Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 362: Offer
’Rather than waiting to be cornered like prey... it’s better to become the hunter,’ Lana thought coldly.
Jenny stared at Lana as if she were seeing her for the first time. That way of thinking felt completely alien to her.
"What if the servants finds out?" Jenny finally spoke, her voice hesitant.
"If they reports it, then when the authorities come... it will become impossible to hide anything. Not to mention..."
Her brows knit together as she looked at Lana in disbelief.
"You’re from Shadowridge University. How can you talk about death so calmly?"
Hearing those words, Lana chuckled softly. The sound was light, but there was no warmth in it.
"Some people don’t deserve to live on this earth," she replied casually. "By killing them, we’re simply helping the world clear out its trash."
When she saw the hesitation in Jenny’s expression, Lana instantly understood. Jenny simply couldn’t bring herself to kill someone.
Ironically, the Jenny standing in front of her was the same Jenny who had once taught Lana how to kill people.
Lana sighed quietly.
"Look," she said in a gentler tone, "I understand your hesitation."
She paused before continuing. "So let’s take another route. Something much simpler."
Jenny lifted her head again. "What route?"
"I will make a deal with your grandfather," Lana replied calmly. "And you’ll come with me."
Jenny frowned immediately. "My grandfather would never agree."
Lana suddenly laughed, as if she had just heard the most ridiculous joke.
"Money can solve most problems," she said casually.
"And if the problem isn’t solved with money... that simply means you don’t have enough money."
After saying that, she looked at Jenny one last time. "Good night."
With those words, Lana turned around and began walking away.
Jenny watched her back in silence before suddenly speaking. "Why are you so good to me?"
Lana paused mid-step.
Jenny’s voice trembled slightly. "I haven’t done anything for you."
For a brief moment, the hallway fell completely silent.
Then Lana smiled faintly without turning around.
"You might not know this," she said softly, "but I owe you a deep favor."
Her voice carried an unexplainable certainty.
"In this life, I’ll make sure you live a prosperous life... and reach the very pinnacle."
After saying that, Lana glanced sideways and added casually,
"By the way... have you awakened your teleportation power yet?"
The moment Jenny heard those words, her body stiffened. Her pupils shrank violently as shock filled her eyes.
She had never told anyone about that ability. Not even her own mother knew about it.
’Then... how does Lana know?’
For a brief moment, a bizarre thought flashed through Jenny’s mind.
’Is she really from the future, otherwise how would she know...?’
But before she could speak, Lana chuckled lightly. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Your silence already answered my question," Lana said. "So you have awakened it."
Her tone suddenly turned serious.
"If that’s the case... you should start preparing yourself for what’s going to happen in the future."
After that, Lana left the corridor and returned to her own room.
Having resolved most of the problems for now, she quickly fell asleep without any trouble.
The next morning, she woke up early and walked toward the dining table as if she were in her own home. The smell of toasted bread and peanut butter lingered in the air.
However, Lana hadn’t come there to eat.
She came to see Daniel.
Soon enough, Daniel appeared. He was sitting at the table with his usual breakfast, protein shake, bread, and peanut butter, dressed neatly in his sharp suit.
The moment he saw Lana approaching, his expression turned grim.
Last night, he had already moved all the black money out of the mansion. Even if Lana conducted an investigation now, there would be no evidence left behind.
Still, he knew provoking Lana would be foolish. ’It’s better to stay quiet,’ he thought.
So he didn’t say anything. Lana, on the other hand, calmly walked to the table and looked directly at him.
"I have a deal for you."
The moment Daniel heard the word deal, his eyes sharpened. "What kind of deal?"
Lana spoke as if she were discussing something trivial.
"As long as you give Jenny to me... I’ll give you four hundred million dollars."
The moment that number left her lips, Daniel’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"Four hundred million?"
That amount was enormous.
In fact, his entire net worth was almost ten times lower than what Lana had just offered.
For a moment, naked greed flashed across his face.
But before he could open his mouth, Lana calmly raised her hand to stop him.
"Before you start making unreasonable demands," she said coolly, "listen to my conditions first."
She raised one finger. "First, I want Jenny."
Then the second. "Second, you will completely erase all the blackmail evidence you have on her."
And finally, the third. "Third, from this moment onward, you will never contact Jenny again... nor acknowledge her existence."
Her eyes turned ice-cold. "If you break that condition... I’ll have you killed."
She leaned back slightly in her chair.
"Those are the three conditions for the four hundred million dollars."
Her voice became indifferent again. "As for asking for more... forget about it."
She shrugged lightly. "This is a one-time offer."
Her gaze locked onto Daniel. "You can accept it... or you can reject it."
"Also, I have made this offer because I have seen Jenny endure beatings without resistance, silently accepting the pain as if it were her fate. The memory of Jenny standing there quietly, bruised yet stubbornly silent, had lingered in my mind."
The moment Lana finished speaking, Daniel’s eyes widened slightly before a slow smirk spread across his face.
The thought of Jenny falling into Lana’s hands... of watching her suffer under someone else’s control... was strangely tempting to him.
’That girl has always been too stubborn,’ Daniel thought coldly. ’Maybe someone like Lana will finally break her.’
However, he forced those thoughts down and leaned back slightly in his chair.
"So what’s the guarantee?"
Lana looked at him calmly.
