Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 326: First Day
Axel returned the courtesy with a respectful nod. He then gestured toward Lana.
"This is Lana," he said. "She is my student participating in the exchange program here."
Wayne offered her a polite smile, but beneath that civility was unmistakable scrutiny.
He had heard of her recent rise, her astonishing breakthrough, and her abnormal cultivation speed.
His gaze lingered too long, studying her as though she were a specimen under examination.
Axel subtly stepped forward, blocking that gaze.
"We came because we have something important to discuss," Axel said calmly.
Wayne’s expression shifted. He gave Bella a small signal.
Axel closed the door behind them. He hesitated briefly, glancing toward Bella, as if unsure whether to speak openly in her presence.
Wayne chuckled.
"You already know about our relationship. There is no need to hide anything. You may speak freely."
Axel nodded.
"While walking through the campus area, I observed that many of the students here possess a very unusual aura..."
Wayne interrupted him.
"If you came to tell me that students are going to die soon, I am already aware. A strange phenomenon has been occurring recently. Students have been dying under mysterious circumstances."
Axel listened, then added quietly,
"There is one more thing you should know."
Wayne’s eyes sharpened.
"Behind all of this... is a GA member."
Wayne was visibly stunned.
It had taken him and Bella nearly an entire week of investigation, cross-checking, and sleepless nights to reach that conclusion. Yet Axel had identified it almost immediately.
’So this is the difference in perception...’ Wayne thought, a quiet sense of awe rising within him.
He looked at Axel and nodded.
"I will take your words very seriously."
Axel inclined his head slightly.
"In that case, Lana and I will take our leave."
From Wayne’s reaction alone, Axel could already tell that the principal was not ignorant of the situation.
Their own findings were likely nothing new.
The university must already have teams investigating, and those investigations had probably reached conclusions similar to theirs.
Wayne watched silently as Axel and Lana walked out of the office. The door closed with a soft click.
He then turned to Bella.
"Keep an eye on them."
Bella nodded without hesitation.
Axel and Lana returned to their assigned penthouse. The space was quiet, filled with soft afternoon light streaming through tall windows.
A faint fragrance of sandalwood lingered in the air, likely from the automated diffuser.
The moment they entered, Lana sat down and began cultivating.
She had no intention of wasting even a single moment.
Time passed unnoticed as mystic energy gathered around her like a slow-moving tide.
Her breathing deepened, her senses sharpened, and the circulation of power within her body became increasingly smooth.
When she finally opened her eyes, she could already feel it.
She was standing at the very edge of the Earth Rank.
’Once I receive the resources from the university, I will be able to break through easily.’
Just then, Axel emerged from the kitchen carrying several dishes.
The rich aroma of freshly cooked food filled the room.
Seeing Lana, he frowned slightly.
"You have not eaten yet, have you? Cultivation can wait. Eat first, then rest."
Lana nodded and stuck out her tongue playfully.
"Alright, Uncle."
They ate together, talking casually about trivial matters, the kind of quiet conversation that carried comfort rather than urgency.
After finishing, Lana returned to her room, lay down on the bed, and soon drifted into sleep.
The next morning, Lana woke up feeling refreshed.
’Today is the first official day at the university.’
When she stepped out, she saw Axel already awake, breakfast neatly prepared on the table.
For a moment, she paused.
’Without you... I might not even have survived this far."
Axel laughed lightly at her expression and handed her a plate.
"Eat before it gets cold."
After breakfast, the two of them headed toward the university gates.
Upon arrival, Lana was guided toward her assigned department.
Along the way, she overheard conversations from other exchange students who had finally arrived.
Their journey had been miserable.
Many of them had caught colds.
Because of the misdirection, they had been delayed by nearly two days and were so exhausted that all they wanted to do was sleep.
Unfortunately, postponing the program further would create administrative chaos, so they were forced to attend immediately.
It was clear they were in a terrible mood.
Some even complained bitterly about how Garrison had ignored Lana and because of that bad deed they all suffered!
Lana felt a brief flicker of pity, though she did not dwell on it.
They had remained silent when she was humiliated then she would remain silent too.
When she entered the Mystic Department building, she almost gasped in wonder.
Unlike the structured, professional atmosphere of Shadowridge University, Spineridge University felt... alive.
The environment resembled a carefully designed forest.
Chairs were partially covered with woven tree fibers and leaves, blending naturally into the surroundings.
At first glance, it looked unsuitable for study, but hidden within each desk were advanced technological panels.
As soon as Lana sat down, a sleek laptop unfolded automatically, activating with a soft hum.
The class space stretched endlessly, resembling a clearing in a vast jungle rather than a room. Mystical energy flowed freely here, far denser and more vibrant than she had expected.
There was no traditional board.
The teacher simply stood at the center and began speaking, explaining concepts directly.
It was a strange yet fascinating system.
However, before she could fully admire the environment, something else occurred.
When Lana arrived, the teacher introduced her to the class and asked her to give a brief introduction.
"My name is Lana," she said calmly. "I am currently at the Yellow Mystic Rank."
The response was immediate.
A round of applause.
But it was cold.
There were no smiles. No curiosity. No mockery either. Just detached acknowledgment.
Lana could feel the distance instantly.
She did not take it to heart and quietly moved to her assigned seat, which was noticeably isolated from the others.
