primordial Energy Consumption: 147.
Skill Level: 60.
Special: Blood Consumption.
The Level 60 Blood Burst Divine Skill doesn’t consume a particularly large amount of Primordial Energy. Chen Guan calculated that at Level 1, its Primordial Energy Consumption should be 21.
However, the Blood Burst Divine Skill does not simply consume Primordial Energy; it also requires the consumption of one’s own blood, half Primordial Energy and half blood. Generally, people cannot use this skill; they would likely be drained of blood within seconds.
Luckily, Chen Guan had robust vitality and abundant Primordial Energy, so he was able to use this Secret Skill.
Currently, at Level 20, Chen Guan’s Primordial Energy limit reached an astonishing 524,288. With over half a million Primordial Energy, he could squander it freely without running out any time soon.
"I can start practicing the Pure Yang Sword Immortal more, and improve its level." Chen Guan planned to remain in the state of a Pure Yang Sword Immortal all the time, so that its level could be quickly enhanced.
Now that he reached Level 20, Chen Guan needed to consider the promotion issue.
What kind of Secret Spirit should he use for the Third Awakening, as this would greatly impact the formation of the Secret Collection.
The most ideal state would naturally be the Third Awakening using a Secret God, but finding a Secret God in this world is no easy task.
"As long as I can find a Secret God, maybe with the protection of the Level 60 Blood Burst Divine Skill, I could kill it. But where can I find a Secret God with a Third Awakening?" Chen Guan was somewhat troubled.
He had half a Secret God Core on hand, which was given to him by the King of Eight.
But half a Secret God Core was useless; the whole core would be needed for the Third Awakening.
To obtain the other half of the core, he would need to help the King of Eight deliver a letter to Profound Celestial Pillar Mountain.
"This isn’t impossible. Now, with the protection of my Level 60 Blood Burst Divine Skill, the highest level of Secret Spirits within the Blessed Land is just 30. They can’t harm me." Chen Guan was scheming whether to send the letter for the King of Eight.
With his current capability, theoretically, he could go anywhere within the Blessed Land unharmed. There shouldn’t be anyone in the Blessed Land who could kill him.
Chen Guan got up to retrieve the Paperman guarded inside the room along with Yanzhi and Warring States, only to discover that the Paperman’s level had changed.
Previously at Level 10, the Paperman was now Level 20.
"Huh, when did it level up?" Chen Guan beckoned, and the Paperman landed in his palm.
The Paperman, originally, had now turned a blood-red color, looking somewhat different than before.
Chen Guan glanced at its information; aside from Primordial Energy and Growth Rate, everything else was still a bunch of question marks, revealing nothing.
"Could it be that the energy I exuded earlier was absorbed by it? Otherwise, how could it jump directly from Level 10 to Level 20?" Chen Guan pondered.
Warring States ran over to Chen Guan’s side, wagging its tail and licking Chen Guan’s hand, looking very pleased.
Chen Guan put away the Paperman, patted its head, and Warring States happily rubbed against him.
Glancing at Ming Fei’s level, still at the previous Level 17, he thought about finding some time to Dual Cultivate synchronously to raise her level to 20.
Ji Nanhong rushed over, and upon seeing Chen Guan teasing Warring States, she sighed in relief.
"Are you okay?" Ji Nanhong, still not at ease, asked again.
"There was a slight setback during the cultivation of the Secret Technique earlier, but it’s resolved now." Chen Guan didn’t mention the matter of the Great Luo Dream Butterfly.
It wasn’t that he was afraid of Ji Nanhong knowing about the Great Luo Dream Butterfly; rather, he was worried she’d find out he’d been a pet to a woman for several days.
Only then did Ji Nanhong feel at ease: "It’s good that you’re okay. You nearly scared me to death."
Seeing Ji Nanhong’s appearance, Chen Guan could hardly resist the urge to hold her close and comfort her.
But noticing Fu Tianji standing nearby, Chen Guan dismissed the idea, as he didn’t like performing in front of others.
Chen Guan put the Great Luo Dream Butterfly away; now only nine Butterfly Flowers remained on the branches.
"There are nine Butterfly Flowers left. Does this mean I can astrally project nine more times with the consciousness of the Great Luo Dream Butterfly? I wonder if the next projection will again lead to the Blood Spirit Banner." Chen Guan wasn’t sure, but the probability of returning to the Blood Spirit Banner was low.
The place the King of Du went wasn’t the Blood Spirit Banner; it seemed the use of the Great Luo Dream Butterfly didn’t lead to a fixed destination.
Chen Guan didn’t dare try now, as his urgent matter was still hastening the Third Awakening.
He had a meal with Ji Nanhong and chatted in the courtyard. If not for Fu Tianji spoiling the scenery by his presence, Chen Guan felt life wasn’t bad.
Ji Nanhong spoke about the recent developments with the Qilin Corps, which was on the right track by now and didn’t need much attention.
Ji Nanhong had enough resources and leveled up quickly; she also reached the point where she needed a Third Awakening. It was just that she had been busy with the Corps and hadn’t found the time for it.
Now that Chen Guan was fine, she wanted Chen Guan to look after the Qilin Corps while she returned to the Ji Family to complete her Third Awakening.
Chen Guan patted his chest and assured her to go without worry, as there wouldn’t be issues with the Qilin Corps under his watch.
After Ji Nanhong left, Chen Guan found himself with little to do.
He had Jiang Tianqing for general affairs and Shi Zhimen for military matters, plus the three Deputy Commanders guarding various places in the Qilin Mountain Range, leaving Chen Guan with little to worry about.
Chen Guan thought that once Ji Nanhong was back, he would visit the King of Eight again to inquire about the situation at Profound Celestial Pillar Mountain.
"Chen Guan, there’s been an urgent development." Jiang Tianqing walked into the office with a worried expression.
"What’s got you this flustered?" Chen Guan slightly frowned, as not many things could upset Jiang Tianqing like this.
"Xiu Jie Ming has come to our Qilin Corps." Jiang Tianqing said.
"What is he doing here in our Corps?" Chen Guan was puzzled.
"The rumor is he’s planning to explore unknown territories and came here to deploy troops. The Xiu Family isn’t using their own corps, but comes to ours, so they probably aren’t up to anything good." Jiang Tianqing didn’t say it outright, but the implication was clear: Xiu Jie Ming was likely targeting Chen Guan.
"Let’s go, I’ll meet him." Chen Guan stood up to leave.
He didn’t really believe that Xiu Jie Ming was here to deal with him.
If Xiu Jie Ming intended to deal with him, he wouldn’t have waited till now to make a move.
When Chen Guan arrived at the conference hall, he saw the Xiu Family soldiers guarding the door. He walked over himself without obstruction, but the soldiers blocked Fu Tianji, who was following him.
"He needs to come in with me." Chen Guan said to the inside of the room.
"Let them in." came Xiu Jie Ming’s voice from inside.
