The shopkeeper blinked as he looked at his customer and the rifle he was holding. Currently, all the Survivors already have their own guns.

It wouldn't be surprising if they had two or three of them in their possession since guns were already quite cheap... After all, these firearms were only effective on low-tier Zombies and a little bit useful against mid-tier Zombies.

If it were used against high-tier Zombies, it would only give disappointing results. Because of that, most of the people buying guns would normally be those people who were just looking for a replacement. Buying more than five of them was already quite unusual.

"Bulk?"

"I require fifty. Modifiable triggers. No need for comfort adjustments—my soldiers lack flesh."

The man looked at Asad once again. "Your… soldiers?"

Asad smiled as he summoned one Skeleton Soldier.

"Ohhh! A Necromancer! Awesome!" The shopkeeper wasn't afraid after realizing that his customer could summon a skeleton.

He had seen a flying dragon, modified humans, elves, and even someone who could summon a ghost a few days ago, so a skeleton wasn't that surprising anymore.

Seeing that the shopkeeper had no issue selling a lot of weapons, Asad tossed a pouch of Spirit Stones onto the counter—far more than necessary.

"I also need ammunition."

Soon, five crates containing rifles and ammunition had been arranged. Asad had basically purchased more than half of the man's products.

"Thank you for your business."

As Asad turned to leave, his gaze fell on a display case of explosive rounds.

'…Maybe I'll take those too.'

A few hours later, back in his Black Citadel, the name he finally decided to call his shelter, Asad observed his newest experiment…

He couldn't help but smile seeing that twenty skeleton warriors, each holding a rifle with oversized gloves strapped to their bony hands to prevent slippage.

"Aim…" he commanded.

The skeletons awkwardly raised their guns, some tilting sideways as their empty eye sockets "stared" down the sights.

"Fire."

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The shots went wild—one skeleton's recoil sent its skull flying off, and another's rifle jammed immediately. A single round actually hit the target, punching through a ghoul's chest, which was impressive, considering the ghoul hadn't been part of the test…

Asad sighed. "We have work to do."

But he was pleased.

Soon, Eclipse Domain or Shane's shelters wouldn't be the only place with automated turrets, or if he could call them that.

Another day had quickly passed and Shane was finally freed from his curse.

It was a pity that he didn't get any more Orb of Undead Summoning. However, thanks to the peaceful days that followed, all his shelters were able to advance steadily.

Now that their population had grown almost twice its previous size, it was obvious that he needed more structures to handle everyone. He had to create more jobs, obtain more resources, and create more entertainment establishments, so his people wouldn't be depressed living in his shelter.

After three months had passed, as everyone had gotten used to their daily lives with minimal encounters with Zombies, something unexpected happened.

It all started when they received notification about the 100th Zombie Lord Kill.

[ Announcement: ]

[ Survivor "Ghost Warden" has achieved the 100th Kill of a Lord-Tier Zombie! ]

[ Entity Defeated: Three-Headed Grinder ]

[ Exclusive Rewards Unlocked! Glory to the Slayer of Three-Headed Grinder! ]

Ghost Warden was Natalie Cross of the New Haven Clan. It was no longer surprising since the top 20 of the Leaderboard were the ones killing these Lord-Tier Zombies over the past few months.

As a matter of fact, Shane had already killed a total of 8 Zombie Lords while his Eclipse Revenant Clan had a total kill of 30 Zombie Lords, including other members like Raze, Tundra, Layla, Elsa, and even Max.

All of them combined had a total of 30 Zombie Lord Kills.

In any case, just like before, the people were still quite happy knowing that Zombie Lords were being killed.

The number of level 50 Survivors had also increased rapidly thanks to the steady supply of weaponry in the Marketplace. It could be said that weapons are no longer a problem when it comes to Zombie Hunting.

Then, with the Zombie Cores getting a lot easier to obtain, they could now purchase almost all of the items within Survivor Stores.

Nonetheless, it seemed that this wouldn't last very long as a familiar chime from the system had finally appeared—a sound every survivor had learned to dread.

After all, most of the time, a system announcement would contain news related to Zombie Wave, Boss Raid, Zombie Challenge, or other events that could cost them their lives.

[ Attention All Survivors ]

[ The Fourth Zombie Wave will commence in: 15 Days ]

[ Estimated Threat: The intensity of the Zombie Wave will be directly linked to the size of your camp or shelter. The larger your sanctuary, the more formidable the undead horde.

[ Recommended Preparations: Fortify Shelters, Stockpile resources, Recruit more survivors ]

[ Note: Survivor Store, Chat Board, Survivor Leaderboard, and Marketplace would not be available during the Zombie Wave. New Zombie Mutations will also appear. ]

Shane's fingers tightened as he read the announcement of the system. Around him, his close aides—Captain Flint, Diana, Sandra, and Aya—exchanged grim looks.

They were simply having a meeting about their next expansion. They had actually started creating their fourth outer wall to create more space in the Eclipse Domain. It would also add protection to their distillation tower.

However, it seemed that they had to either hasten its construction or stop if for now and wait for the Zombie Wave to be over.

"Fifteen days," Flint muttered. "That's not enough time to complete the eastern to southern wall."

Because this was already the fourth outer wall, it was already a lot larger than before. Furthermore, they weren't just making a palisade, they were making a stone wall and Shane was even planning to create a moat for added safety.

Shane considered for a moment as it seemed that he had to get more laborers from other shelters.

"Then, we will prioritize the construction. Sandra—I need you to coordinate with the elves to scout the nearest horde movements. Diana, double production on ballista rounds and explosives. Aya, start mass-producing barrier talismans."

Sandra nodded as she knew that it was important to lessen the number of Zombies nearby before the Zombie Wave could start. freёnovelkiss.com

"Just leave it to me… If you give more Mana Crystals, I can cover a lot more areas as well."

"Alright…" Shane replied.

Aya nodded as she had been producing those talismans tirelessly over the past few days…

Shane then smiled as he decided to visit his other shelters, New Genesis, Silver Mine Camp, and Springriver Manor, to ensure that everyone would be prepared.

In the meantime, in Asad's Black Citadel deep underground, a group of Skeleton Gun Squad stopped their training as Asad read the system notification.

"So the fourth Zombie Wave is finally here… It's just right on schedule."

Asad muttered as he felt a bit excited about this. He would be able to get tons of rewards during such events.

Every Zombie Wave was a huge blessing for him!

After all, he was basically alone.

Before the Zombie Wave starts, he would unsummon all of his undead creatures, and the system would just count his population as one. Because of that, the size of his Zombie Wave wouldn't be a huge number, considering the system's arrangement for the Zombie Wave…

It would only be after the Zombie Wave had arrived he would summon those undead creatures from his Grimoire. With this method, his Zombie Wave was a lot more manageable while also receiving a huge reward.

"Let's see how those firearm experiments hold up against a real horde, shall we?" He mused…

In the meantime, as the notification was read by everyone, the Regional Chat had exploded.

[ Alice Mae: Did everyone just hear that? Fourth Wave in 15 days… This isn't like the last ones. System said 'new mutations.' Anyone got intel? ]

[ Travis: Yeah, we saw it. My scouts just reported the movement of Wild Shelters. Do you think they also received the same message? ]

[ Daniella: Great. Just great. Last Wave isn't a good memory… I hope they don't include flying zombies that spit acid, right? ]

[ Natalie: Actually… My team spotted something flying near the Gorge of Oath yesterday. And yes, I think they can spit out nasty things mid-air. Be careful. ]

[ Charlie: Oh, come on, Natalie. Don't jinx us. If we get Flying Spitter Zombies, I'm digging a hole and living in it. ]

Many of the readers had the same thought as they simply couldn't imagine surviving against 100 Flying Spitter Zombies.

[ Grace: Priorities, people! What's the play here? Solo shelters won't last. Any alliances forming?"

[ Liam: Ask those with bigger shelters. I heard Shadow Strider's shelters had walls that could tank a meteor, but good luck getting in. I heard you have to sell your kidney or something before you can get a Temporary Residence Permit. ]

[ Sandra: Hey, that's not true. Although it's pricey, it's not as expensive as a kidney… We also take in useful people. Got a Talent that we need? Prove it. Otherwise, stop whining and build your own damn walls. ]
