Global Islands: I'm The Sea God's Heir!-Chapter 40: Ch : The Day It Began
The invaders arrived exactly at the predicted time.
It was noon when the Sky Predators showed up.
The blue sky above Aquabyss was clear and serene.
But suddenly—
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
With rumbling sounds that shook the world, dozens of massive portals cracked open in space.
The serene blue sky suddenly turned dark, and chaotic lightning strikes echoed through the clouds.
From the portals emerged Sky Predators.
The familiar sight of black drakes with wings appeared in the sky.
Their power ranks ranged from Steward to Baron.
That was not the problem.
The problem was their numbers. There were hundreds of them, and more were still coming.
But the Aquabyss Domain was prepared.
Water Jet Crossbows were placed accordingly, and Tidal Barriers were raised to shield the blind spots.
More importantly, the little Water Swordsmen and Diamond Fist Barbarians were ready in perfect formation.
The Phoenix Descendants and the Dual-Headed Hydra stood before them, acting as secondary shields.
High-level foes would be handled by them.
At the very front were Naida and Aegis, riding above Milly and Billy.
In Aegis’ hand rested a heavy iron sword.
The moment the first Sky Predator fully emerged from the portal, Aegis raised his sword high.
The sea responded immediately.
"CRAAAAIN..."
With a low ancient roar from the depths of Aquabyss, tidal currents erupted violently.
The calm waters around the domain twisted into massive spirals, feeding energy directly into the defensive devices.
"Hold the formation," Aegis said calmly, yet his voice spread across the battlefield without effort.
"SCREEE!" Milly and Billy spread their wings wide beneath him, their crimson feathers blazing against the darkened sky.
On their Wind and water intertwined, forming a rotating current that kept Aegis and Naida perfectly balanced on their backs.
The Sky Predators did not wait.
"GRRRRR!"
With a loud unified roar, they charged down
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..
The Black drakes with oily wings descended like living meteors. Their mouths glowed with condensed elemental energy.
"Fire!" Naida commanded from Milly’s back.
Instantly, the Water Jet Crossbows roared.
"Buzzz! Buzz! Buzz!"
Compressed crossbows of water shot upward at terrifying speed, piercing straight through drake wings and skulls.
"Bang, bang..."
Several Sky Predators were torn apart midair, and their bodies crashed into the sea below in pieces.
But there were too many.
"Advance!" Aegis ordered.
Following their master’s order, the Water Swordsmen moved.
Thirty water swordsmans moved forward atop suspended water platforms.
Their cracked blades hummed as they slashed upward.
"Swish, swish, swoosh.."
Each swing sent crescent-shaped water arcs slicing through the sky.
Drakes that tried to dive low were cut apart before they could even reach the barriers.
Then the ground trembled.
"BARBARIANS!" Naida shouted.
The Diamond Fist Barbarians charged next.
They leaped from the sea floor with monstrous force.
Bam, bam, bam.
Their diamond fists smashed into incoming enemies with crushing force. One punch shattered a Baron-ranked drake’s chest armor, collapsing its ribcage inward before throwing the massive body back into the air like ragdoll.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Each impact sent shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.
"RRRRR!" The Sky Predators howled and their wings flared with poisonous energy.
Seeing their attacks from above, the Phoenix Descendants took flight.
Blazing Flames ignited the sky instantly.
Streams of golden fire rained down, burning through wings and scales alike. Even Baron-ranked predators screamed as phoenix fire ignored conventional defenses, reducing enemies to ash midflight.
The Dual-Headed Hydra couldn’t be outdone.
"Roarrr!" it also let out a louf battle cry from both mouths.
One head unleashed torrents of compressed water, the other spat high degree flames that melted flesh and bone.
Any predator foolish enough to approach it was erased within seconds.
Still, the portals kept disgorging enemies.
Hundreds became thousands.
That was when Aegis finally moved.
He stepped forward on Billy’s back.
Wind and Water swirled around his sword in a pefect synergy.
Buzz!
He swung simply, but it looked as though the sky itself split apart.
His Control over element and Mana was now at an unbelievable level.
That simple swing created vortex of Water and wind. As it traveled, it become colossal.
Gulp, gulp..
It swallowed dozens of Sky Predators at once, crushing them under unimaginable pressure before shredding their bodies into black mist.
The remaining drakes froze in midair as fear spread throughout their bones.
Aegis looked at them coldly.
"This is Aquabyss. You don’t invade it. You run away from it."
Buzz!
With a few more swings of his sword, the remaining drakes were destroyed into bits.

Bronze Coins piled into the thousands with each strike.
After just fifteen minutes, everything went calm.
Aegis and his followers stood amidst the broken remains of hundreds of drake corpses.
However, just as they thought everything was over—
RUUUUMMMMBBLLLLLLLE!
The thunder strike was unlike any other. It eclipsed all chaos over the Eternal Sky Realm.
All of a sudden, the whole realm was enveloped with a dark shaodow.
The portal that opened afterward was colossal, almost like a small black hole descending upon them.
It looked at the shattered world below with contempt and disdain.
Seeing the gargantuan portal, Aegis’ heart went cold. Every fiber of his being screamed danger.
At that moment, he understood that this wave wasn’t normal at all.

< I SENSE AN OLD FRIEND OF MINE! WHERE IS HE? >
The sound was like thunder to everyone’s ears. Almost every being, from children to the elderly, from monsters to beasts, every living existence in the Sky Realm heard it and understood what those foreign words meant.
It was as if the language itself was a Universal Tongue, one that no one could deny or resist.
And that voice came straight from the black hole above.
It carried an amused tone.
After hearing the voice, Naida’s face turned pale. Her eyes widened with raw horror. Not for herself, but for—
She immediately shouted, "Your Grace, RUN!"
But her voice was swallowed by a world-shattering noise.
CRRRRRAAAACCCCCKKK!
The World Barrier around the black hole broke apart.
And what emerged from the other side would be remembered in every heart, every mind that survived, until eternity.
This was also the day—
A Fiend God was born.
