Chapter 1029: No Mercy
Kenji’s missile pods opened with a mechanical thud.
Then, through his interface, dozens of warheads locked onto the ramparts, targeting marksmen clusters and ballista towers.
“Fire,” he muttered, and just like that, the pods discharged in rapid succession.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions tore across the walls. Ballista crews were thrown back as they failed to attack Asad’s army…. Marksmen scrambled for cover as their firing nests collapsed. The barrier absorbed most of the blast, but the shock reverberated inside, rattling defenders and breaking their rhythm.
Kenji switched to his rotary cannons, unleashing a stream of high-velocity rounds.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The shots hammered the barrier nodes embedded in the wall, forcing defenders to duck and preventing them from aiming at Asad’s undead tide below.
Riku then dropped altitude, and soon, he marked three barrier nodes along the ramparts…
These were nodes that fed energy into Gatheris’ barrier network and must be destroyed!
“Targeting barrier nodes…” he said, switching to piercing beam mode.
A concentrated burst lanced out, striking the crystal dead center.
Boom!
The energy within the node started dimming, and soon, the barrier above trembled before vanishing completely… Unfortunately, it took up a lot of Mana Crystals or energy from the Mech, he couldn’t do that again.
“First node destabilized,” Riku reported. He then banked left, lining up the second node.
This time, defenders reacted immediately. Spirit-infused arrows streaked toward him, but he also had their own barrier!

He then climbed five meters to angle his shot past the battlements, sighting the barrier node hidden behind the wall…
Soon, he fired a burst of kinetic rounds.

This kinetic round weakened the barrier that was already brittle, weakened more…
As soon as the barrier was on the verge of getting destroyed, a follow-up beam cracked the node!
Bang!
“Alright… I think I’ve done enough.”
Riku didn’t have to destroy all the nodes anyway… He also didn’t have enough rounds that could penetrate through the barrier.
Still, it was enough to create a path for everyone.
Then, Ayaka, who was watching everyone, suddenly shouted…
“Formation Delta. Sheena, two o’clock… Kenji, suppress those snipers! Asad is summoning his Doom Knights. Cover him! Riku, stop over-accelerating. Hiroshi, focus on those monuments… Just destroy them! What outer barrier is basically gone at this point!
Hiroshi adjusted altitude and targeted the Great Knight Monuments.
Although the Barrier was not fully destroyed yet, a huge part of it was already gone thanks to their bombardments and Riku’s assistance.
These statues, however, projected shield emitters that created a greater barrier.
So, he fired controlled bursts, hammering the statues until they were destroyed!
Of course, they wouldn’t go down without a fight.
The Overlord Monuments’ skill activated, and soon, a powerful shockwave rippled outward, stunning lesser undead and distorting projectile trajectories.
Sheena didn’t mind as the barrier was partially broken already!

One clean strike severed its arm before it could crush Asad’s Bone Soldiers.
“Ground team, lane cleared. Push!”
Below, the Skeleton King roared, pointing its bone sword at the breach. Bone Soldiers flooded in, clashing with Steel Golems while marksmen tried to regroup.
At the same time, Asad’s Doom Knights finally appeared from the back lines, and they were also rushing in!
Kenji’s cannons then raked the ramparts, shredding cover and forcing defenders deeper behind their mobile barrier…
“Hahaha! Ramparts suppressed. Let’s go!”

Inside the Overlord Clan’s shelter, a new order was issued.
“Deploy the Alchemist Rockets!”
From the inner courtyard, a squad of twenty men moved quickly into position.
They were the Rocket Division, a special unit led by Fred, one of Lancelot’s trusted captains.
Each man carried a heavy launcher that was made by the Overlord Clan, and these weren’t ordinary weapons.
They were also Delillah’s creations, forged with the help of several Epic‑Grade craftsmen.
The launchers were powered by condensed Spirit Energy and volatile alchemical fuel, designed specifically to pierce the armor of siege engines and flying frames.
Fred raised his hand.
“Target the Skybreakers. If we bring down even one, it will be our win!”
The soldiers knelt, stabilizing their launchers on iron tripods.
Soon, its plating lit up along the barrels as the alchemical fuel ignited… It was then followed by the heavy thrum of charging cores.
“Lock on!” Fred shouted…
Through their scopes, the unit tracked the mechs circling above.
Sheena’s Skybreaker‑01 was too fast, weaving through the battlefield. Kenji’s Skybreaker‑02 was hammering the ramparts with rotary fire. Riku’s Skybreaker‑03 had just pulled up from his last strike.
Fred’s eyes narrowed. “Target Skybreaker‑03. Fire!”
Well, they heard about the Skybreaker already through the World Chat, and there was literally a number three on Riku’s Mech, so it was easily identified…
Whoosh!
Five rockets streaked upward, leaving trails of green flame. The projectiles weren’t simple explosives, each warhead carried a corrosive payload designed to eat through spirit shielding!
Riku’s HUD immediately warned him…
“Incoming! Multiple locks!”
He banked hard as he activated his thrusters at full capacity, but the rockets adjusted mid-flight!
Then, one struck his left shoulder plate.
Boom!
The explosion rocked Skybreaker‑03, tearing away armor plating and scorching the frame.
Another rocket clipped his stabilizer, sending sparks across the sky.
“Damage sustained! Left stabilizer compromised!” Riku shouted, fighting to keep control.
Ayaka’s voice cut in immediately. “Riku, climb! Hiroshi, cover him!”
Hiroshi’s Skybreaker‑05 shifted altitude, unleashing suppressive fire at the rocket unit.
His rounds tore into the courtyard, forcing Fred’s men to duck behind cover. But Fred stood firm, reloading his launcher.
“Again! Don’t stop until one of them falls!”
The second volley was launched.
Rockets streaked upward, detonating near Kenji’s Skybreaker‑02. The explosions rattled his cannons, forcing him to pause his barrage…
Kenji was slightly impressed at his enemies…
“They’re trying to clip us! I guess they’ve really prepared.” Kenji muttered as he turned to their Ace Pilot…
Sheena noticed what Kenji wanted to do and nodded.
“No mercy…”
