Global Disaster: I Will Slay Gods In This Second Chance!-Chapter 94: Closer To The Truth
When Immortal Flesh Extinction’s description appeared in his mind, Zold’s heart stirred. From now on, he strayed from the path of The One Without Equal, instead walked on the path... of a Godslayer.
He called this brand new path of his, ’Godslayer’, his vision of the future. By the end of this path, he’d gain the power to kill the Nine Apostles and their God, ending this cycle of destruction once and for all.
"Huu..."
Zold let out a deep breath and cleared his thoughts, knowing that it would take a while for that to happen. After a moment, he examined his own body and summarized his gains.
After reaching the middle Vital Spark stage, Zold’s existence was solidified even more, a calm invisible pressure coming out from his gaze. When people catch a glance of him, they would feel an instinctive awe emerging from their hearts.
Zold frowned and retracted this pressure, reverting back to his previous state before ascension. His presence was becoming more and more harder to control, and by the next stage, he might not be able to hide it anymore.
’Troublesome.’
He wasn’t scared of anyone, but he didn’t like it when people looked at him.
Brushing aside such thoughts, Zold focused on his attributes instead.

STRENGTH: 180
SPEED: 180
DEFENSE: 180
SPIRIT: 180
LUCK: 25
COMPREHENSION: 11
EVOLUTION POINTS: 0

His four main attributes directly increased by 30 points. Just with his current body alone, he could defeat any Awakening stage awakener with ease, with the exception of specials of course.
Specials were S-rank talents, a singularity among awakeners. They would require more effort, but that just meant using some of his skills. Not even talent could bridge the gap of difference of stage.
Zold thought about something else.
With his first Origin covered, now all he needed was an actual weapon. He didn’t really need one, considering his strength, but it was better to have one than not. Some of his self-made skills were rotting, since most of them can only be used with a weapon.
For his weapon, he already mulled it over in the past week and decided it would be Tsukigare. Tsukigare was a famous katana in Nihono’s history. In the Second Era Ending Calamity, a Tier-II demonic spirit possessed it, turning it into a demonic armament.
Zold chose Tsukigare because he remembered clearly that this demonic armament could transform into any weapon, making it suited for him, who was a solo fighter most of the time.
But he would have to use the Demon Hunter Association’s intelligence to get it since he didn’t know where it was now.
’It’s already been a week since then.’
Zold suddenly glanced at his phone on the table, yet saw no notifications. A week had already passed since he led the 13th Demon Hunter Squad to clear Tsumogui, and the demonic armament Muramasa was stolen by an unknown awakener.
The deadline he set for Nagito had arrived silently, yet he didn’t receive any news from Nagito during this past week, except for when Shiho had delivered him his two Spirit Origins.
She had said that Nagito was occupied with the Ghost Towns, but was that really the case?
"Seems like I have to take matters into my own hands."
Zold furrowed his brows. Muramasa was important for his next Origin, even more important than Immortal Flesh Extinction.
While he was contemplating, a sudden knock echoed at his door, distracting him.
"Hm?"
Zold frowned, glancing at the door. He didn’t receive a message from anyone who would be visiting him today.
’Who is it?’
Just as he thought of this, a voice came from the door.
"It’s me, Captain Starks."
He recognized the voice immediately, his face turning strange. It was Nagito’s personal assistant, Shiho. He walked towards the door and opened it, confirming that it was indeed her.
Zold looked at her.
"What are you doing here?"
But Shiho’s next words made his heart stir.
"Captain Starks, we finally found some information about Muramasa!"
Zold didn’t answer right away. He looked at Shiho deeply, causing her to feel weak under the weight of his gaze. After a brief pause, he nodded, turning around as he invited her into his home.
"Come inside."
Shiho let out a sigh of relief, her nerves loosening. She hesitated for a moment but then followed him inside.

Once she entered his apartment, Zold closed the door from behind, startling her.
He suddenly recalled the state of his room after his ascension, warning her.
"I haven’t cleaned in a while, so be careful of your steps."
Confused, Shiho nodded. But when she turned around and saw the state of his apartment, she paused.
"..."
What was Captain Starks doing before she came here?!
Zold glanced at her strange expression, amused.
"Alright, do you want some coffee?"
Shiho quickly shook her head "... No, I apologize, but I can’t stay for long. The DHA is chaotic right now. The Chairman couldn’t call you since he’s in an important meeting with other nations, so he sent me."
"I understand." Zold nodded. "Speak then."
Hearing his blunt tone, Shiho nodded solemnly. She reported.
"From what we managed to gather, we were able to identify who currently possesses Muramasa."
Shiho ruffled through her bag, taking out several pictures printed in full color. She showed them to Zold.
"This is the person who we suspect was responsible for Master Kimoto’s sudden disappearance and the one who stole Muramasa. We aren’t able to find his identity or name, but we’re certain that he’s still in Nihono right now."
Zold glanced at the picture, seeing a young man around his age.
The young man had long white hair and crimson red eyes, exhibiting youthful arrogance. He held a red katana in his right hand as he stood in a destroyed environment.
Zold frowned, not recognizing the young man.
"Who took this picture?" He asked calmly.
Shiho replied with a hesitant tone. "It’s not us, or anyone in DHA... truth to be told Mr. Starks, we only found these pictures on the dark web."
Zold raised his brows, creasing slightly. "The dark web?"
In the Ninety-Nine Era Ending Calamities, it turned into a forum for rogue awakeners.
"Yes," Shiho nodded with a heavy expression. "These photos were posted by a user called Murakashi. He commissioned a request in the forums to find and retrieve Muramasa, which he claimed to be the Demon God Sword."
Her words grew heavier with each second. "But the problem is Murakashi didn’t just post them in Nihono’s dark web, but also throughout the world. Now... Nihono is in an extremely dangerous situation due to this commission."
The implication of it didn’t need to be mentioned. Rogue awakeners from all over the world were going to arrive in Nihono. Their numbers could reach hundreds, or even thousands.
Zold lowered his gaze, pondering quietly.
’Murakashi...’
He didn’t recognize anyone with that name.
Someone that could stir waves into the world couldn’t possibly remain unknown in his past life, so this could only mean one thing.
A regressor was targeting Nihono.
He was suspicious of this already and had warned Nagito back when the Demonic Spirit of Sentiment appeared. All of it was just too strange. He confirmed it when Muramasa was stolen and Kimoto disappeared.
’But this time, they’re not trying to hide anymore.’
Zold thought quietly. Did that mean they were close to achieving their goal? What was their goal in the first place? If they just wanted Muramasa, like him, then they didn’t need to target Nihono.
’A grudge against Nagito?’
After thinking for a while, he couldn’t arrive at a conclusion that satisfied him. Zold shook his head and finally spoke.
"I’ll handle this."
Shiho’s eyes widened slightly.
But Zold wasn’t finished yet. "In exchange, I’ll be investigating independently from now on. I want to have access to all the association’s intelligence network. I’ll handle retrieving Muramasa, but the other rogue awakeners are your problem."
Hearing that, Shiho frowned, her brows furrowing.
"B-but..."
"No buts. Either accept it or I won’t help at all." Zold shook his head. "Don’t think I don’t know you just got back from Olympira. Moreover, with all these rogue awakeners gathering, the other nations aren’t so idle to watch Nihono get destroyed."
"That..."
Shiho was startled, falling silent.
Indeed.
"I’ll naturally act if they stand in my way," Zold took the pictures. "But my focus will be on Muramasa. This is non-negotiable, understand? Even if you don’t, Nagito will, so just relay my intentions to him."
’How domineering...’
Shiho pursed her lips, inwardly sighing. She raised her head, seeing Zold’s calm gaze which can never be moved.
"Yes."
She nodded, accepting his demands.
"That’s settled then." Zold nodded slightly. He hid the photos in his pocket, then asked her casually. "Who did the other nations send this time?"
Shiho blinked, then answered. "They’re..."

’So this is Nihono... huh?’
In the Nihono airport, a blond-haired young man suddenly bumped into a pair of siblings.
He was just about to apologize, but then he immediately heard someone shout.
"Don’t let them escape!"
Hearing that, the blonde-haired young man was startled. He quickly arrived beside the pair of twins, grabbing the two of them.
But to his surprise, the girl managed to slip away from his grasp, grab his arm, and using it to pull him towards her and kick him in the face.
The blonde-haired young man was startled by her move. But he quickly turned into a blue lightning bolt, appearing behind the girl.
"You’re a... Martial Artist?"
He asked in shock.
The girl, Lia, suddenly showed a nervous expression. But hearing her brother’s groan of pain, she glared at the brown-haired middle-aged man and shouted.
"Let me and my brother go!"
At that moment, the security guards arrived.
"Sir... huu... Thank you... they’re unidentified intruders..."
One of them panted heavily, looking as if he had run a marathon. He looked at the brown-haired middle-aged man gratefully.
"We’ll take it from here, sir."
"...!"
Hearing that, Leo and Lia’s faces turned pale, their hearts falling.
The blonde-haired young man glanced at them, then smirked.
"Hm? Nah, these kids are with me."
"Huh?"
The security guard was startled.
But before they could ask further, the blonde-haired young man vanished with Leo and Lia, turning into a blue lightning that escaped the airport. He was so fast that they only saw a blur before he disappeared.
The security guards were dumbfounded, exchanging glances.
Outside the airport, the blonde-haired young man dropped the twins to the ground.
Leo and Lia groaned in pain, looking at the man resentfully.
"Huh?" The blonde-haired young man saw their expressions and smiled. "No need to thank me. I’m Kennedy James, also called Blue Lightning from the New World Protectors. Heard of me, kids?"
