Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 396: Death?
Standing before the mirror, her lips curled into a faint, unfamiliar smile. "Now," the entity murmured softly, admiring the reflection, "I can do whatever I want."
Inside, Cassandra’s consciousness trembled in shock. "How... how can you do this?!" she screamed. "Give my body back! Let me go!"
But no matter how hard she struggled... She couldn’t move a single finger.
She was nothing more than a spectator trapped within her own body.
The entity tilted its head slightly, still staring into the mirror. "For now," it said calmly, "you should forget about everything."
It turned. "Let’s begin."
"No!" Cassandra cried out internally, her voice filled with panic.
But the entity had already started walking toward the Almond Mansion.
No one at the guard station stopped her. After all, the guards knew that she was Garrison’s mistress.
Soon, it reached Garrison’s study. "What are you doing...?" Cassandra shouted desperately. "Stop! Don’t do anything!"
The entity ignored her completely.
It began searching through the room, opening drawers, flipping through files with steady, methodical movements. When it didn’t find what it wanted, it clicked its tongue softly and walked out.
Moments later, it entered another study, the second young master’s. There, it found it. A stack of documents. Important ones.
The entity’s lips curved slightly as it took out the phone, snapping quick photos before slipping a few papers into its pocket.
A deep sense of dread filled Cassandra.
’This... this isn’t right... this thing... it’s dangerous...’
"Stop!" she begged frantically. "Please don’t do this!"
But the entity didn’t even acknowledge her existence. It returned to Garrison’s study, calmly pulling out confidential files.
And then, without hesitation, it sent everything to the rival company.
A soft, eerie laugh escaped its lips. Cassandra’s heart sank.
"Why are you doing this?!" she cried out. "We share the same body! If you ruin my life, you won’t survive either!"
The entity laughed again, this time louder, almost amused. "Survive?" it repeated. "I no longer need to depend on you to live."
Those words felt like ice piercing through her soul. The entity turned and began walking out.
Just then... Garrison appeared.
The moment he saw her, he froze for a brief second before stepping forward hurriedly. "Cassandra..." he began, reaching out to pull her closer.
But the next second... She pushed him away. Hard.
Garrison staggered slightly, his eyes widening in shock. "What... what’s wrong?" he asked, confusion filling his voice.
The entity looked at him with open disgust. "Don’t you understand?" it said coldly. "I feel disgusted whenever you come near me."
Those words struck like a blade.
Garrison’s heart tightened visibly. "What are you saying...?" he asked, his voice unsteady. "Are you alright?"
He reached out again, concern evident, even trying to check her temperature... But was pushed away once more.
This time, the gaze she gave him was filled with pure hatred. "I’m tired," she said flatly. "Tired of pretending."
With that, she turned and walked away.
Garrison followed quickly. "Wait... what happened? Why are you acting like this?"
But she didn’t respond. Inside... Cassandra screamed. ’No... no! I don’t mean that! I love him...!’ 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
But her voice never reached him.
She could only watch helplessly as another being used her body, twisted her words, destroyed everything she had.
Regret flooded her heart. She struggled. Fought.
Meanwhile, the entity, walking out of the mansion, suddenly paused.
A strange, restless energy surged through her body.
She chuckled softly. "So you’re still resisting," it murmured. "Interesting."
Inside, Cassandra pushed back with everything she had. The clash began.
A violent battle within consciousness. The body couldn’t handle it.
Suddenly... Her legs gave out.
Her body collapsed onto the pavement with a dull, sickening thud.
Blood began to seep from her head, dark and warm against the cold ground.
"CASSANDRA!" Garrison shouted, panic overtaking him as he rushed forward, scooping her into his arms.
Her body felt limp. Too limp. He didn’t waste a second, rushing her to the hospital.
The sharp smell of antiseptic filled the air as she was wheeled into the emergency room.
"Critical condition!" someone shouted.
Moments later... She was placed in the ICU.
Machines beeped steadily, their sounds echoing in the sterile silence.
But inside... The battle only intensified.
Cassandra and the entity clashed violently, neither willing to yield. The pressure grew unbearable.
Her body trembled. Blood vessels ruptured. Pain surged uncontrollably.
At one point... her body simply couldn’t take it anymore. A final, overwhelming surge... And everything went still.
Their souls flickered. Faded. And vanished. Cassandra... died, just like that.
Not from an external wound...but from the war within herself. When Garrison heard the news...he froze. Then he collapsed.
"No... no... this isn’t possible..." he muttered, shaking his head repeatedly. "She was just here... she was fine... how can she, how can she die like this?!"
His voice broke. He shouted. Laughed hysterically. Then fell silent again. Like a man who had lost everything.
Only now did he realize... What it meant to lose someone. What love truly meant.
"I thought..." he whispered hoarsely, tears streaming down his face, "I thought she was just..."
He couldn’t finish. Regret consumed him. All he could do was watch as her lifeless body was taken away.
His chest felt hollow. Empty. As he sobbed quietly, his phone suddenly began to ring.
The sharp sound cut through the silence.
He sniffed, wiping his tears roughly, and glanced down at the screen. The name displayed made his fingers move almost instinctively.
He picked up the call.
"Yes..." his voice came out hoarse, fragile.
On the other end, his assistant spoke urgently,
"Sir, something serious has happened. Several confidential files from the Almond Company have been leaked. Not only that... they’ve already reached our rival company."
Garrison’s eyes widened instantly, the words crashing into him like a storm. "What...?" he whispered, his mind struggling to process it.
Just moments ago, he had been mourning Cassandra. And now... Another disaster.
His chest tightened painfully.
"Start an investigation," he said abruptly, forcing steadiness into his voice despite the tremor underneath. "Immediately. I want everything uncovered."
