Chapter 934: For the Curtain Call, The End of the World as we Know It (25).

The true nature of the {Beholder’s Eye}, was the ability to completely, with no limits whatsoever, see through everything in all of existence.

Although that sounded like a stretch, it was, in fact, the truth.

Regardless of how powerful the spells of Abaloth were, it wouldn’t change the nature of the skill itself, only the difficulty with which Cain could use it.

That was just one part.

The {Beholder’s Eye} could help him see everything. But it wouldn’t magically grant him comprehension.

All this time, Cain had been secretly observing not only the spells the Devil cast, but also the Magic Wheel as well.

All for one purpose...

To find a way to defeat the Devil.

Finally, after some time and a terrible amount of beatings had passed, he had finally managed to crack the first piece of the puzzle before him.

’The spells themselves aren’t so special, besides that last one, {Monochrome Antithesis}. They are {Spatial Blades}, {Hexacore Lock}, {Mind Warp}, as well as several amplification spells ’

Cain pursed his lips,

’But that doesn’t mean they aren’t deadly on their own. To crown it all up, the Magic Wheel doesn’t just amplify their effects, it also adds a mystical characteristic I just can’t quite put my finger on.’

It was already incredible that he could understand a few Tier 3 runes without going mad, but that was the most he could.

Trying to peer past that was not only impossible, it was suicidal as well. The mind of a Tier 2 creature could not comprehend the nature of the third tier of existence.

However, this was more than enough.

With this much knowledge, he already knew most of the weak points he could attack to find the opening needed to end this battle.

But...

Looking up, he noticed a shadow hovering above him.

If course, it was Abaloth, looking down at him with those apathetic pits of darkness.

His lips curled up instinctively into a sneer.

The revelations he had just acquired allowed him to realize that although the Devils presented itself in glory and grandeur, it was a coward, in a way.

There was no shame in being a coward of course. In fact, if he was in the Devil’s shoes, he probably would have done the same, if not more.

He had come to know that the Magic Wheel that manifested behind Abaloth was simply a semi-physical manifestation of the actual thing, which expanded, sort of like a three dimensional, esoteric network of magic circles and runes.

The Magic Circles were then connected with one another through nexuses, which were the center of the Magic Wheel’s power.

The problem arose with where the Nexuses were.

His eyes flashing with an otherworldly glow, he could see them clear as day, almost like three blazing Suns in the sky.

They were beautiful. A sight he could swear was one of the most breathtaking things he had ever seen.

The best way to describe the nexuses, woild be ’Glorious Stars Glowing in the Evernight Sky’.

But that would be a gross misunderstanding.

Because they were not stars.

And they did not glow.

Nor did they exist in the Evernight sky.

Instead, they were orbs of concentrated mana and Devil Essence, nestled somewhere between the physical and spiritual planes.

Regardless of how profound they actually were, they were his targets.

And they were nestled at the three sides of the Devils;

To its left, right and right before it.

Naturally, Abaloth did not know he could see them. That was where his only advantage was.

So then, the question arose;

’How the heck can I get him to lower his guard enough for me to land the finishing blow?’

The last time he had tried to be flashy, he had been countered fast and hard by that spell, {Monochrome Antithesis}.

A rather rnasty binding spell created not only with the power of space, but also time. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Cain couldn’t help but shiver.

A creature that could affect space was already terrifying.

One that could touch up on time itself was beyond horror inducing.

However, he knew it was not that simple.

According to the system, the possibility for him to possess affinity for the element of time didn’t exist even a little.

So he knew it had to be extremely special.

Whatever he did, if he tried to make a game-changing plan, would be easily stopped by {Monochrome Antithesis}.

However, there was a way he could play it to his advantage.

However, if he messed up, there was no second chance.

There was no redo either. All his spells and skills would be laid bare before the Devil.

What little advantage he possessed would be thrown away as well.

All those thoughts flitted through his mind in but a mere moment.

The winds of change had begun to blow.

Without much fanfare, Cain began casting his spells while he zipped across the sky filled with terribly sharp spatial blades, each one aimed to end his life.

Due to the sheer intensity of the spell, the mana and the mana flow patterns began to tremble and move chaotically.

Abaloth’s brows twitched when he noticed this.

The human was planning something drastic.

The Devil, in all its malevolent grace didn’t think about it too much as he quickly decided to respond in kind, even though it was perhaps, overkill...

The dark pits that were Abaloth’s eyes swelled and swirled like a storm’s eye.

Pillars of mana rich Devil Essence fell from the sky in what could only be described as cataclysm descended from the sky.

They twisted like dark dragons, creating a backdrop of chaos and destruction behind the Devil as they were swallowed by the Magic Wheel.

On the other hand, an absolute titanic Magic Circle appeared behind Cain.

The runes within the Magic Circle turned and trembled, glowing with arcane light.

Above his head, a flame appeared.

Then the flame began to condense, even as more flames burned and condensed upon it.

Until a miniature star was born...
