God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.-Chapter 1122: He Who Could Slay a God (2).
Swords clashed.
Bullets blazed.
Spells scorched the earth.
Cain felt the blood dripping from everywhere.
Everything hurt.
Nebula, the Steel Viper was a monster, he had concluded.
Despite his seeming lack of complete control over all his swords, it didn’t matter at all.
Because his mana pool was endless.
His armor had now been completely torn to shreds.
He was barely hanging onto the stings of flesh still holding him together.
The Golden Asura, Cain was a Demon through and through, Nebula thought to himself on the other hand.
The damned bastard was like a beast that refused to go down, so much so, a twinge of fear blossomed in his heart.
What if, truly... He could not be killed.
How brows twitched.
Then the corner of his lips dragged into a sneer.
No. He must have been over thinking things.
After all, despite how hardy he seemed, the fact was that he was clearly winning. Even if his enemy as stubborn, he was still stronger.
His blades that could pierce through the heavens themselves kept falling, not giving him any room to breathe or mount any reasonable defense.
As such, he had resorted to just bearing it all with his bare flesh.
His blood had formed a puddle of red beneath his feet.
He was finished.
{Eidwyrm} was a blur. But it could not stop them all.
Cain’s mind, was oddly serene.
Even in the face of death, he didn’t seem to feel fear anymore.
Perhaps, it was because he was already so used to it.
He shook his head mentally.
No. That wasn’t it.
Nebula was a powerful foe. One he would struggle to defeat even with all his abilities, skills and spells.
And yet, he felt no fear when faced with the tip of his blade.
There was no fear in him.
Nor was there any other feeling but the desire to cut him down.
And so, despite practically slipping on his own blood z he took a step forward.
And then another.
"This... All this.." he muttered from his torn lips, voice hoarse and dreadful.
"All this is nothing!"
Indeed.
Compared to the gods and Devils he had battle and clawed through, all of it was nothing.
He was one who could slay a god.
If he fell here, then he might as well should have died in a ditch a long time ago.
A change.
The vigorous beating of Cain’s heart scrawled to a halt.
BADUMP!
His heart banged against his ribs.
A rush of vigor flooded him, drenching his flesh and organs in incredible vitality.
Right before his eyes, Nebula watched the man on the verge of death vanish from his sights.
His eyes widened and his danger senses began screaming at the top of their lungs.
The swords revolving around all swarmed towards him, forming a circular array of flying swords.
The next moment, however, the shield of swords was completely destroyed.
Absolutely nothing could have prepared Nebula for the force that came crashing down on him.
His body shot out like a swing ragdoll, smashing into a wall and turning it into dust.
However, his momentum was not completely spent as he kept flying until he stabbed two swords he materialized out of thin air into the ground.
With wide eyes, he spat out a mouthful of blood and crushed organs.
He slowly raised his gaze.
Gone was the man before him.
In his place, was a Demon.
Not some human that looked like a Demon. No.
This was an abhorrent, vile creature— a Demon through and through.
With wide wings that stretched out to both sides, a large tail that swept across the ground, and a pair of curved horns that pointed at the heavens like cursing fingers.
The insides of his eyes glowed golden, while the parts that were meant to be white were black. Like the void of a black abyss.
On his forehead was etched a symbol he had never seen before. And yet, it filled him with incredible fear.
Nebula staggered to his feet and frowned as he wiped the blood off his lips,
’This definitely isn’t as easy as I thought it would be.’ the Star Prince thought to himself.
He was still fto a moment as he made up his mind.
"Well done, Demon. I’ve made up my mind."
He stretched an arm out. Blinding radiance swirled about his fingers as he drew an object from the ether.
It was a sword though it looked rather different from the plain blades he summoned.
This was far more detailed, decorated with all sorts of runes and gems.
It was was also much longer— at least twice as long.
Nebula stared at the Demon stalking towards him, his face filled with grim excitement.
"This will be the first time I ever use this ability. You will be the first to witness the beginning of a new era. And the man who holds the destiny of this world in his hands."
Nebula’s eyes beamed with unparalleled radiance as he brandished the blade.
The already dark skies lit up as the blade lit up as he swept it across.
Different glowing runes rolled off th edge of the blade.
A moment later, they shot into the skies.
The runes shot into the clouds then formed an array that seemed to resonate with the world itself.
All the other flying swords seemed to sense something as they all froze midair.
Then they shot into the sky as well.
As they gathered around the array, the ambient mana began to rise even as the mana flow patterns became more and more violent and unstable so much so multiple black gashes appeared in the world due to the unstable space.
At the center of the array, an illusory blade began to form.
As it formed, the sky seemed to break, bolts of lightning crackling accompanied by the rumbling thunder.
A sword of a god.
Cain looked up.
The world looked strange and fuzzy.
He had heard the system whisper something to him earlier about something, but he didn’t have enough presence ofind to address it.
And that was because the world has taken on a totally new hue and feel to it.
He felt lighter.
He could see more clearly.
He felt like everything about him had changed on a fundamental level all of a sudden.
’Ah. Iust have broken through a barrier.’
The feeling was not new to him. But it was far more pronounced than anything he had ever felt.
He fixed his attention of the enormous blade, its width larger than that of a building as it began to descend, destroying the world in its wake.
Just like earlier, he felt no fear of the impending doom.
He raised {Eidwyrm} instinctively and took a stance.
{Eidwyrm} hummed with curious excitement as it resonated with the immeasurable torrents flowing off of him.
Behind him, an illusory image appeared.
It was that of an enormous black dragon.
One eye was filled with darkness. The other was pale white— the color of bones. The depths of both eyes were tinged golden.
The dark dragon stretched its maw open and let out a furious roar of defiance at the descending sword.
"Black Dragon, Annihilation."
