Chapter 1042: The Ambush

’Zombification...’ Shane couldn’t help but feel curious about this.

He hadn’t expected this Talent from Lancelot at all. He had gambled for Immortality, but instead, he had uncovered a hidden, evil talent buried within Lancelot’s arsenal. A talent that could change the balance of power in ways no one had imagined.

On the other hand, Lancelot’s expression was grim, as he also realized what Talent had been stolen from him... However, he actually had many other important Talents that weren’t taken, so he could still accept this loss.

It was the price for fighting the Rank 1 Survivor...

Aside from his Clone, Gigantification, and Immortality Talents, Lancelot glanced at his three other Talents.

"That’s worth it..." Lancelot muttered as he soon signalled to his men to retreat and get ready.

He actually bought a lot of time during the duel!

Shane had no idea that right now, but the Overlord Alliance was also attacking two of his shelters!

The Sky Riders Clan and the Green Haven Clan were marching towards Shane’s Springriver Manor...

While the River Flow Clan, Thunder Roar Clan, and Crimson Shield Clan targeted Shane’s Eclipse Domain!

The war had just taken a darker turn.

***

While Shane stood victorious over Lancelot, the war was already spreading across other fronts.

Just like what Lancelot had thought, the duel had bought precious time, and the Overlord Alliance used it well.

The Sky Riders Clan and the Green Haven Clan had gathered a combined force of nearly two thousand Survivors, each between Level 40 and 50.

Commander Arden of the Sky Riders was a tall, hawk-eyed man clad in armor etched with feather-like patterns. His reputation was built on aerial tactics and relentless pursuit. He stood at the front, surveying the manor’s defenses.

Beside him, Eira, a commander of the Green Haven Clan, raised her staff carved from ironwood.

Her clan specialized in nature-bound talents, healers, entanglers, and spirit-binders who could turn the battlefield into a living trap. Furthermore, she had received the Clan Leader’s blessing, allowing her to become a druidess!

Arden’s shouted...

"Check your weapons. In just a few minutes, Springriver Manor will fall to us!"

Eira’s tone was softer, but she also spoke with certainty...

"The Warden Units, Super Soldiers, and Mech Frames were the main opponents here... I will deal with Raze the Dragon Knight! Do not be afraid!"

The troops responded with a roar and soon, siege engines creaked forward, massive wooden rams reinforced with steel, ballistae mounted on carts, and towers pushed by dozens of Survivors. The ground trembled beneath their march.

Springriver Manor itself was a formidable shelter, its walls were made of thick stone and steel plating.

Shane had invested heavily in its defenses, knowing it was a vital hub for his clan’s supplies. But against two thousand determined attackers, its survival was uncertain.

Soon, the Sky Riders deployed their aerial units.

Well, they were just gliders strapped to the backs of warriors, enchanted with wind-talents that allowed them to soar above the battlefield.

But at the same time, the Green Haven Clan’s druids began chanting with roots and vines bursting from the earth to form barricades and entanglements.

The assault was coordinated and according to their plans, they would only need six hours to conquer this shelter!

***

In the meantime, outside the Eclipse Domain, three clans converged to destroy it. They were the River Flow Clan, the Thunder Roar Clan, and the Crimson Shield Clan. Together, they fielded nearly three thousand Survivors and of course, they were all at least Level 40 to participate!

The River Flow Clan was led by Kaelen, a commander whose blade even seemed like water.

His warriors, including summoned recruits, learned a Water Sword Style that could overwhelm even a Zombie Lord... Today, they were about to use their sword style to conquer this shelter.

The Thunder Roar Clan, on the other hand, marched under the command of Bront, a warlord with a lightning hammer. His clan was infamous for shock assaults since they had a Clan Leader that was also a Blacksmith, who had a Legendary Talent that could infuse Lightning into his Weapons...

Now, everyone within their clan had lightning weapons!

As for the Crimson Shield Clan that was commanded by Helira, they all stood in front of the two other clans. Her clan specialized in defense and attrition, holding the line while allies struck.

Needless to say, it was also related to their Clan Leader, who had a Legendary Talent that influences their shields and endurance.

***

Soon, they finally received the signal to start the siege!

Kaelen raised his blade with water still dripping from its edge. "The Eclipse Domain is Shane’s pride. We will claim it today and the Rank 1 Clan will soon be ours!"

Bront also slammed his hammer into the ground... "My warriors thirst for battle. We will destroy their walls!"

Helira lifted her shield high and confidently shouted...

"We’ll protect our allies! Do not be afraid! Lancelot must’ve destroyed that Floating Fortress by now. It won’t be coming for us!"

The combined force soon started charging forward.

Siege towers rolled across the plains, ballistae were loaded, and even summoned beasts appeared.

The Eclipse Domain’s defenders braced themselves, but the sheer scale of the assault was overwhelming!

This was dangerous for Shane’s two shelters!
