Gandru instantly glared angrily, staring intently at Lin Rui, knowing he could never kill him.

He was fully aware of the effects of the Eye of Light; once Lin Rui was killed, this Dark Supreme Treasure would directly vanish and be transported into the hands of some Tombyard Influence.

This scene made countless Elves gnash their teeth, as it was their Mother World Tree being harmed, an unforgivable crime.

And looking towards the countless Divine Titans whose strike burned through the roots, Gandru’s resolve became even more steadfast, for the Undead could not be allowed to reclaim the Eye of Light!

This was a hidden danger that could threaten the World Tree.

If hundreds of Divine Titans could burn through the roots of the World Tree, what if there were thousands? Tens of thousands?

If the recovered and fully restored Undead attacked the forest, couldn’t they smash the World Tree and destroy its foundation?

The Elf Empress had studied histories from other Planes, knowing that Elven’s Eternal Wells, Life Ancient Trees, Amber Trees, and such have been burned and destroyed by Evil Legions, ultimately causing the entire Elf force to suffer devastating damage and thereby decline irreparably.

Thus, the Empress took such lessons to heart, always advocating for the Life Ancient Tree not to move, as fixed defense would absolutely fail to hold.

Long periods of defense will lead to eventual loss! No one knew with what ability or opportunity the Evil Legion might penetrate the forest with the Power of Evil and destroy the World Tree.

Thus, the Empress’s strategy was always active defense, i.e., proactive attacks to weaken the threats of other forces, rendering them incapable of threatening the World Tree.

The ambitious Elf Empress was determined to make the forest replace the Saint Hall as the dominion of this world.

And being connected to the Earth Vein Crystal Core, the roots of the World Tree already spread across all the world’s lands and oceans. Densely packed roots covered every underground region of the planet.

Hence, the ability of the World Tree’s roots to travel across lands was utilized by the Elf Empress to the utmost.

Currently, under no circumstances could the Elves allow the Graveyard to reclaim the Eye of Light!

Gandru decisively raised his magic staff and told the Elven soldiers who had set up defenses, "Stop the Graveyard army, do not let the Pseudo-Emperor Setra approach."

With Gandru’s command, thousands of Tree-men immediately took root in the ground, and these Withered Wood Warriors quickly shifted into defense mode, layers of tough ancient wood fibers turning into a barrier more solid than steel, sheltering the Elves, Porcupines, Druids, Oak Forest Demons, and other units below.

This scene left the Golden Pansy Domain in awe.

Audrey looked on in amazement at the defense line quickly constructed by the Elf Race, exclaiming, "So units can have such exquisite and perfect coordination! Withered Wood Warriors directly transformed into fortresses, while the Elf Race’s ranged soldiers output from within the fortress established by the Withered Wood Warriors, Druids assisting with firepower, Oak Forest Demons aiding with shields and healing, not only allowing soldiers to output fully but also enabling continuous fortress repair."

A defense line built from fortifications was always more solid and difficult to shake than a battle array in the wild.

This coordination of the Elves truly inspired Lin Rui greatly.

Clearly, the various armies within the Golden Pansy Domain were still fighting independently, without much synergy.
