With Suzuki Kyouno’s presence, Pierre wasn’t free to make flirtatious moves towards the Class Rep. Anytime he tried, Suzuki laughed hysterically and touched him, saying things along the line of: "Pi-senpai, you’re so funny. Ahaha!"
Pierre’s eyebrows will furrow, and Aiko, as dense as usual, would then continue solving the questions.
When it was time for lunch, Suzuki Kyouno brought out cupcakes she made specially for Pierre.
He rejected them, of course. But when he noticed the looks everyone was giving him, even Aiko, he begrudgingly accepted them.
This went on for the entire study session, which lasted up until four o’clock.
Pierre escorted Sakamoto, Himari, and Aiko, but told Suky to go home. Her house was nearby after all. Roy knew he did this because he was afraid she would murder Aiko later.
Roy walked with Utahime and sighed.
"At least, we were able to complete the assignment."
"So, tomorrow’s the triple date," Utahime spoke, her hands clasped behind her. Her gait was calm, whereas Haruto Takahashi’s was timid.
"Y-Yeah. But it’s just a picnic, isn’t it?"
"A picnic at the amusement park? I thought you were smart, Takahashi-kun."
"I-I am!"
"Teehee~ I’m just kdding." Utahime laughed and locked arms with him.
Roy’s body went stiff, and he constantly reminded himself to calm down. ’She’s not your girlfriend, she’s Takahashi’s. She’s not your girlfriend, she’s Takahashi’s. She’s not your girlfriend, she’s Takahashi’s! Remember, goddammit!’
Roy regrettably removed his arm from hers.
They got to the road where they were to part ways, Utahime stepped away.
"We’ll see tomorrow, Takahashi-kun."
Roy nodded. "Take care, Hime-chan."
He was about to turn away, but she stepped forward and placed a hand on his chest and leaned her face into his.
[A: *Kiss her*]
[B: I-Is this okay, Hime-chan?]
[C: *Pull away* I have to head home now! Bye! (–1 Error Point).]
’Of course, the real Takahashi will never reject a kiss from his own girlfriend. But I’m not Takahashi.’
Roy removed Utahime’s hand from his shoulder and stepped back.
"I have to get going now! Bye!"
He ran away, leaving her befuddled.
’This annoying system really referred to me, Roy, as the incel, not Takahashi. Why else will it cost me an error point to do that? Tsk. Once I learn how to unlink myself from a host, it’s bye-bye! Stupid love system.’
Shortly after, the world in his vision darkened, and he found himself in the next day.
This time, Roy found himself standing in front of his house.
"It is time."
He raised his flip phone, and the map of the city was stored in it, with a highlighted path.
He was to meet the others at the amusement park, but there was somewhere he had to go to first.
In Pierre’s first run of this level, he had been paired up with the Class Rep and had gone on a double date with Sakamoto and Himari on the fourteenth day. However, this event was pushed a week backward as today was the seventh day.
It was good that this happened earlier, as it gave Pierre more time to bond with Aiko in the future. However, it was also bad because Aiko died the night of that double date, stabbed to death by an unknown assailant.
Roy rode on a bicycle to the hardware store on the map. There, he spent the 10,000 yen he was paid to help Pierre on a pocket knife, a taser, pepper spray, and a rope. The remaining cash was set out to pay for his experience at the amusement park. Luckily for him, Haruto Takahashi had some pocket money handed to him by his parents.
He put the purchased items in his inventory, and they vanished instantly, looking as though he wasn’t carrying anything at all. Normal side characters won’t have such features in the simulation, but that was why his existence in the system world was referred to as a mixture between that and a player two.
This was similar to the fact that he had dialogue options appear for him, too, where that would obviously be impossible to a native of the system world.
The group was to meet at the amusement park by 12 p.m., and when Roy got there, Utahime and Himari were already waiting.
Once again, upon seeing Utahime, his character froze, this time involuntarily.
Clearing his throat, they greeted each other and waited for the others to arrive, which they did shortly after.
The events of the amusement park weren’t Roy’s focus, although he did enjoy some of the games.
The group of six played the punching bag game, where the force applied determined the winner. Pierre scored high with 75 points, but Roy utilized his 2x Multiplier skill and got 80 points.
The girls commented on how strong he was, and Pierre’s face darkened.
Next up, Yoshida Aiko punched the bag, and her points counted up to 90!
"Whoa! How are you so strong?" Utahime and Himari grabbed Aiko’s arms.
"Ahaha, I didn’t think it would get so high," Aiko said.
"Hey, we’re cool, you and I, right?" Sakamoto commented with a laugh.
After, they entered the horror castle, rode the unicorn carousel, and the rollercoaster.
Having had enough fun together, for the last attraction, they each rode the Ferris wheel with their dates. Pierre with Aiko, Sakamoto with Himari, and Takahashi with Utahime.
Roy had an extremely bad feeling about being there alone with Utahime.
The handler locked the door, and a minute later, the Ferris wheel began to turn.
Roy was sitting beside Utahime, who had her hands resting on her lap.
"It’s been quite a fun day, hasn’t it?"
"Ah, haha. Yeah."
Roy answered her, choosing to say those words over an option that said the day was fun because of her.
"I think Himari-chan likes Sakamoto-kun," she said with a laugh.
Roy chuckled.
"It was obvious. He likes her too."
"Takahashi-kun..." Utahime grabbed his hand. "Why didn’t you let me k-kiss you yesterday? I was hurt."
[A: I-I was just... I don’t know.]
[B: Sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel that way.]
[C: I’m not who you think I am. I don’t think it’s right for me to kiss you. (–2 Error Points).]
’Dammit. There’s no time for this. I am not going to lose my first kiss to another man’s girlfriend!’ There was nothing different between this and possessing Pierre’s body in the real world just so he could kiss Jane. The fact of the matter remained, and that was she was going to kiss Pierre and believed it was Pierre who was going to receive and appreciate the kiss. However, would she still want to if she knew it was Roy in his body? Hence, would Utahime still want to if she found out that it was Roy she was kissing, not Takahashi? 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
On a personal note, he didn’t want to deceive anyone in that manner. How hurtful would it be if he ended up with Jane, and kissed her, only to find out later on that Chris or Pierre had possessed her body?
’That would be crazy. Ugh! Stupid thought, get out of my mind!’
Roy didn’t hesitate and chose Option B.
She smiled. "I know."
Utahime didn’t try to kiss him anymore. Thankfully, she seemed satisfied with just watching the horizon with him.
’Although, I don’t want to ruin Takahashi’s relationship,’ Roy thought.
"This is nice," he said and smiled at Utahime, then held her hand tighter.
Getting back down, Utahime unexpectedly pecked Roy on the cheek.
The handler opened the door, and the duo stepped out.
"What’s wrong with you?" Pierre asked.
While Sakamoto quickly chimed in, "You’re as red as a tomato!" and proceeded to laugh hysterically.
Roy cleared his throat, regained his composure, and tried to notice the chemistry between Pierre and Aiko.
’Did he confess? I can’t tell,’ he thought.
"Woo, that was fun!" Sakamoto exclaimed and grabbed Pierre and Roy. Meanwhile, the girls walked together.
"I bet you had some fun with your girl, right?" Sakamoto said loudly, making sure Utahime heard.
"N-Nothing of the sort happened!" Roy yelled.
"Okay, okay. Don’t bite me." Sakamoto laughed, and Himari came up and smacked him on the back of his head.
"Ouch. Ahaha~"
"Mind your tongue," Himari warned.
"Hey, did you tell her?" Sakamoto whispered, leaning his head closer to Pierre.
Pierre flinched and threw him and Roy a side glance.
"Not the right time. It’s still too early."
"Whaaaat? That was the perfect time. Right, Takahashi-kun?"
The group said their farewells, and since it was already getting dark, they split and went their various ways.
However, Roy tailed Pierre, who was tailing Yoshida Aiko, the Class Rep.
Oddly enough, Suzuki Kyouno spotted Pierre, and he went home with her. Roy saw the handsome brat had a sly smile on his face, thinking he had prevented the problem.
But Roy knew better.
"What is the logical step to take? Follow Pierre to make sure Suzuki Kyouno doesn’t kill him, or follow Aiko, or go home?" Roy quickly wrote down on a notepad.
"Answer: Follow Aiko. There is still another suspect other than Suzuki Kyouno. Murasame Daichi."
’Exactly what I was thinking. But I have a better idea.’
