Chapter 806: Chapter 806: Yu Holea’s Surprise

"Pretty much," Sicong said with a laugh. "Honestly, that’s probably the only reason she didn’t smack me for getting into this whole mess. She’s emotionally invested."

Fu Jian laughed quietly, the sound soft and a little shaky. It felt good to laugh, even just a little.

"Well, I guess we’d better make this a good story for her, then," he said.

Sicong’s eyes softened. He reached out and brushed his fingers against Fu Jian’s.

"We will," he promised.

After comforting Fu Jian, Yu Sicong left the hospital room and walked toward the stairs. He found Yu Holea with her back to the wall and scrolling through her phone, and frowned.

"Why are you standing in such a cold place?"

Though he scolded her, his actions were much more honest, as he took out his coat and draped it over Yu Holea, who smiled.

"I thought it would waste your time the least."

"Nonsense." This time, there was genuine disapproval in Yu Sicong’s eyes, and he lectured her, "Whatever the situation is, talking with you can never be a waste of time. So never ever put yourself in discomfort, just to save my time."

Yu Holea’s heart warmed. Honestly, she wasn’t as chill as she looked.

It may seem petty, but she was scared that her brother would become less attentive toward her, since a new person has arrived in his life.

Hence, she created the boundaries herself so that he won’t feel displeased.

"Lea?" Yu Sicong called out. The concern in his voice made Yu Holea snap out of her daze, and she flashed a bright smile,

"Yes, I understand."

Yu Sicong, on the other hand, was frustrated,

"No, you don’t. See how red you have turned from the cold."

With that, he pulled her closer and walked up the stairs, while muttering,

"God knows when she will understand how detrimental it is for her health to stand out in the cold."

"But, brother, I am a cultivator." Yu Holea reminded in a small voice.

Yu Sicong paused before glaring at her and raising an eyebrow,

"So what? What if some crazy fan stalked you?"

"But brother, I am atmost a D-Rank celebrity." Yu Holea interrupted him again, causing Yu Sicong to pause and glare at Yu Holea again.

"Just listen to me. I am your big brother."

"Yes." Yu Holea nodded, knowing that if she went any further, her brother would be truly angered.

Soon they reached an empty room, and Yu Sicong went to fetch hot water for Yu Holea. After passing the water cup to her, he asked,

"So are you going to tell me about all this matter related to Yu Mei’s soul?"

Yu Holea drank the water, speaking in a cold tone that can truly make one’s throat dry. After finishing, she set the paper cup aside and said,

"Hm. So, where should I start? Let’s start with 1 month before."

...........

1 month before.

The sky above Dragon Hill was an overcast gray, and a cool breeze blew over the abandoned tracks. The place had an eerie quietness, like it was holding its breath, waiting for something to happen.

Yu Holea stood near the rusting rails, watching the crew prepare for the next shot. The director had just called for a short break. She took the opportunity to stretch her legs, walking toward the edge of the tracks for a bit of fresh air.

That was when she heard it.

A man’s voice, sharp and low, carried through the wind. He was standing just out of sight behind a cargo crate, speaking on the phone.

Yu Holea paused mid-step, her ears catching a few words.

"Don’t worry. The reporters are already hiding nearby. Once she runs into my arms, crying about love, it’ll be over for the Ou family. Their precious daughter, throwing everything away for their rival? The headlines will write themselves."

Yu Holea froze.

Ou family?

Her eyes widened. Just a second ago, she had been thinking about them—how complicated things were.

But this? This was serious. Someone was plotting to ruin the Ou family’s reputation publicly, with the help of the media.

They had just made a comeback. She couldn’t let them sink.

She reached for her phone, fingers flying over the screen, ready to message someone—anyone from the Ou family. freewёbnoνel-com

But then, she heard the man again.

"She’ll be here in twenty minutes. Plenty of time."

Yu Holea’s thumb hovered over the "send" button. She stopped.

Twenty minutes? That wasn’t enough time for the Ou family to get here and prevent the disaster.

Her heart pounded. There was no time to lose. If she wanted to stop this, she’d have to do it herself.

Without hesitation, she reached into her coat and pulled out a folded talisman.

She whispered a chant, and the paper shimmered faintly with golden energy before floating up and circling her like a compass.

"Find if there is a woman near me."

But the talisman just hovered, glowing faintly—no signal. The girl hadn’t arrived yet.

Yu Holea bit her lip. She couldn’t just stand still. She had to find her before the trap was sprung.

She ran.

The wind tugged at her clothes and hair as she sprinted down the path beside the tracks, eyes scanning every corner. Five minutes passed. Ten. She was beginning to worry she’d missed the girl when—

There.

Up ahead, a slim figure appeared in the distance, walking quickly toward the rendezvous point. Her steps were full of excitement and nervous energy.

Yu Holea slowed as she recognized her.

Ou Xiaoxiao.

The pretty young woman had soft features and a hopeful smile on her lips, as if she truly believed she was about to live her very own fairytale.

Holea stopped in her tracks for a second.

She remembered this girl. The one who’d once tried to flirt with Qiao Jun. The one who had made her feel... off.

For just a heartbeat, bitterness pricked at the edge of her thoughts.

But she shoved it down. Now’s not the time.

The Ou family’s reputation was on the line. One scandal like this, and they’d be torn apart by the media. Holea took a breath, then called out:

"Xiaoxiao! Wait!"

Ou Xiaoxiao turned, startled. Her eyes widened when she saw Yu Holea running toward her.

"You?" Xiaoxiao frowned, slowing down. "What are you doing here?"

"There’s no time to explain everything," Holea said quickly, catching her breath. "The guy you’re going to meet—he’s lying. He set you up. He’s working with the media to ruin your family. This isn’t love. It’s a trap."

Xiaoxiao’s face changed, but not in the way Holea had hoped.

Her eyes narrowed.

"You’re jealous."

Holea blinked. "What?"

"You’re jealous," Xiaoxiao repeated. "You couldn’t stand that I finally moved on from Qiao Jun and found someone who actually loves me."

"What—? No, this isn’t about that at all," Holea said, trying to keep calm. "I’m telling you the truth. I heard the guy. He said he called reporters to catch you running away with him. Don’t go."

But Xiaoxiao’s expression hardened. She crossed her arms, stepping back.

"You think I don’t see what this is? You’ve always looked down on me. Ever since that day at the party. And now that I’m finally happy, you’re here to ruin it."

Holea’s jaw tightened. Her voice lowered, serious and urgent.

"Xiaoxiao, this is bigger than either of us. I don’t care what you think about me. But if you walk any further, you’re not just hurting yourself, you’re giving them exactly what they want. They’ll tear your name apart. Your family’s name. Please, just listen."

For a moment, silence stretched between them.

Then, behind them, a faint rustle in the bushes.

Holea’s eyes flicked to the side, and she saw the tip of a camera lens.

Reporters. They were already here.

She grabbed Xiaoxiao’s hand. "We’re out of time."

However, the moment she held Ou Xiaoxiao’s hand, Yu Holea felt a strange energy creeping in.

Ignoring it for the time being, Yu Holea led Ou Xiaoxiao away.

"What are you—!?"

Without waiting, Holea pulled her into the woods, away from the tracks, ducking low behind thick brush. They crouched behind a tree, hidden from sight.

A few moments later, footsteps echoed on the gravel path.

The man appeared, dressed neatly, a smirk on his lips. Behind him, two reporters raised their cameras, waiting for their moment.

Only then did Holea let out a breath.

"You see now?" she whispered.

Xiaoxiao looked at her, stunned. Her face was pale.

"No... You are lying... how is this possible... Maybe those two people are not reporters but his friends? Yes! That might be the case! I should confront him!"

Yu Holea: "..." What a pig brain.

She was truly stunned by Ou Xiaoxiao’s delusional level and didn’t let Ou Xiaoxiao’s hand go. Unconsciously she used her powers and a wave of memories flashed in front of her.

A blank expression appeared on Yu Holea’s face as she looked at Ou Xiaoxiao.

’What the hell!’
