For the remaining days of the Global Event, Kai and the rest of the team focused on staying within the shelter, venturing out only when necessary.

Whenever Field Tyrants drew too close, they coordinated swift hunts to drive them back. They couldn’t just let their shelter get run over by this large mechanized army after all.

On the sixth day, the ground trembled as another Tyrant approached.

Kai stood at the shelter gate, ready to deal with this...

’This time... I need to see how strong I am at Level 20. Atom will just be a support for now.’

"Everyone... It’s coming closer. Claire, Ralph... get your squads ready. Farrah, Alfie... you’re with me. Atom will deal with the Spyder Units hiding from afar. Let’s focus on the Tyrant and Sentinels!"

Claire adjusted her gloves and nodded. "Understood. We’ll take the left flank."

"We’re going right then..." Ralph added.

Soon, everyone made their move.

The battle began as the Tyrant’s Sentinel Escorts charged forward.

Thankfully, they do not have plasma rifles with them. They were only carrying blades, and that wouldn’t be enough to win against them.

’I guess you’re also running out of energy cells or ammunition for your rifles, huh...’ Kai thought as he knew that this was the best-case scenario.

Kai moved ahead as he activated Specter Step. His form blurred, reappearing behind the nearest Sentinel.

Then, he triggered Spirit Pulse by spending 70 SP points!

"Take this..."

Boom!

The skilled unleashing of a wave of energy that blasted the mechanical unit forward...

Farrah followed with her finishing blow!

Thud!

The Sentinel’s head was cut off mid-air!

"One down!"

Then, her Spirit Knight aura boosted her strength, and with just a wave of her blade, he slashed two Sentinels trying to get closer to Kai.

Alfie also charged forward... He was supposedly one of the tanks or damage dealer because of his Gladiator Talent, but his speed made him late!

Nonetheless, Gladiator talent amplified his strength and damage, so as long as he got a clean hit, he was confident to win against anyone.

Bam!

He slammed his hatchet into a Sentinel’s chest, and sparks flew everywhere... "Come on, you tin can!"

Claire also made her move against the Tyrant, and as she landed a thunderous punch on its armor. She realized that she had at least made a small dent.

"It’s tough... but not invincible..." She muttered as she just used a Gene Skill just now.

Soon, Ralph’s revolvers continued firing, eliminating all the Sentinels around the Tyrant.

His sharpshooter talent made every shot precise, piercing weak points in the escorts’ armors... Then, with his new Gene Skill, he didn’t even have any issue shooting with his left and right hands at the same time!

Just like that, the battle continued for some time, and of course, they all used their various Gene Skills in the process. Indeed, it wasn’t just Kai who had awakened new Gene Skills!

They were all eager to try their new Gene Skills!

Finally, after a grueling fight, the Tyrant finally collapsed, with its massive body shaking the ground.

"Whew... It’s a good thing I watched Atom how to fight... Targeting those weak points is really important." Kai muttered as he confirmed that he was left with almost zero Spirit Points during that battle. Thankfully, he was able to level up, so his Health and Spirit Points had been refilled already.

Still, by the eighth day, the team had grown more confident. Survivor Medals flowed steadily from their hunts, and Kai ensured they were traded wisely.

Farrah examined her new goggles. "The bullets and these goggles were worth every Medal. I can see the Spyders and hunt them at night before they even move."

Kai smiled faintly after hearing this. "Good. We’ll need every edge we can get."

"Stay alert. The event’s almost over, but the Mech Army won’t stop until the countdown ends."

On the final day, the tension was intense.

They had just fought two more Tyrants...

The shelter residents worked tirelessly, reinforcing barricades and preparing supplies.

One of the Haven‑62 locals muttered nervously, "Do we really have to fight again? Haven’t we done enough?"

Alfie placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don’t give up... After this, I’m sure we will be rewarded well... Every battle we win keeps this shelter safe."

Farrah added firmly, "And every Medal we earn makes us stronger. Don’t forget that."

Alfie grinned...

Claire raised her voice to her squad. "Final day. Let’s show them what our shelter can do."

The team moved out one last time.

They couldn’t just wait until their shelter got targeted again. Using their shelter as a battlefield was already too much!

It was already battered at this point, so they had to bring the battle elsewhere...

Of course, during this time, they even used plenty of smoke grenades to blind the enemy and hide their shelter while they were out.

Outside the shelter, they also hunted several more Field Tyrants that had suddenly become more active for some reason.

Soon after, the system notification appeared before them all...
