Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 779: Closure
Chapter 779: Chapter 779: Closure
Yu Shuchang’s eyes didn’t waver as he answered, calm and deliberate.
"Marriage."
Sheng Yin’s breath caught.
Her mind reeled, and for a moment, she didn’t hear anything else—just the deafening thump of her heartbeat. Marriage? Her eyes widened, and her lips parted in shock.
And then it hit her.
The contract.
It had been stated that if Sheng Yin wasn’t married by the time she turned twenty-five, she would be required to marry Yu Shuchang.
But tomorrow was her birthday.
Her twenty-fifth birthday.
Sheng Yin’s face drained of color. She stared at Yu Shuchang like she was seeing him for the first time.
Yu Shuchang chuckled softly, his voice low and amused. "You remember now, don’t you?"
Sheng Yin’s lips trembled. She bit down on them and turned her face away. "If you marry me," she said in a small voice, "you’ll regret it."
Yu Shuchang stepped closer, his expression gentler now. "If I don’t," he said, "I’ll regret everything."
His words were soft, but they sank into her chest like weights.
Sheng Yin looked up at him, her eyes searching his face for a trace of mockery—but there was none. Only quiet certainty.
She didn’t know what to say. Her throat felt tight.
Yu Shuchang studied her for a long second, then tilted his head. "Do you not want to get married?" he asked gently.
Sheng Yin didn’t answer. She couldn’t.
Her lips moved, but no sound came out.
Yu Shuchang’s smile turned playful. "Alright then. Let me make it easier for you."
He raised his hand and showed her five fingers. "If you don’t answer in five seconds, I’ll take that as a yes."
Sheng Yin’s eyes widened in alarm. "Wait!"
"Five," he said.
She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
"Four."
He stepped closer.
"Three."
She opened her mouth to interrupt him. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Before she could react, though, Yu Shuchang leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. Just a peck—nothing like before. But it was enough to leave her stunned.
"Two...one "
Sheng Yin’s body froze, her mind blank. Her heart skipped a beat.
He stepped back with a boyish grin.
"Time’s up," he said. "Now you have to marry me."
Sheng Yin stared at him, speechless, her face burning.
She knew she should yell at him, protest, say something—but her lips stayed shut, and her heart... wasn’t entirely against the idea.
Yet,
"No. I don’t want to get married. Trust me, Shuchang, it’s for your own good." Sheng Yin said softly.
Yu Shuchang felt he would develop trauma with the phrase ’it’s for your own good’
’She is acting foolishly. She likes me, but keeps on saying that it’s good for me and stays away from me. If I let her have her way, maybe we won’t be together, even after 30 years!’ He thought.
Respecting a partner’s choice was good, but if they are acting foolishly, it’s better to correct their decision.
With that thought. He smiled and said,
"Alright, I won’t force you. It’s your free will. But I need closure. Why don’t you come to my home tonight? As long as your decision is the same, I won’t force you. I am even ready to agree to your conditions."
Sheng Yin was stunned by Yu Shuchang’s words, and she even felt disappointed.
’Heh! What are you feeling disappointed about? Did you want him to continue to force you to marry him? He might have realised that you are not worth it and is giving you the last chance to accept his proposal.
No! For his own good, you have to firmly deny him!’
"Alright!" Sheng Yin agreed, her heart felt as if someone had stomped on it, her eyes turned slight red, her throat felt blocked.
It was the same feeling when she saw Yu Shuchang and Susan being intimate.
With a forced smile, she said,
"Then...after I reject you, can you date Susan? It would be best if you get married to her first and then date her. Yu Shuchang its for your own good. You will thank me later."
Yu Shuchang was fuming and almost wanted to execute his plan right then and there. But he controlled his temper and smiled,
"Okay."
Sheng Yin saw the smile and knew Yu Shuchang wasn’t taking her words seriously.
’I will bring her with me. In that way, Yu Shuchang and she will get acquainted.’
Feeling the bitterness rising in her heart, she clenched her fist and warned herself,
’Don’t be greedy. He has done so much for you! The least you can do is ensure his happiness.’
After the shoot, Sheng Yin informed Susan about the dinner date with Yu Shuchang and invited her.
Susan was thrilled. At the same time, she decided to take action tonight and make Yu Shuchang hers.
...........
Yu Shuchang stood near the dining table, his eyes scanning the front door with quiet anticipation.
The table was set perfectly—two wine glasses, a gentle flicker of candlelight, and warm dishes giving off the scent of freshly cooked food.
He had made sure everything was perfect for tonight. He had even dimmed the lights just enough to give the room a soft, cozy glow.
This was supposed to be a moment of clarity—one final conversation to break through the wall Sheng Yin had put up between them.
But when the door opened, and he saw her stepping in...
His breath caught.
Because right behind her was Susan.
Susan, dressed far too nicely for a casual dinner. Susan, clinging to Sheng Yin’s arm like a date instead of a guest.
Yu Shuchang’s jaw tensed, but he didn’t let his expression crack. He gave a polite nod and stepped forward, pulling out a chair for Sheng Yin, then one for Susan.
"Thank you for inviting us," Susan said sweetly, flashing him a smile that was far too flirtatious for his liking.
Yu Shuchang forced a stiff smile. "Of course."
The three of them sat down, and dinner began. Or rather, the performance began.
Susan chattered endlessly, asking about the food, complimenting his villa, leaning closer whenever she spoke to him.
But Yu Shuchang didn’t look at her.
Not even once.
His eyes only met Sheng Yin’s—and she couldn’t hold his gaze for more than a few seconds. She looked uncomfortable, fiddling with her fork and barely touching her food. She was clearly tense, and Yu Shuchang wasn’t about to let her off the hook that easily.
Susan, of course, kept trying.
"Oh, Yu Shuchang, I didn’t know you were so good at cooking," she said with a playful laugh. "Are you trying to win someone’s heart tonight?"
Yu Shuchang didn’t respond.
He simply stood, picked up a few empty plates, and carried them toward the kitchen.
He needed a second to cool his head before it boiled over.
But before he could fully unload the dishes into the sink, footsteps followed him in. He turned, expecting Sheng Yin.
It was Susan.
He narrowed his eyes slightly. "What are you doing in here?"
Susan blinked innocently. "I was wondering if you could show me where the bathroom is. Your house is so big... I got a little lost."
Yu Shuchang sighed and nodded silently. He walked past her, leading her down a hallway toward the guest bathroom. He pointed at the door.
"Here," he said shortly. "It’s right—"
But before he could turn to leave, he heard the unmistakable sound of fabric rustling fast.
He turned.
And froze.
Susan had undone her dress in one swift motion. It fell to the floor in a silken puddle, leaving her standing in only lingerie. She stepped forward with open arms and wrapped them around him from behind.
"I love you, Shuchang," she whispered breathily. "Please... make me yours."
Yu Shuchang’s entire body tensed in disgust. He reached for her hands and pulled them off his body with controlled force, stepping away.
"What the hell are you doing?" he asked sharply, eyes narrowed with fury. "Have you lost your mind?"
Susan’s eyes shimmered with desperation. "Sheng Yin told me to do this!" she said quickly, her voice cracking. "She said you liked bold women! She told me to come with her tonight—told me this would make you happy!"
Those words hit him like a slap.
Sheng Yin?
He stared at Susan, trying to make sense of what she was saying.
But then—clarity.
He realized what Sheng Yin had tried to do. She thought pushing Susan toward him would make things easier. That by watching him "move on," she’d find peace. That sacrificing her own heart would somehow protect his.
Yu Shuchang’s jaw clenched.
That woman really was an idiot sometimes.
But he would deal with Sheng Yin later.
Currently he was angy.
It was toward the manipulative, desperate woman standing in front of him half-naked.
Without another word, he pulled out his phone and dialed.
"Yes, it’s me. Come to the hallway outside the guest bathroom. There’s someone I want escorted out of the villa immediately."
