Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 195 - 189: Mounted Combat: Giant Stone VS Golden Spear
"Though my Thunder Dragon Duchy was founded less than a century ago, we founded it on our feet, forging our lands from blood and fire."
A cold glint flashed in Karachi’s eyes.
"We will show you frogs in a well what the true power of a Kingdom looks like!"
"Enough talk!"
Luke’s voice boomed across the field.
"The rules are simple. A side loses if their champion is killed or verbally surrenders! The victor will win the glory of today’s battlefield!"
With their verbal spar concluded, the two men steered their mounts and slowly returned to their own lines.
The rules of the duel had been set. There was no turning back.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The sound of war drums from the Allied Army’s camp suddenly grew fierce and urgent, stirring the blood.
The mournful call of a Horn sounded once more, followed by the thunderous beat of war drums, like the heartbeat of a Giant, pounding in everyone’s chest.
"ROAR!"
A world-shaking tiger’s roar erupted, the sound waves rolling out, nearly drowning out the drums and horns.
Under the watchful eyes of all, the burly figure of Count Barton of Giant Stone appeared before the army.
He sat astride a Winged Demon Tiger named "Black Wind" that was nearly three meters tall at the shoulder and over six meters long.
Black Wind was covered in glossy black fur, with a pair of wings sprouting from its ribs. On its ferocious head, a pair of dark red eyes glinted with bloodlust. Its mere presence radiated a suffocating, baleful aura.
Count Barton himself was even more imposing.
He wore a suit of heavy, dark gold full-plate Armor. Every joint of the Armor shimmered with the light of Magic, clear evidence that it was a piece of Top-Grade Equipment that had been meticulously enchanted.
He gripped a Giant Axe, its blade burning with raging crimson flames. The high temperature distorted the surrounding air and gave off astonishing heat.
"Barton! Barton! Barton!"
A cheer like a mountain avalanche and a tsunami erupted from the ranks of the Northern Alliance Army. The soldiers waved their weapons, roaring their support for their Warrior.
Count Barton’s bravery was already legendary in the Northern Territory.
Barton clearly reveled in the adoration of the crowd. He raised his Flaming Giant Axe high, and Black Wind, his mount, let out another roar. With a powerful beat of its wings, it kicked up a gale that sent sand and gravel flying.
From the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s army, a sharp and urgent military horn sounded in response, a stark contrast to the mighty drumbeats of the Northern Territory.
A Knight riding a fearsome Magical Beast slowly emerged from the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s formation.
This Knight was just as tall, clad in a suit of brilliant golden Armor that gleamed even under the overcast sky, making him appear sacred and majestic.
He held a Knight’s Long Spear that was just as dazzlingly golden, its tip glinting with a cold light. He looked like a legendary Golden Divine General, descended to the mortal world after bathing in divine grace.
His mount was no less extraordinary—a Tier Four Magical Beast, a Molten Giant Lizard whose size was in no way inferior to Black Wind’s.
The Giant Lizard’s four limbs were thick and powerful. It was clad in Golden Armor, and through the gaps, one could faintly see dark red, keratinous Scale Armor. A red glow seemed to flow between the scales, as if molten magma burned within.
With every breath, it exhaled white smoke thick with the smell of sulfur. Each step it took on the ground produced a muffled THUD THUD, as if the very earth trembled beneath it.
This Golden Armored Knight was none other than the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s renowned champion, Leonhardt, "the Golden Spear."
It was said that both his "Sunlight Spear" and his "Dawn Armor" were Treasures bestowed by the Kingdom, possessing immense power.
Leonhardt spurred his Molten Giant Lizard to the center of the battlefield, facing Count Barton from a distance.
One was wild as fire, the other majestic as a mountain.
One wielded a Flaming Giant Axe, brimming with killing intent;
One gripped a Golden Long Spear, poised to strike like a wildfire.
The two powerful Magical Beasts growled at each other, filling the air with a tense and savage atmosphere.
At that moment, the entire battlefield fell completely silent.
All eyes were fixed on the two Knights, who were about to engage in a life-or-death struggle.
The first duel, a mounted battle, was about to begin!
DONG!
A long, clear bell toll rang out from the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s army, like the morning bell of a Divine Hall, solemn and dignified.
This was the signal for the duel to begin.
"ROAR!"
The moment the signal sounded, Count Barton could no longer hold back.
He let out a roar identical to that of the Demon Tiger beneath him and slammed his legs into the beast’s flanks.
The Winged Demon Tiger, Black Wind, spread its wings furiously, kicking up a cloud of dust and transforming into a black afterimage as it charged wildly toward Leonhardt in the center of the field.
Man and tiger’s auras merged into one in the charge. The burning Giant Axe was raised high, as if to split the very sky and leave a scorched chasm in its wake.
Facing this thunderous charge, Leonhardt remained exceptionally calm.
The Molten Giant Lizard beneath him stood its ground, its four feet planted firmly, unmoving as a stone hill.
Leonhardt raised the Sunlight Spear level with one hand. The brilliant gold shaft gathered light under the gloomy sky, its tip aimed directly at the oncoming black storm. His entire being emanated an Abyssal aura.
Closer! Just as Black Wind was about to crash into the Molten Giant Lizard, Barton’s explosive shout echoed across the battlefield.
"Kai Mountain!"
The Flaming Giant Axe descended with a shriek that tore through the air, carving a blinding line of fire as it chopped down!
All of his Fighting Spirit and Power were concentrated in this single strike, enough to level a small hill.
Leonhardt’s eyes narrowed slightly. With a flick of his wrist, the Sunlight Spear transformed into a bolt of golden Lightning, striking the face of the Flaming Giant Axe with unerring precision.
"CLANG!"
The clash of metal was deafening, making the eardrums of the distant soldiers ring.
A blinding flash of light erupted at the point of contact between the axe and spear. A violent shockwave of energy blasted outward from the two of them, sending all the sand and gravel on the ground flying.
In a single blow, the difference in their strength was clear.
Barton, along with his tiger, was forced back half a step by the tremendous force.
But Leonhardt and his Molten Giant Lizard remained as steady as a rock.
’Such incredible power!’
Raylo, watching clearly from behind the lines, felt his heart sink.
Leonhardt wasn’t relying purely on technique; his Power was actually in no way inferior to Barton’s, who was renowned for his might.
On the battlefield, this initial setback didn’t discourage Barton. Instead, it ignited his savage nature.
"Again!"
He roared, swinging his Giant Axe like the wind. Crimson afterimages of the axe, wreathed in scorching flames, swept toward Leonhardt like a torrential storm.
Every swing was heavy and powerful, each blow carrying the force to cleave mountains and shatter stone.
At the same time, the Winged Demon Tiger, Black Wind, began to battle the Molten Giant Lizard.
Black Wind was agile, circling the cumbersome Giant Lizard at high speed. Its sharp claws raked across the lizard’s golden Armor again and again, striking showers of blinding sparks.
It opened its cavernous mouth, trying to rip into the Giant Lizard’s relatively vulnerable neck.
