Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world-Chapter 83: Discussions [4]
Chapter 83: Discussions [4]
Brandon and Charlotte are walking through the most inner part of the church with Matilda in front of them leading their way.
Matilda sighed in her heart ’He is not listening at all.’
Charlotte and Brandon looked around and saw some enormous pictures of the previous Pontiffs along the way.
Soon, they reached an enormous double door and Matilda pushed open the door for them.
Beyond the threshold, the Chamber of Divinity revealed itself.
As soon as they entered, Brandon saw a long table in the middle of the chamber and an enormous statue of Goddess Rheanne in the back.
His eyes flickered to the six women seated around the table.
He first looked at the one wearing purplish robes, the Supreme Pontiff.
She had long black hair and dark crimson eyes, and an indifferent mature face as she sat there like a queen.
His eyes then flickered to the two women wearing yellow robes.
One of them had purple hair and purple eyes, while the other had blonde hair and blue eyes.
’They must be the Empyreans belonging to the Church.’
Then he looked at the two elderly women wearing blue robes just like Matilda.
’The other two of the Sacred Triarch....’
And then his eyes finally stopped on the Acolyte, Valiene Himelle.
As he stepped in, the next instant, everyone stood up from their seats, and a gust of wind followed.
Huh? When did she...
Brandon’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at the woman kneeling in front of him with absolute reverence as the folds of her robe pooled gracefully around her.
It was the blonde-haired woman, one of the Empyreans in the church.
"It is my pleasure to be in your presence, the Herald of Divinity."
As she spoke, she raised her hand and gently held Brandon’s wrist before she moved her lips and kissed the back of his palm.
"Lord Herald..."
Brandon blinked, and his gaze flickered to the table where everyone was bowing their heads to him.
With a sigh, he retracted his hand from her lips "Get up..."
The blonde-haired woman rose to her feet and glanced back at Charlotte.
Her eyes narrowed slightly "Charlotte?"
Charlotte just stayed silent and the Supreme Pontiff, Eleonore Himelle, spoke in a soft tone "Lord Herald, I think since you are new, you don’t know the rules."
"Anyone who is not under the higher echelon of the Divine Order is not allowed in the Chamber of Divinity."
The blonde haired woman, Callista von Aubrecht, who was standing beside him nodded her head "Yes, my Lord Herald. Outsiders are not allo-"
But Brandon raised his hand, interrupting her "FIrst thing, she is not an outsider. She is my Big Sister."
"Second thing, I set rules here."
Hearing this, everyone stayed silent.
Brandon smiled in his heart, seeing the surprised faces of the women.
Is he acting arrogant?
Of course he is.
If he shows them that he is weak-minded, he would be under their rule.
One of the Triarchs spoke "Lord Herald, we can see your sentiment."
"But the laws and traditions of the Church have guided us for centuries, ensuring order and stability. Surely, you can understand why we adhere to them so strictly."
With a nod, Brandon replied "Sure, I can understand. But I won’t be shackled by traditions that serve no purpose other than to limit me."
"If I am the Herald, then I will decide what is and isn’t allowed. Charlotte stays."
Matilda sighed, "You surely are stubborn."
Callista, standing beside him, bowed her head. "If the Lord Herald has spoken, then it is not our place to question his decree."
Eleonore looked at him for a moment longer before slowly inclining her head. "Very well."
Brandon gaze flickered to the beautiful woman beside him and asked "What is your name?"
Hearing this, a smile appeared on Callista’s face and she lowered her head "My name is Callista von Aubrecht, one of the Empyreans."
Brandon smiled at her "Then, I will just call you Callista."
Seeing him call her by her name, Callista was overjoyed, and a big smile appeared on her face.
She placed her hand over her chest and bowed her head slightly. "Yes, My Lord."
Brandon nodded his head and walked to the largest seat at the front, and Charlotte silently followed him.
As she looked around, she saw that there was no seat for her.
Brandon took his seat and one by one, the women seated themselves as well, their gazes flickering between Brandon and each other.
Meanwhile, Charlotte sat on the table beside Brandon.
A few eyes twitched at her blatant disregard for tradition, but no one spoke out.
Leaning back on his seat, he looked around at the people "I don’t know any of you.. So, it would be good if you all introduced yourselves."
The Supreme Pontiff, Eleonore Himelle, was the first to speak.
"I am Eleonore Himelle, the Supreme Pontiff of the Holy Church," she introduced herself.
"I am the highest authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and divine decree. It is my responsibility to ensure the will of the Goddess is upheld and that the Holy Church continues to serve as a beacon of order."
Brandon hummed in response, and his gaze flickered to the next one.
Next, the woman with striking violet hair and piercing purple eyes spoke "I am Lucienne d’Albret, one of the Empyreans of the Holy Church."
"My duty is to serve, to protect, and to uphold the will of the divine."
She lowered her gaze slightly "To stand before you is the greatest honor I have ever known."
Then another woman stood up to speak, "My name is Isabeau, one of the Sacred Triarchs. I oversee all matters related to doctrine, divine law, and enforcement of sacred teachings."
She placed a hand over her heart in a subtle gesture of respect. "It is an honor to meet you, Lord Herald."
Then Matilda stood up to speak "My name is Matilda, one of the Triarchs. I am responsible for overseeing sacred traditions and maintaining the purity of faith."
She inclined her head slightly. "As the Herald, your existence is beyond precedent... but it is my duty to ensure that your role aligns with the will of the divine."
Next woman spoke "I am Geneviève, one of the Sacred Triarchs. My knowledge lies in the ancient scriptures, the prophecies, and the recorded history of our faith."
It was Valiene’s turn next "My name is Valiene Himelle. Acolyte of the Divine Order."
Finally, the last to speak was Callista von Aubrecht.
Placing her hand over her chest once more, she spoke with unwavering reverence. "I am Callista von Aubrecht, an Empyrean of the Holy Church."
Brandon sighed inwardly.
This whole thing is still ridiculous to him.
All these powerful, important women... bowing, kneeling, waiting on his words.
In a world where men are mostly hated.
Well, getting spoiled in a woman dominating world is not bad, right?
