Chapter 140: A Mysterious Figure

Down in the swamp, the fused monolith detonated. Yet, it produced no fire or stone shrapnel.

The dark rock shattered into floating, corrupted pixels.

A humanoid figure stepped from the digital ruins. The entity possessed no physical features or organic biology. It was a localized silhouette of pure, deleting code. Violet static bled constantly from its pixelated limbs.

Old-Shell unleashed a furious roar, digging his massive claws deep into the swamp mud to launch his hulking body forward. The colossal reptile lowered his head and drove his newly hardened, emerald-infused horn directly toward the center of the pixelated entity.

The Avatar of the Hunger raised a single, static-covered hand to catch the charging Shell-kin by the tip of the horn. The impact produced zero physical feedback or flying debris. The indestructible Star-Iron carapace simply ceased to exist upon contact, dissolving into a cloud of floating violet pixels.

A massive chunk of Old-Shell’s reinforced dome vanished into pure static. The colossal beast shrieked, collapsing onto his front legs as his physical mass was literally deleted from the server.

Up in the Void instance, Red gripped the edges of his console so hard that it cracked.

He watched Old-Shell’s status block violently glitch on the primary screen. The beast’s health bar bypassed normal damage calculation entirely. The maximum capacity of the green bar physically shrank, permanently erased by the corrupted code.

’The glitch ignores damage mitigation and deletes everything. There is no way to defeat it as everything that touches him just disappears from existence. I thought gathering the fragments would stop it, but it just made it more powerful!’ Red panicked, a cold sweat breaking out across his neck.

"Get away from it!" Red shouted, slamming his fist against the terminal. "Treants, pull him back right now!"

Six Treants surged forward to intercept the threat, whipping their massive petrified branches in unison to create a tangled barricade between the Avatar and the fallen reptile.

The humanoid silhouette of static simply walked forward. As the iron-wood limbs made contact with the entity, the ancient branches dissolved into floating pixels.

The Avatar passed right through the towering monsters and left perfectly smooth holes straight through their wooden torsos.

The Treants collapsed into the swamp, their structural integrity completely compromised by the localized deletion.

Red dragged his faction roster onto the secondary screen, his eyes darting frantically across the active deployments.

Gorak was thousands of miles north in the permafrost. Iron-Scale remained stranded in the western canyons. Krug floated entirely unconscious inside a Bastion medical vat.

’I have absolutely no frontline fighters,’ Red thought, his teeth grinding together as he swiped through the empty deployment screens. ’Nothing down there can intercept an anomaly that erases matter.’

Down in the swamp, the Avatar stepped over the dissolving Treant branches. The entity reached its static-covered hand directly toward Old-Shell’s exposed, bleeding skull.

Red slammed both hands onto the Overseer terminal. He highlighted the entire deadlands quarantine grid and activated his [Modular Geography] trait. Millions of tons of swamp mud and bedrock instantly ripped upward to form a towering dome over Old-Shell.

The Avatar of the Hunger continued its forward march. It walked directly into the earthen barricade. The massive stone structure ceased to exist in a flurry of violet pixels upon contact.

Red frantically tapped his console, burning thousands of Divine Points to spawn alchemical artillery shells directly above the Avatar. The bio-gas explosives rained down in a continuous bombardment.

The Avatar raised a single pixelated finger toward the sky, and the game engine deleted the descending code before the explosives could even detonate.

"It erases the concept of an attack," Red muttered, his eyes tracking the vanishing artillery. "There is no way to damage it!"

Down in the physical realm, the Avatar closed the remaining distance. It placed its static-covered palm directly against Old-Shell’s exposed skull. The colossal beast let out an agonizing shriek as the violet static began rapidly consuming his remaining maximum health.

A blinding pillar of golden light suddenly struck the center of the swamp.

The violent impact completely overrode the violet static and physically threw the Avatar away from the dying reptile. A new humanoid silhouette coalesced in the crater. It consisted entirely of glowing, golden code.

Red leaned over his console and tracked the blinding energy signatures on the map. "What is that?"

The game engine offered no system blocks or identification tags. The golden entity possessed no name, no faction, and no decipherable origin point.

The Golden Figure casually tilted its featureless head. It raised a luminous hand and effortlessly slapped the Avatar of the Hunger across the face. The kinetic force behind the blow bypassed the deletion mechanic entirely, launching the glitch thousands of feet into the air.

Vanishing from the swamp, the Golden Figure instantaneously reappeared directly above the ascending anomaly.

Driving both fists downward, it spiked the target directly into the eastern ocean. The sheer impact parted the sea for miles. The crash exposed the deepest trenches of the continental shelf and sent a colossal tsunami surging outward.

Red tracked the violently spiking data feeds on his secondary monitor. "Look at the sheer scale of those parameters. That thing could sink the entire continent with a single command."

The Avatar of the Hunger recovered and launched a massive beam of deleting static upward from the ocean floor. The golden entity stood perfectly still and crossed its arms, allowing the violet beam to wash completely over its glowing form.

The corrupted code burned away harmlessly against the overwhelming golden aura.

"You cannot delete the foundation." A resonant, multi-layered voice echoed through the server itself. It vibrated directly out of the Void monitors.

The Golden Figure descended into the parted ocean and grabbed the Avatar by the throat. It physically dragged the glitch up the continental coastline, tearing a massive, glowing canyon through the eastern bedrock.

They breached the upper atmosphere in a fraction of a second. The impact left a trail of shattered clouds across the entire server grid. Boiling water erupted into the sky as massive geysers of steam and golden light illuminated the entire hemisphere.

Red stood rigid before his screens. His mind raced to calculate the exact power scaling of the two anomalies currently tearing his world apart. While the infant Void-Weaver sat beside the console and watched the battle with swirling emerald eyes, completely unfazed by the apocalyptic destruction.
