Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan-Chapter 43: Conclusion of the Three-Day Tour, Chief and Contract
[Today’s playtime is over. Forced logout initiated.]
[Please set your character’s behavioral parameters for the offline period.]
(Conservative OR Aggressive)
When the game screen went dark, Lince looked at the familiar text and chose "Aggressive" without a moment’s hesitation.
[Aggressive mode confirmed. Please specify the scope of operations.]
???
’I can finally define the scope and extent of the behavioral parameters?’
’Or has the Aggressive option always allowed for this level of detail?’
Previously, to be safe, Lince had always used the few moments of consciousness before logging out to mutter tasks for his Rock Steel Giant, like ordering it to clear out the Wilderness Demon Beasts.
’But now, I can actually type it in directly?’
Talk about perfect timing.
Whatever the reason, Lince immediately began typing furiously.
[Directives: Subjugate all Demon Beasts below the Demon Beast Mountain Range. As long as it is within the Wilderness Territory—be it grassland, jungle, or underwater—expand outward from the Swamp Territory and force their submission. Those who refuse to submit will die!]
[Subjugated Demon Beasts are to maintain their territories. Demon Cores and Magic Crystals obtained during this process are to be used to strengthen the Forest Wolf and the Giant-toothed Rat King. Furthermore, minimize all commotion and do not reveal the Rock Steel Giant form to others.]
[Aggressive Operations Set]
Once Lince finished entering his brief directives, a completion prompt immediately appeared on the black screen.
Then came the daily reward!
Golden text slowly materialized against the black background.
[Congratulations, Player, for completing Day Three of the game.]
[Due to the increase in your character’s power, your Character Card will now be upgraded accordingly.]
[Congratulations, Player, on acquiring a new contracted entity. You will now receive a corresponding Servant Card reward.]
After the three lines of golden text appeared, they suddenly merged into a single stream of light that shot out from the screen.
A familiar scene unfolded.
Right before Lince’s eyes, his Rock Dragon Giant Lizard Character Card levitated in the air.
A golden light washed over the card from top to bottom, initiating a transformation.
The art on the card’s face changed from a Rock Dragon Giant Lizard to a Rock Steel Giant.
Meanwhile, the Rock Steel Giant’s Attributes now appeared on the back.
Five-star Potential, all Skills fully updated. This meant the Power Lince could wield in reality had just been massively enhanced in an instant.
The other two Servant Cards were for the Forest Wolf and the Unihorned Demon Bear.
One card was white, the other yellow.
[Magic Pet Card]
[Forest Wolf]
[Star Level: ★★]
[Equivalent Tier: Tier Two]
[Attribute: Wood]
[Skills: 1. Rapid Recovery; 2. Environmental Mimicry; 3. Vine Entanglement.]

2. This Magic Pet Card can only be used on canids. The host canid will gain 5% of the card’s base power.
3. Ultimate ownership of this Magic Pet Card belongs to Player ’Lince.’ It is transferable but cannot be dropped.]
(Note: When this card is used, the Player is in complete control. It can be used on any nearby canid, which will then completely obey the Player’s commands.)
’Well, great.’ Looking at the card, Lince realized that if he contracted too many Demon Beasts in the future, he’d have to raise a whole menagerie of pets just to use their cards!
’First a rat, and now a dog?’
Then, as if realizing something, his expression changed and he quickly picked up the other card.
[Magic Pet Card]
[Unihorned Demon Bear]
[Star Level: ★★★]
[Equivalent Tier: Tier Four]
[Attribute: Dark]
[Skills: 1. Sound Wave Cannon, 2. Giant Power, 3. Dark Energy Erosion]

(Note: When this card is used, the Player is in complete control. It can be used on any nearby ursid, which will then completely obey the Player’s commands.)
I’m so screwed!!!
’So now I’m supposed to raise a bear?’
In the Human Alliance, you could legally own a bear, but they were incredibly expensive. Just thinking about the cost of food and the cleanup made Lince’s skin crawl.
"You can both go collect dust!"
Lince was completely exasperated.
Forget raising a bear, Lince had never even considered getting a dog.
After all, setting aside the expense and the hassle of raising them, he couldn’t stand the smell of dogs and bears, let alone all the shedding.
Therefore, without a second thought, Lince decided to let both cards collect dust.
In any case, with his current Rock Steel Giant Character Card, Lince didn’t need to worry about being underpowered.
By the time a situation arose where he might actually need these cards, they probably wouldn’t be strong enough to be useful anyway.
’Besides, I don’t necessarily have to own the animals myself. Plenty of people in the neighborhood have dogs.’
’When the time comes, why not just secretly borrow one for free? Perfect.’
’As for bears... fewer people own those, but it’s no big deal. An opportunity is bound to pop up. Or maybe, when I’m rich, I can just have a pet shop board one for me.’
With that thought, Lince felt much better about the situation.
However, just when Lince thought it was all over...
New golden text appeared on the black computer screen once more.
[Congratulations, Player, your character has advanced to the Middle Tier. You have obtained a limited hidden reward for the closed beta. The current beta’s Inference Day will be extended to four hundred days.]
[Hidden Reward: Elite Chief Player (Limited Title Badge)]
(Note 1: This Chief title badge is exclusive to the first player to reach the Middle Tier during the first closed beta. It is visible to all but cannot be dropped, transferred, or destroyed.)
(Note 2: When wearing the badge, the Elite Chief Player can bypass the privacy of other Players’ Character Cards in the real world. You can also inspect the Character Card information of any nearby Player.)
(Note 3: When wearing the badge during the first closed beta, the Chief Player will suppress all other individual Players in combat, both in reality and in the game, weakening their Attributes by 25%. This badge’s Ability will be adjusted in subsequent beta phases.) 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
As Lince stared blankly at the reward text on the screen, it suddenly transformed into a golden radiance.
The light flared and quickly coalesced into a single point. Then, a round badge, shimmering with a brilliant, iridescent light, emerged from the computer screen, passing into the real world as if through a rippling surface of water.
The badge quickly fell into Lince’s outstretched palm.
The badge was circular, five centimeters in diameter. The front was imprinted with a dragon’s head, while the back bore the logo of True Game.
Looking at the badge in his hand, a satisfied smile finally spread across Lince’s face.
"Finally, a reward that’s actually what I wanted!"
Just as a delighted smile graced Lince’s lips, something unexpected happened—the rewards weren’t over yet!
This time, Lince was truly dumbfounded.
On the pitch-black screen, golden text appeared yet again.
[Congratulations, Player, for being the first to contract a Middle Tier entity. You have obtained a hidden reward for the closed beta.]
[Hidden Reward: Contract Scroll: Master and Servant]
(Contract Scroll: Master and Servant: A limited reward for the first ten players to contract a Middle Tier entity. The Player can use this scroll to form a Master-Servant Contract with any entity in the real world. The contract requires the completely voluntary and heartfelt consent of the other party. If any form of coercion is detected, the contract will fail.)
(Note: This scroll is for the exclusive use of Player ’Lince’. It cannot be dropped or transferred and will be destroyed after a single use.)
His heart pounded, his hands trembled.
When a scroll that felt like parchment materialized in his hands, Lince was so overwhelmed he didn’t even know what expression to make.
