Chapter 832: Chapter 832: Bullying?

Qiao Li had seen the whole thing. She didn’t say anything, but her eyes narrowed slightly.

"Qiao Li hasn’t eaten her breakfast yet," Ou Lin said loudly, facing the whole class. "She might be hungry."

Everyone stared. He didn’t care.

He opened the bag and gently placed the warm box in front of her.

"You’ll get a stomach ache if you skip meals," he said with a small smile. "Eat while it’s hot."

Qiao Li looked at the box, then back at him.

Her cheeks turned just a little pink.

"You don’t have to do all this," she muttered, rolling her eyes.

But her fingers reached out anyway, like they had a mind of their own.

Just as she was about to grab the box—

Another hand reached out and blocked her.

Qiao Li froze. Ou Lin frowned.

They both looked up.

It was Lin Meimei.

She had a sad, pitiful expression on her face, like she was in a drama.

"I’m sorry," Meimei said in a soft voice, "but I... I’ve never had homemade food. My parents passed away when I was little, and I grew up poor. I haven’t eaten breakfast today. Professor Ou... can I have it instead?"

The whole class was stunned.

Qiao Li stared at Meimei with a confused expression. She didn’t say a word.

Ou Lin’s jaw tightened. He looked at Meimei with sharp, serious eyes.

Then his voice came out cold and steady. "That’s very sad, Lin Meimei. But you know what’s also sad?"

Meimei blinked. "What...?"

"That you use your pain as a weapon."

The room went silent.

Ou Lin didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t yell. But his words were sharp like a knife.

"You don’t like Qiao Li. You’ve made that clear. You mock her behind her back, talk about her wealth, and now... you’re asking for her food?"

Meimei looked uncomfortable. "I... I didn’t mean—"

"She didn’t take your parents away," he said, voice even colder. "And her having food doesn’t mean you can take it."

He looked down at Qiao Li’s untouched breakfast.

"This was made for Qiao Li. With care. With love."

He turned to Meimei and said calmly, "Go eat at the cafeteria. If you can’t afford it, I’ll pay for your meal. But this is not yours to take."

The class gasped. Some whispered. A few girls were clearly enjoying the drama.

Qiao Li stared at Ou Lin, surprised. Her heart thumped a little louder.

Meimei’s face turned red. She looked like she wanted to cry or scream—but instead, she stomped back to her seat without another word.

Ou Lin gently picked up the tiffin and held it out to Qiao Li again.

She slowly took it this time.

"...You didn’t have to do that," she mumbled.

"I did," he said. "You’ve protected yourself for too long. Let me protect you now."

Qiao Li looked away, biting her lip.

The class sat in awkward silence for a moment.

Then, from the back, someone whispered loudly, "Professor Ou’s so intense..."

Another boy muttered, "Bro just roasted her in front of the whole class."

Yoyo leaned toward Qiao Li and whispered with a smirk, "Okay, I know he’s still annoying, but that was kinda cool."

Qiao Li didn’t answer. But her cheeks were pink again.

She opened the tiffin and quietly started eating.

It was warm.

Spicy.

A little sweet.

Just like always.

And though she didn’t say it aloud, the food somehow tasted better today.

After breakfast, Professor Ou started his lecture like usual.

His voice was calm, steady, and full of confidence. He explained every topic clearly, and the students listened carefully.

No one dared to whisper too much today—not after what happened with Lin Meimei earlier.

But Lin Meimei... she was fuming.

Her face was red, not from embarrassment but from pure rage.

She couldn’t even look at Professor Ou without feeling like she’d just been slapped across the face in front of the whole class.

All the professors she’d met before had either ignored her or praised her. Even if she complained or acted bossy, they never scolded her.

But this Ou Lin?

He didn’t even glance at her.

He didn’t care about her background, her sad story, or how much attention she was used to getting.

He went straight for her pride... and crushed it.

She sat there, fists clenched, glaring holes into the back of Qiao Li’s head.

"This is all her fault..." Meimei whispered.

Her friend leaned over and whispered, "Maybe... maybe you should let it go for now. He’s just a professor. He’ll leave soon."

But Lin Meimei shook her head sharply. "No. It’s that girl. Qiao Li must’ve said something bad about me. That’s why he insulted me."

Her friend blinked. "You really think so?"

"Of course!" Meimei snapped. "For the past three weeks, Professor Ou has been following her around like a lovesick puppy. Don’t you see? She’s using her looks and her money to seduce him!"

The friend’s eyes widened. "Now that you mention it... he did invite her to the staff room a few times."

Meimei smirked. "Exactly. It’s probably there she made her move. Girls like her—they act all innocent but are full of tricks."

Her expression turned dark and cold.

"She’s playing with fire," Meimei said. "It’s time someone teaches her a lesson."

After class ended, students began packing their bags.

Qiao Li stood up and stretched. She had finished her breakfast, and her mood was actually a little better—until she noticed Meimei still shooting death stares from her seat.

Ignoring it, she turned to Yoyo.

"Hey, want to come watch a movie?" Yoyo asked with a hopeful smile.

Qiao Li shook her head and smiled softly. "I have an appointment today. Maybe next time?" freeweɓnovel~cѳm

Yoyo pouted. "Aww, okay. I hope it’s something fun!"

Qiao Li nodded and waved goodbye before walking out of the classroom.

Her footsteps were calm as she headed toward the main gate.

Today, Yu Holea was coming over for dinner, and she had been really looking forward to spending time with her. They hadn’t hung out properly in so long.

But just as she passed by one of the empty classrooms...

A hand grabbed her wrist.

"What the—?!"

Before she could react, someone yanked her inside and shut the door behind her.

Qiao Li’s eyes narrowed.

Standing in front of her were Lin Meimei and two of her friends. They were smirking like villains in a bad school drama.

But Qiao Li didn’t panic. Not even a little.

She had gone to Jackson High School—the kind of school where martial arts and self-defense were just part of P.E. She could take down five people with one arm tied behind her back if needed.

Still, she waited, just to see what their game was.

Lin Meimei crossed her arms and said, "You should stop seducing Professor Ou."

Qiao Li blinked. "Excuse me?"

Meimei sneered.

"Don’t act innocent. I’ve heard the rumors. You keep getting special attention. Everyone knows you visit him in the staff room. It’s obvious you’re doing something behind the scenes."

Qiao Li raised one eyebrow. "And from which eyes did you see me seducing him, exactly?"

"I don’t need to see it," Meimei snapped.

"I know your type. Rich girl, pretty face, always acting like the world owes you. But not everyone is going to let you win."

Qiao Li chuckled darkly.

She calmly placed her bag on a nearby chair and began cracking her knuckles.

"Oh? And you thought today was a good day to pick a fight?"

Meimei’s two friends exchanged glances. They had never seen Qiao Li like this before.

Qiao Li stepped forward, her voice low and dangerous.

"I already had to watch you try and snatch my breakfast like a stray raccoon. I let that go. But now you’re accusing me of disgusting things?"

She gave a small smile that didn’t reach her eyes.

"Congratulations, Lin Meimei. You’ve officially made me mad."

Meimei smirked and tried to hide her nervous gulp. "You think I’m scared of you?"

Qiao Li’s answer was simple.

She swung.

The fight started immediately.

Meimei’s friend rushed first, trying to grab Qiao Li’s hair.

Bad idea.

Qiao Li ducked and elbowed her in the stomach. The girl fell back, wheezing.

The second one came next, throwing wild punches.

Qiao Li sidestepped and tripped her with a swift kick to the ankle. She landed with a loud thud on the floor.

Finally, Meimei tried to claw at Qiao Li’s face—but Qiao Li grabbed her wrist, spun her around, and pinned her against the wall with just one arm.

"You really thought this would go your way?" Qiao Li whispered.

Meimei’s face went pale.

She struggled, kicked, but Qiao Li didn’t even flinch.

A few minutes later...

The three of them were sitting on the floor, groaning and bruised, while Qiao Li stood perfectly fine, brushing her hair back like nothing had happened.

Meimei, near tears, wailed, "She’s bullying us!"

Qiao Li, completely calm, looked down. "Bullying? You dragged me in here."

"You beat us up!"

"I was just defending myself," Qiao Li said sweetly. "You attacked first. Everyone knows self-defense isn’t a crime."
