Chapter 1141: Organizing.

"You really should be more careful." Susan said with a frown as she watched Cain’s eye sockets mend themselves as new eyeballs grew into place.

Cain let out a pained sigh.

Earlier he had been careless, trying to see what he wasn’t supposed to see.

Seeing the frustrated look on his face, Susan smiled lightly and leaned down.

Cain’s eyes widened as the soft, moist feeling brought the life back into him.

"Take it easy."

"Cain..." A voice called from outside the tent.

Cain cleared his throat and sat up,

"You can come in."

Susan gave him a look. Cain smiled wryly.

Stepping into the tent, Hunter gave her a glance then a nod.

"Are you two busy, or do I come back some other time?"

Cain shook his head,

"No, it’s fine."

Hunter sighed then walked forward.

"Gilead and Steve are still setting things up. It’s good we landed in a good position."

Cain grimaced, "No. There’s nothing good about this place."

Hunter shrugged, "I can’t argue with that."

Susan huffed as a contemplative look settled on her face,

"This area within the Graveyard of Stars experiences the highest record occurrences of Skyfall. Not just that, but it also has the densest population of {Kaeler Fiends} and their flame spires."

She turned to Cain,

"The Chaos Hell."

Cain sighed and glanced up at the tent ceiling.

"The Starfall is going to be dangerous. Regular magic shields can help for the moment, but we’ll have to find a defensible position to set up camp properly."

Hunter nodded,

"I’ve sent out scouts out."

Cain nodded, "I see. Then it’ll be just a matter of time. For now, we can try to understand our circumstances better."

For a mission this long, everyone had packed their own rations, but there were a few general resources that had to be handled. For one, mana shards and cores, as well as magical materials they came across.

They had already come to a consensus that most of what was gained from the Third Trial and beyond would be split between the Golden Asura, the Pilgrims, and the Iron Beetles.

Beyond being just a trial ground, the Third Trial was a placed filled with a lot of unexplored opportunities, as well as a lot o danger in equL measure.

Those who survived the trials usually came out a fair bit resource richer compared to before the trial.

Cain slowly rose to his feet,

"Okay. We’ll need to begin organizing. Susan..."

Seeing the pleading look in his face, Susan clicked her tongue then sighed and cleared her throat, her expression turning serious,

"There will be a lot to manage. For one, we need to split the squads more broadly."

Hunter nodded. Then he frowned.

He turned to Cain, "Word just came back from the scouts."

Cain nodded, "What did they say?"

Hunter’s expression was not the best, which told Cain most of what he needed to know,

"We are currently seated right in the center of at least twelve Fiend settlements. They are probably aware of our existence already."

Cain clicked his tongue, "We’ll have to move so soon, huh..."

He frowned.

He considered what he would have to do. Due to the danger posed by the {Kaeler Fiends}, fighting them head on, especially on their home turf, was not a good idea.

The most troublesome feature of the {Kaeler Fiends}, was not simply their ability to control flames. Rather, according to the documented stories, it was the effect their flames had with the strange energy that suffised this realm that was so bad.

While the Fiends did employ flames, the energy gave it a rather strange nature, making them flames that could not be put out.

Literally.

The {Kaeler Fiends} were creatures that loved in realms of everlasting fire.

They were also creatures of everlasting fire, but that was still a bit different from the apparent destruction they could cause.

According to one such story, while killing one of these Fiends had not been too difficult, the damned thing had stubbornly self destructed upon its death. Because of that, at least ninety percent of an army ten thousand strong, was turned to ash in a few minutes.

Such a thing was rather terrifying, especially considering how little their numbers were.

It was so terrible, due to the sheer density of this strange energy within the Graveyard of Stars, and specifically the Chaos Hell realm.

The damned place was a literal hell.

Cain felt a headache coming up.

The best way to deal with the things according to proven methods, was to kill them all before they got too close. That was the only way.

If they were so close to so many of them, then that would be a rather bad thing.

Being swarmed form all directions meant their death would be inevitable.

He began considering what to do.

Trying to pull off a large scale spatial transfer in a place like this, where the laws of space and time were not quite clear to him was a very bad idea.

As such, he was not willing to even give it a try.

Cain frowned. This time, deeper.

He turned to Susan,

"What do you think?"

Susan was silent for a moment. Then she spoke firmly,

"Our only choice is to concentrate our power and break out from a single spot."

Not only did they have to get away due to potential Starfall as the energy powering the shields was not infinite, the threat of the Fiends was also too great.

Cain nodded slowly,

"Then that’s what we’ll do. Hunter..."

A glow of arcane origins lit up within Hunter’s eyes.

"That’s no—"

Suddenly he raised a brow,

"What is it?" Cain asked.

"It’s Floki. He said there might be a problem. He said it’s urgent and needs your attention."

Cain frowned, "What could be so urgent?"

Hunter frowned and was silent for a moment.

Then his eyes widened,

"We aren’t the only ones out here."

Cain nodded, "I see. That was always a possibility."

Hunter however, was not done,

"He also said they do not look friendly at all."

Cain’s expression changed.

"How many are they?"

Hunter’s face was dark,

"He said at least a thousand."
