Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 762: Assumptions
Chapter 762: Chapter 762: Assumptions
Qiao Jun raised one eyebrow and nodded like it was no big deal.
Yu Holea gave a small sigh and leaned back, her arms folded. "And here I thought you’d ignore it."
"I can ignore others," Qiao Jun said, standing up slowly and walking toward her, "but not when they mess with you."
He stopped right in front of her, eyes locked onto hers. "But now... I want an explanation."
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. "Explanation?"
He gave her a tiny smirk. "About those photos. You and Lin Zhihao. You and Xu Tian. Don’t worry, I’m not mad. I trust you..."
His eyes darkened just a little.
"...but I don’t trust those green tea actors in the entertainment circle."
Yu Holea rolled her eyes and crossed her legs. "Xu Tian did like me a little."
Qiao Jun’s expression didn’t change.
"But I never responded to him," she added quickly. "He knew I wasn’t interested. And he never flirted with me or tried anything shady. He’s... just a good friend who didn’t hide his feelings."
Qiao Jun stared at her for a moment. Then, finally, he smiled.
"Good. Because if anyone else tries to steal you..."
He leaned closer, his voice dropping.
"...I’ll make sure they regret it more than Liu Meiyu does."
"She is indeed at fault, but not everything is her mistake, so don’t ruin her entire career." Yu Holea said calmly.
Even if the photos were released, at most Yu Holea would have to lie low for a while, if she were an ordinary girl.
However, if the current news continued to trend, Liu Meiyu most likely would have to leave the entertainment industry.
From what she could see, Liu Meiyu was the breadwinner of her family; if her career got ruined, it would be over for her family.
Qiao Jun looked at Yu Holea with a frown. "You’re still thinking about her? After what she tried to do to you?"
Yu Holea nodded slowly. "Yes. She’s wrong, and she should be punished. But that doesn’t mean we should destroy her whole life."
Qiao Jun crossed his arms. "She tried to destroy your life."
Yu Holea sighed.
"I know. And I’m angry too. But... if I really wanted to ruin her, I would’ve done it long ago. She’s not smart enough to hide her bad deeds." freёwebnoѵel.com
She stood up and walked to the window, looking outside. The moon was shining softly.
"And anyway, the rumors of her bullying and having a sugar daddy are completely lies. So shut down this rumor after half an hour."
"You are too softhearted." Qiao Jun sighed.
Yu Holea chuckled,
"If I were truly a soft-hearted girl, I would have begged you not to harm her in the first place."
Qiao Jun looked at her, a little surprised, then laughed softly.
"Fair point. Alright. I already told my people to shut it down in half an hour. That should be enough to scare her."
Yu Holea nodded. "Good."
There was a quiet moment between them.
Qiao Jun stared at Yu Holea for a while before saying in a soft voice,
"Holea, is there something on your mind that is bugging you?"
Yu Holea looked down at her hands for a moment. She hesitated, then said softly, "Qiao Jun... I’ve been thinking."
He tilted his head, waiting.
"I want to leave the entertainment industry."
Qiao Jun blinked, surprised. "Leave? Why?"
Yu Holea let out a small sigh.
"I joined it just for fun at first... I wanted to try something new. But now, it’s not fun anymore.
There’s too much lying, too many fake smiles, and too much drama. I feel like I’m pretending every day. It’s just... boring and dirty."
Qiao Jun’s face softened. He understood right away.
"I get it," he said in a quiet voice. "You don’t have to explain more. If you really want to leave, I’ll support you. No matter what you choose."
Yu Holea looked up at him and smiled gently. "Thank you."
Qiao Jun smiled back, then suddenly stepped closer.
"But..." he said, his voice turning a little playful, "I think you owe me something."
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. "Owe you?"
"Yes," Qiao Jun said with a serious face.
"Another guy dared to hug my girlfriend. I need some kind of... compensation."
Yu Holea rolled her eyes.
"Oh, please. No one touched me. The photo was taken from a angle which made you think that Xu Tian was hugging me, when in reality he wasn’t. You’re overreacting."
Qiao Jun didn’t answer. Instead, he grabbed her hand gently and placed it on his chest.
"Feel that?" he said, staring into her eyes.
"My heart was hurting. I thought maybe you liked Xu Tian. I was jealous, okay?"
Yu Holea blinked, surprised by how serious he looked.
"And now," Qiao Jun added dramatically, "the only thing that can heal this broken heart... is your kiss."
Yu Holea looked at him for a second. He was acting like a big, clingy puppy. Her heart felt warm, and she couldn’t help but laugh inside.
"You’re so dramatic," she said, shaking her head.
But then she leaned forward and gave him a small, soft peck on the lips.
"There. Happy?"
But Qiao Jun didn’t move back.
His hand slipped behind her waist, pulling her closer. Before she could say anything, he kissed her again—this time deeper, stronger, full of all his feelings.
Yu Holea’s eyes widened for a second, but then she slowly closed them. Her hands rested on his chest, and she kissed him back gently.
The kiss wasn’t wild, but it was full of warmth. Full of care. Like a promise only they understood.
When they finally pulled apart, both of them were quiet.
Qiao Jun smiled softly. "Now I’m better."
Yu Holea laughed and lightly hit his chest. "You’re such a baby."
"Only for you," he said proudly.
He then moves toward her collarbone, but suddenly Yu Holea stops him.
"What happened?" Qiao Jun asked in a hoarse voice.
"My ghost...they have found the location of Zhao Yiran. I need to go and deal with Yu Mei..." Yu Holea said.
Qiao Jun sighed and muttered,
"I wish we could get married right away..."
Yu Holea cupped his face and said,
"We will. Now I am going."
With that, she took out a teleportation talisman and flicked it in the air. The next second, a golden light enveloped her, and she vanished from her original position.
Zhao Yiran sat on a fancy sofa in a dark, cozy room. She wore a silky red dress and held a crystal wine glass filled with dark red wine.
The room smelled like roses and something sweet. She took a slow sip of the wine, her lips curling into a sly smile.
Then, she picked up her phone and called someone.
Ring... ring... click!
The call connected.
"What do you want?" Liu Meiyu’s sharp voice came from the other side.
Zhao Yiran leaned back, twirling the wine in her glass. "Oh, nothing much. I just thought you should know... Yu Holea was the one who leaked those fake news stories about you."
There was silence for a second, then Liu Meiyu’s voice came back, louder and angrier.
"It’s her fiancé, don’t you dare-"
"Think about it," Zhao Yiran cut her off. Her voice was smooth and calm. "She has the power, the fans, and the reasons. Everyone believes her. And now your career is going down the drain."
Liu Meiyu growled, "I don’t need your help!"
"But I can help you." Zhao Yiran’s smile widened. "If you want to change the story, if you want people to believe you, you’ll have to do exactly what I say."
Liu Meiyu snapped, "If you hadn’t given me those stupid photos in the first place, I wouldn’t be in this mess!"
Zhao Yiran laughed softly. "You’re overreacting. It was just a few harmless pictures."
Suddenly, another voice cut through the room—cold, clear, and sharp.
"She’s not overreacting."
Zhao Yiran froze. Her wine glass trembled in her hand. Slowly, she turned her head toward the voice.
Standing near the doorway, glowing faintly under the moonlight, was Yu Holea.
Her expression was calm, but her eyes were ice cold.
Zhao Yiran’s smile vanished. Her hand dropped the wine glass, and it shattered on the floor.
"H-How... how did you find me?" she stammered.
Yu Holea stepped forward, the golden shimmer from the teleportation still fading from her body.
"It wasn’t hard," she said with a small smile. "Your ghosts might hide well... but mine are better."
Zhao Yiran took a shaky step back. "I don’t know what you’re talking about..."
Yu Holea tilted her head. "Oh, come on, Yu Mei. Stop pretending."
Zhao Yiran’s eyes widened in fear.
"W-What... who are you calling Yu Mei? I am not Yu Mei! Don’t make assumptions—"
"It doesn’t matter," Yu Holea said calmly, cutting her off. "You’ve done enough. And honestly, I don’t need proof to deal with people like you."
