Chapter 1105: Alexander’s Threat and the Super Potion

Alexander sat alone in his chamber...

He had just gotten the reports from his scouts and he wasn’t feeling good right now.

He needed to buy more time.

"Tsk... They’re moving a lot faster than I expected. I should delay this even just for two or three more days." He muttered as he looked at the faint glow of dragon blood vials illuminating his desk.

The laboratory outside was still buzzing with alchemists working furiously, but he knew they needed more time.

Every hour mattered. If Shane’s people succeeded in rescuing Roan, the entire plan, the elixirs, the poison mist, and the armor would collapse before it was complete.

He opened his interface, scrolling through his contacts. Shane’s name was there...

It was during the time of the auction when they had once crossed paths. They weren’t friends, but as fellow clan leaders, they had added each other. In this world, having contacts was survival.

Alexander’s fingers hovered for a moment before he finally typed a message.

[ Alexander: I know you’ve sent your people here to rescue Roan. But I will kill that dragon if you don’t send those people back. ]

He stared at the words. He knew this threat wouldn’t be effective. Shane wasn’t the type to bend to blackmail. But Alexander had to do something... anything just to buy time for his alchemists.

The reply came after five minutes or so...

[ Shane: Kill him then. Do it. I dare you. ]

Alexander’s jaw tightened. He typed again, refusing to back down.

[ Alexander: Don’t test me. Roan’s blood, his scales, his essence... they’re mine now. But if you are willing to pay ransom, I can return him after six months. If you keep pressing, I’ll end him before you ever reach Ghoul Shelter. ]

Shane’s response was sharp, almost mocking.

[ Shane: You think I care about your threats? If Roan dies, you lose the only leverage you have. You’ll have wasted your chance... And when that happens, I’ll come for you myself. ]

Alexander’s hand clenched around the vials beside him. He knew Shane was right. Killing Roan would rob Phoenix Phalanx of its greatest resource. But he couldn’t show weakness.

[ Alexander: You underestimate me. Even without Roan, Phoenix Phalanx will crush your people. My forces are already moving. You won’t reach Ghoul Shelter alive. ]

[ Shane: Your forces? You mean the ones Lysandra is tearing apart right now? I heard they’re already finished. You’ve lost your elites, Alexander. All you have left is that dragon chained in your hall. ]

Alexander’s eyes narrowed. Although those three weren’t his only elites, they were a huge part of it. Those three forces were about 30% of their elite warriors.

Their defeat was indeed a huge blow to him. At the very least, he was now aware that Shane’s forces were close! They were at least three days faster than they had expected.

[ Alexander: Do you really think they were defeated just like that? ]

[ Shane: Oh? Are you trying to bluff now? That won’t work. Just wait for the message from your commanders. You’ll learned how quickly they fell. The only way you’d at least get less damage, is when you hand over Roan and have your Clan disband... Of course, you also need to offer yourself. You’ll be in prison, but at least you won’t be dying. ]

Of course, Shane didn’t include the part that Alexander would get a little bit of torture for hurting Raze and Roan.

Alexander’s breath grew heavy. He certainly had several plans with him...

Once he had successfully made the potion, he would actually have five more clans who would be willing to support him!

That was what he was aiming for!

Right now, he only had the support of three other Top Ranking Clans, but once he got another five through the production of Dragon Potion, he knew that he would have a chance to win against Shane’s Eclipse Revenant Clan!

He may not be able to conquer Shane’s base, but he would have the chance to protect his shelter with the Clans’ assistance!

As a matter of fact, that was their only way of winning against this powerful Clan!

[ Alexander: Roan is still mine. His blood is important to us... How about I give you half of Roan? We buy the other half for 10 Talent Expansion Scrolls, and 10 Random Talent Crystals. If we continue fighting, there will just be too many deaths on both of our sides. ]

Alexander’s fingers hovered over the interface, his last message offering a desperate compromise...

Half of Roan in exchange for rare scrolls and crystals. He thought perhaps Shane would at least consider it, if only to avoid bloodshed.

The reply came swiftly.

Well, he was actually consulting with Raze as well!

It means that all this conversation was being watched by Roan’s owner. Because of that, Shane’s reply was aggressive!

[ Shane: Half of Roan? You think you can bargain with me over a living being? He’s not yours to sell, Alexander. He’s not a commodity. And you dare to put a price tag on him? ]

Alexander frowned. He didn’t like how Shane wasn’t practical about this. His offer just now was only a starter... He was actually planning to give more but this guy wasn’t giving him any wiggle room at all.

[ Alexander: I’m offering you a way to avoid unnecessary deaths. If we continue fighting, both sides will bleed. Isn’t it better to settle this with trade? ]

[ Shane: Trade? You chained him, drained his blood, and maybe even stripped his scales, and now you want to "trade"? That’s not negotiation, that’s desecration. You’ve already crossed the line, Alexander. There’s no bargain left. ]

Alexander’s hand clenched around the vials beside him. He knew Shane was furious, but he pressed on.

[ Alexander: Think carefully. If Roan dies, you lose everything. ]

Shane was done with this. All he could do was threaten him.

[ Shane: Kill him then if you dare. ]

[ Alexander: ... ]

[ Shane: Enough. All you’ve done is seal your fate. ]

The chat ended abruptly.

Alexander sat back, his hands trembling with fury. He had tried to buy time, but instead he had provoked Shane further.

His attempt at blackmail had failed, his offer of ransom had been spat on, and his bargaining had only enraged his enemy.

Now, instead of delaying the inevitable, he had probably accelerated it.

After stretching his neck, Alexander was about to contact his allied clans and discuss this matter...

However, it was at this point that a messenger he had assigned in the laboratory finally arrived with good news!

***

A few hours earlier, while Alexander was still managing the defenses of the Ghoul Shelter and waiting for the scouts’ reports, the laboratory had become very busy...

Among the alchemists, one figure stood out. He was Maximillian, a senior craftsman whose hands had not stopped moving for days.

He had been tasked with the most critical work, refining the volatile dragon blood into a usable elixir. Every drop was dangerous, threatening to burn through flesh or corrupt the mind if handled improperly. But Maximillian was meticulous, his focus unbroken even as exhaustion weighed on him.

Furthermore, he had an Epic-Grade Potion Brewer Talent! It was not a broad Alchemist Talent but a specific potion brewer.

He had used many ingredients but in the end, he came up with a few that would help their dragon potion.

Aside from the Dragon Blood, he had Spirit Threads meant to bind unstable energy. There were also Forest minerals, rare ores that stabilized the mixture.

Then, he also used stone fire fragments from the Fire King Zombie, used to temper the brew.

Lastly, the cursed herbs, ground into powder to balance the potency.

For hours, Maximillian worked, adjusting the heat and binding the energies together.

The potion shifted colors, from violent red, to molten gold, to a deep, steady azure.

Finally, as the last ingredient was put into the cauldron, the liquid settled into a radiant glow.

Soon, he used his own Survivor Skills called Potion Blessing and Brewer’s Luck!

After some time, he lifted the vial carefully...

"This should be enough, right? I timed everything perfectly."

Soon, the appraisal window opened before him, revealing the name and description of the creation.

[ Elixir of Draconic Vitality: A potion forged from dragon blood and tempered with rare materials. Drinking it infuses the body with fragments of draconic essence, strengthening flesh, spirit, and mind. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Effects:

Permanently increases Strength, Endurance, and Vitality by 300%.

Grants temporary Dragon’s Resilience: immunity to fire and resistance to magic for 24 hours.

Unlocks a passive skill: Draconic Pulse, which accelerates healing and boosts combat power.

Side effect: The user’s aura becomes unstable, radiating draconic pressure. ]

"Permanent 300% increase! I’ve done it!"

Maximillian exhaled, as he tried to calm himself.

"It’s done... The Elixir of Draconic Vitality. It’s done!"

The other alchemists gathered around and confirmed the truth!

Word spread quickly through the laboratory and soon messengers rushed to Alexander’s chamber, eager to deliver the news.

And so, just as Alexander sat fuming over Shane’s final message, a messenger came...

"My lord... Maximillian has succeeded. The Elixir of Draconic Vitality is complete."

Alexander stood up in excitement, but at the same time, he noticed that there was a rat near his desk.

’How did you get in here?’
