Chapter 848: The Five-Yin Mystic Body

Qin Sang quietly took out the spirit talisman he had obtained from that young man. Holding the strand of true devilish qi in his palm, he tried once more to activate the talisman. Yet it remained still and silent. Clearly, he was doing something wrong.

"Xiang Yi and Granny Yue both hold high positions within the merchant alliance. Xiang Yi is even a trusted aide of the Dongji Alliance's leader. Could it be that the leader of the Dongji Alliance is some great devil? But then again, the rumors say that even devilish cultivators of today cannot withstand the corrosion of ancient true devilish qi. Who exactly is Granny Yue’s old friend?"

He put away the talisman, his mind turning over these thoughts.

When he tried recalling the image of the Dongji Alliance's leader, he found the figure surprisingly indistinct, cloaked in mystery. There were many rumors about him, but all contradictory, none reliable. He was well hidden.

The same was true for the leaders of the other two great merchant alliances. Not even their true realms were known with certainty.

By contrast, the Demonic Lord and the righteous leader, Lingzhuzi, sect leader of the Heavenly Dao Sect, were not so mysterious. They were confirmed to be late-stage Spiritual Infant cultivators.

"Truth and falsehood, falsehood and truth... entwined with one another. And outside of this, the witch race and demon race eyeing everything hungrily. The cultivation world here truly is in chaos." Qin Sang sighed inwardly, deciding not to dig deeper, lest he draw disaster upon himself.

Meanwhile, Granny Yue silently descended into the valley depths, her figure sliding along the stone wall.

The further she went, the darker the mist became, and the thicker the true devilish qi.

Her expression hardened. With a flick of her arm, her fingers spread, releasing strands of transparent silk. They shot downward, disappearing into the mist.

Below, upon a protruding boulder, stood a giant eagle, as large as a grown man. It appeared to be asleep, but in truth it was on alert.

Here, one could not avoid the corrosion of true devilish qi.

The black-feathered eagle had its head tucked beneath its wing, standing on one leg. A flowing brilliance shimmered across its feathers, shielding it from the true devilish qi.

The strands of silk fell silently. The vigilant eagle remained unaware.

Only when the threads touched it did the eagle suddenly sense danger. Its wings flared wide, neck stretched high, ready to cry out, yet not a sound escaped. Panic filled its eyes.

In an instant, the eagle was bound tight, unable to move.

Granny Yue appeared upon the boulder, frowning as she studied the beast.

"The disturbance has indeed drawn these vermin. This one possesses peak Demonic Spirit Realm strength. Left here to watch, while the others must have gone to inform the great demon."

She lifted her eyes upward, worry flickering within them. "Judging from this scene, the true devilish qi must have only begun leaking in recent days. There is still time..."

After a brief thought, she clenched her hand. Fire burst across the silk threads, burning the eagle to ashes in an instant. Then she continued her descent.

The valley was deep, the emanations of true devilish qi growing denser. Even Granny Yue had to activate her astra to protect herself.

No other beasts lurked within. Relieved, she sank deeper until her feet finally touched solid ground in the darkness.

"Fortunately, the amount of true devilish qi here is not too great. Otherwise, even with my cultivation, I would not dare force my way in. Success or failure lies here. Do not let me down..."

A burning light flickered in her eyes. She searched, and soon found an unremarkable cave opening.

From it, streams of purest true devilish qi poured endlessly. The surroundings were a wreck, barriers shattered by the violent eruption.

Seeing no signs of any great demon, Granny Yue wasted no time and slipped inside.

The tunnel was winding and sloped downward. She moved quickly and soon reached an underground hall. Her foot suddenly crunched on something. She picked it up. It was a fragment of jade.

Her expression changed sharply. Hastening forward, she found more and more fragments until the entire floor was littered with broken jade.

"Have they all shattered?"

Her throat tightened. These were the jade coffins she had left here long ago. They had now turned to shards.

"Open!" With a sharp cry, threads of silk lashed out in all directions. Fire flared along them, driving back the true devilish qi for a moment, revealing the hall clearly.

At its center stood a complex array. Within it lay a single jade coffin, intact.

Inside the coffin was a girl.

She was beautiful, with an air of innocence, her eyes closed as though in slumber, like a sleeping beauty.

Her body was unclothed, her form flawless, her skin unnaturally pale, drained of all blood.

Upon seeing her, Granny Yue’s eyes filled with ecstasy. In a flash, she appeared at the coffin, bending close to gaze at the girl, her eyes full of obsession.

Her gnarled hands caressed the coffin, as though stroking the girl’s cheek, gentle and careful.

When she saw the girl’s nose twitch slightly, Granny Yue laughed silently.

Soon she calmed herself, casting a wary glance toward the cave entrance. Then she bit her fingertip, painting mysterious runes in blood upon the coffin.

The blood runes glowed crimson, then sank into the jade.

With effort, Granny Yue lifted the coffin lid. The girl’s eyelids fluttered, then slowly opened. Confusion filled her face as she sat up like one rising from a long dream.

"You are awake?"

Granny Yue’s voice was like an incantation. The girl trembled, fear showing upon her face, clearly terrified of her.

"Do you still remember your name? Who am I to you?"

Granny Yue stared into her eyes, her tone low and bewitching, like a devilish sound.

"I..." The girl opened her mouth, then clutched her head in pain, body shaking violently.

Granny Yue only watched coldly, neither speaking nor interfering.

"I am Su Nu! You are my master." Her trembling ceased. She stared blankly at Granny Yue, her eyes dull.

Granny Yue’s lips curved, her tone coaxing. "That’s right. You are Su Nu, my disciple. The only Su Nu. Do you remember your ability? Show me."

Su Nu looked around in confusion.

Granny Yue released a strand of silk, allowing a surge of true devilish qi to rush forward. The girl instinctively raised her hand. She grasped the devilish qi, and by reflex activated her cultivation art.

An astonishing scene unfolded. The true devilish qi was drawn straight into her body. Su Nu screamed in pain, curling upon the ground. But then, within her body, five strange meridians swallowed it down.

Though the process was slow, the true devilish qi gradually grew docile.

Su Nu recovered, her gaze still clouded.

Granny Yue could no longer conceal her delight. Her wrinkled face bunched into a frenzy of laughter. "Hahaha! The Five-Yin Mystic Body! Truly the Five-Yin Mystic Body! That secret art really worked. With the aid of ancient true devilish qi, a postnatal Five-Yin Mystic Body has truly been forged. The ancients did not deceive me!"
