Chapter 207: Chapter 203: Set Ablaze (1)

"We’ve found him."

That single sentence was displayed across all the Collective’s forces spread throughout the galaxy, along with a short video feed showing Blaze in an unknown form.

It had been years since they had a confirmed sighting of the one being who fooled the Collective. Over the years, the ’craze’ surrounding Blaze had dissipated since they had other things to worry about.

Especially a new faction of equally intelligent beings that had invaded their galaxy. They called themselves the Xyrans and claimed to be the old rulers of the galaxy who had returned to reclaim the ’mantle’, whatever it was.

Before, the Collective would have laughed at their strange claim, but after engaging with them, they knew these Xyrans were like the weaklings they were used to fighting.

Hence, the Collective had been so engrossed in fighting them off that they had forgotten about Blaze.

However, they didn’t rush to Sadarla upon seeing the feed. After all, the only similarity between Blaze and the ’heretic god’ was their fleshy tentacles.

Besides, the one they were after was a zombie, not a living, breathing creature like the one in the video. Still, since it was the only clue they had, all the ships they could spare were sent to Sadarla to investigate and perhaps wipe out the darn planet if they found any trace of Blaze there.

Meanwhile, on Sadarla, Blaze wasn’t a fool and already suspected the Collective was on the move. Hence, it was of grave importance for him to possess Kais’s body and stabilize himself before they got there.

Unfortunately for him, things wouldn’t be so easy.

"One god has become too strong," someone mumbled, looking around the dark table. "The imbalance of powers is quite... unsightly."

"Not just him, his forces have grown too large for comfort," another soul chimed in. "Joining forces to control them is a must."

"So what if he’s the prophesied god? For the sake of our people, I will trample on fate itself, let alone a half-baked prophecy."

Blaze’s recent acts of domination hadn’t gone unnoticed by the surrounding tribes and kingdoms. Knowing they couldn’t face off against the Deca alone, every other tribe had joint forces to make their god come to the table to discuss some protocols going ahead.

After all, until then, they had only been giving Deca and not receiving anything in return. Usually, they would have been at peace with it, but the signs of the great drought returning, coupled with Blaze’s actions, had scared them out of their wits.

They didn’t think for a moment that they would win against the Deca even after combining their forces. After all, Deca was the only place where ’supers’ were born.

A bunch of those supers alone were enough to destroy their individual armies. But since it was about their survival, the groups had no choice but to fight the Deca.

As long as they kept their involvement a secret, the Deca wouldn’t dare fight them all without concrete evidence. The group was so engrossed in planning that they didn’t notice the small mice quietly observing them. Their so-called idea of keeping it all under wraps had already blown apart.

Talk about poetic justice.

Blaze thought while operating on Kais’s body to make it adaptable. As for his words, he was referring to Deca’s earlier situation.

Years ago, they were the ones begging for resources, and now the entire continent wants to beg them for resources.

"Oh well, I’ve made them strong enough," Blaze mumbled and kept working on Kais. "They can fight this battle themselves."

***

In every battle, there was one evil party and the other, good party. Each party viewed the other as evil. At least, that was the case under usual circumstances.

Unfortunately, Deca was truly evil. One could say they were the personification of their god. After suffering for years and years, to them, even if they killed a child before their parents, it was merely the interest on the debt their family owed the Deca.

The once timid tribe had grown sharp fangs, ready to tear the world apart the moment it went against them. Naturally, it was all Blaze’s doing, after all, he controlled every aspect of their life.

The saying, "It’s all part of God’s plan", was true for them.

However, this time, their god was being selfish, leaving his subjects to fend for themselves. But that wasn’t the reason known to them.

The supers watched the gathering army in the distance.

Xilo sighed, knowing a battle of such a scale would definitely devastate the Deca. But they had no choice but to fight alone.

"The Lord is in slumber..." he mumbled, looking behind at the capital they had established.

Their god had overexerted himself in the last fight and was now in slumber, slowly cultivating a new body for himself.

"What are you worried about, Third Commander?" a child’s voice asked. "The Lord had made us strong for this reason. What are you afraid of?"

"Being afraid and being worried are two different concepts, little one," Xilo smiled, pinching the little boy’s rosy cheeks. "I’m not afraid of defeat, because there will be none. I’m merely expressing my thoughts about the potential losses we’d suffer."

The little one was called Asta. Biologically, he was Blaze’s son, but Xilo was the only father Asta had ever known.

That was the system in Deca. As soon as a child was born, they were separated from their birth parents.

For the first three years, all children were given the same resources. However, from the fourth year, those with better prospects were ’cultivated’ further.

At the sixth year mark, these children met their parents. Not their birth parents, but those based on established societal norms.

Children with better prospects went to families with better opportunities so they could be cultivated further. If they continued to excel, they received the authority to reproduce, which was viewed as the highest honor a family could get in their empire.

Xilo hoped Asta would bring that honor to his family, since he was the youngest ’super’ and the lord had high hopes for him.

"We’ll win this battle for the Lord!"
