Global Game: I Can Choose Instance Rewards-Chapter 203 - 200: I’m Freaking Here!
This matter seems simple, but it will definitely consume a lot of time, because he cannot recklessly kill monsters without choices here. Doing so would not only waste his energy, but also trap him in an abyss of endless bad rewards. This is why he is currently using the power of ice to suppress the surrounding monsters rather than killing them all outright.
The second reason is that he temporarily gave up searching for powerful monsters here, choosing instead to return to Rogge Town to take revenge on a deceitful noble. This is also the quickest way to find out what’s really going on with all he’s experienced.
"There must be more elite monsters in Aifilan’s ruins, and there should be more boss monsters like the dragon I encountered before. Staying here would surely yield considerable rewards... But I still have about five days, so there’s no need to rush... So, Mr. Rogen, here I come!"
With a brief contemplation, Wang Zhifan felt a surge of anger that needed to be prioritized, as he couldn’t tolerate someone who had tried to mess him over living even a minute longer!
"Red Deer!"
As soon as he made his decision, he shouted softly, and a spirited, handsome, chestnut-red horse broke through the void and appeared by his side, lifting its head to look at him.
"Fly in that direction as fast as possible!"
Wang Zhifan then lightly leaped onto the back of the Red Deer Horse and issued the command for it to set out at maximum speed!
Soon, a red silhouette shot through the sky of the ruins like lightning, heading in a specific direction.
At the same time, the NPCs and players from Wang Zhifan’s former party were also rapidly traversing through groups of monsters frozen by the ice, trying to leave this dangerous place as quickly as possible.
Soon enough, they would completely pass through the temporary safe zone Wang Zhifan created for them, reaching the outskirts of the ruins unaffected by the ice’s power. At that time, without the aid of the All-Seeing Crystal, they would face significant trials in the descending darkness, and possibly many would fall to nighttime monster attacks. Yet, they had already survived the most perilous stage, and there was a fragment of hope for survival on the path ahead, no matter how difficult.
Meanwhile, in Rogge Town thousands of miles away, three players along with nearly a hundred thousand Rogge Town NPCs were engaged in a cage match against the demons constantly pouring out of the Dark Rift.
"Damn! There are monsters everywhere! How the hell can we fight this! I’m out of bullets and there are still more monsters!"
At that very moment, in a nondescript house on a street in Rogge Town, a gunman player was hiding inside. As he reloaded the clip of his rifle, he loudly complained to his fellow gunman beside him.
"That’s why we can’t fight head-on! Hide if you can! Save your bullets! Survive the remaining five days, and we can leave this purgatory!"
Another gunman replied loudly.
They spoke loudly without lowering their voices for concealment because Rogge Town had already turned into a living hell, filled with various noisy and terrifying sounds.
Endless monsters were rushing out of the Dark Rift, making all kinds of furious or excited roars, assaulting almost every corner of the town.
Some used their large, savage bodies to knock down buildings and swallowed the struggling residents or mutilated corpses inside, relishing the taste of fresh flesh and blood.
Some madly chased the guards of Rogge Town on the streets, tearing them apart whether they fought back with all their might or ran for their lives, leaving large puddles of bloody flesh and blood.
Some broke through the doors and windows of residents of Rogge Town with their powerful claws and agile bodies, attacking swiftly, subjecting the small, weak residents to massive, painful deaths amid screams.
Some formidable professional NPCs were also fiercely fighting back, trying their best to destroy nearby enemies, but the vast gap in power and numbers already sealed their fate. In a place fully locked down by sturdy barriers, escape was impossible, and a cruel, painful death was everyone’s shared destiny.
Boom! Boom!
After the two gunmen finished their conversation, they heard a loud rumble at the entrance of the house they were hiding in, and the ground began to shake.
"Not good! The house is about to collapse! Let’s run!"
The two immediately realized that their current refuge was unsafe, quickly moving a cabinet aside and jumping through the window.
But as soon as they exited the window, they were confronted by grotesque monster heads and paws staring at them. As soon as these monsters spotted them, they charged forward, extending long, sharp claws towards their bodies, while the gaping toothy mouths on their massive heads spewed out foul-smelling slime.
"Die you bastards!"
One of the gunman, seeing this, rolled on the ground to avoid the flying foul liquid, then threw a grenade, annihilating the waiting enemies with a powerful explosion.
The other gunman, after dodging the slime attack, wasn’t idle either. He quickly raised his gun and frantically shot at another wave of enemies from above.
Those were dozens of giant mosquito-like demons. They flew fast, and as soon as they spotted the two on the street, they swarmed in, intent on tearing them to shreds.
Fortunately, the two gunmen had terrifyingly precise marksmanship, with each bullet they fired taking down the nearest demons, rapidly reducing their numbers.
"Run! More monsters are coming!"
Before they could completely eliminate the flying demons, one gunman suddenly yelled a warning and turned to flee because he noticed a new large group of monsters targeting them from afar.
"Damn! Wait for me!"
The other gunman, seeing this, quickly shot rapidly, trying to reduce the approaching flying monsters, then threw a smoke grenade to create some cover for his escape, and quickly followed.
They sprinted along the street, with the surroundings full of carcasses and bloodstains, occasionally encountering monster’s corpses. But they paid no attention to these, focusing solely on running and desperately searching for any shelter around.
Suddenly, a few terrified figures appeared ahead — some lucky residents of Rogge Town who had escaped their homes. Seeing the two players running over, they exclaimed in delight:
"Professionals! Please help us! We need protection!"
But their response was the sudden gunfire from the two gunman players!
With a few screams, these Rogge Town residents fell to the ground, clutching their legs and rolling, before being quickly overwhelmed by the wave of pursuing monsters.
"With those guys delaying the monsters behind us, our pressure should be slightly reduced."
The two smoothly got out of the monsters’ sight, finding a relatively calm street.
After a brief search, they cautiously pushed open a door, soon hearing a rustling sound from deeper inside, like some small animal eating.
"Rats?"
One of the gunmen guessed internally.
But as he opened the door to the source of the sound, he saw a near-human-shaped twisted monster with hundreds of black tentacles extending from its back, tightly wrapping three NPC residents filled with agony and despair. Those subtle sounds were the sharp mouths on the tentacles constantly gnawing at their flesh and blood!
"Sorry to disturb! We’re leaving!"
Their first reaction upon seeing this scene was not to attack the monster but to turn and run because they realized this monster was no ordinary foe, at least an elite creature.
However, escaping wasn’t so easy at this point. Just a couple of seconds after they left, they discovered dozens of tentacles silently pursuing them.
