Chapter 825: Tyrant Blood Fruit

Xiangan Auction House.

Qin Sang finally met Alchemist Yi.

"After so many years, Daoist Qin's elegance remains unchanged." Alchemist Yi pushed the door open and entered with a warm smile.

Behind him followed a maid holding a tray. She presented the Mustard Seed Pouch upon the tray to Qin Sang.

Opening it, Qin Sang saw the spiritual materials he had previously entrusted the Xiangan Auction House to gather, which were needed to set up the spiritual array for refining the banner poles of the Yan Luo Banners of Ten Directions.

He had already collected part of them before. Now, with the rest supplemented, only the high-grade spirit stones remained lacking.

"You have gone to great trouble, Daoist!" Qin Sang’s expression brightened as he took the materials, handed over the spirit stones, and watched another large portion of his savings disappear. Fortunately, he had struck fortune a few times in the past and could still manage for now.

Once the maid withdrew, Qin Sang continued, "After we parted back then, I came here a few more times and heard that you had gone to the Demonic Sea. Later, due to an urgent matter, I had to leave Tianxing Island. I never thought that once gone, it would be for several years. I heard the commotion back then was not small, and that you were not the only one sent to the Demonic Sea. When did you return?"

"That’s right, I did go to the Demonic Sea, along with quite a few Daoists. Most are still there, but I recently found a chance to return." Alchemist Yi’s smile faded as he let out a sigh.

Seeing that he seemed to have words left unsaid, Qin Sang grew curious and asked solemnly, "Daoist Yi, did something happen in the Demonic Sea?"

Alchemist Yi nodded, hesitated briefly, then waved a hand to set up a sound-proofing barrier. "If you trust me, Daoist Qin, you would best avoid going to the Demonic Sea in the near future. I suspect great changes are coming."

"What do you mean by that?" Qin Sang’s tone grew serious.

He guessed in secret. In the Demonic Sea, the human race and the witch race have to work together to survive, their only common enemy being the demon race. Could it be the demon race was stirring?

If the two races are driven out of the Demonic Sea by the demon race, and all the cultivators are trapped in Canglang Sea... The chaos that will ensue is unimaginable.

"I can’t say my suspicions are entirely accurate, but in the two years I was in the Demonic Sea, beast tide attacks on the islands clearly increased. Two Spiritual Infant grandmasters were even forced to abandon their islands, nearly cutting off an entire shipping route. They say those demonic beasts moved with coordination, possibly under the command of a great demonic beast. The recent actions of the merchant alliance’s high-level figures may be because they have noticed similar signs. I had a constant sense of foreboding, so I found a chance to request my return. I only know alchemy, not combat, and I do not wish to be trapped in the midst of a beast tide." Alchemist Yi shook his head repeatedly.

Qin Sang had spent decades in the Demonic Sea and had personally faced beast tides, so he knew the situation there well. Upon hearing Alchemist Yi’s words, he too sensed that something was amiss.

Beast tides attacking cultivator-occupied islands were not unheard of. For example, the Five-Elemental Islands had once been assaulted repeatedly until all five were lost and the cultivators forced to flee.

But an island guarded by a Spiritual Infant grandmaster was rarely breached, perhaps once in a century. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Yet now, in just a few short years, two such islands had been abandoned. That was far from normal.

"What is the demon race planning? Surely they wouldn’t try to drive all cultivators out of the Demonic Sea? As far as I know, Tianwu Island and Desolate Island have never fallen. They are linked by teleportation arrays and can dispatch experts at any time," Qin Sang said in puzzlement.

"Who can say? We still know far too little about the demon race, only that several top clans rule the Demonic Sea. I’m not worried about Tianwu Island or Desolate Island falling, but in a great war, blades have no eyes. We are insignificant, and if drawn in, we would have no control over our fate. Keeping your corpse whole after falling into the hands of demonic beasts would be a luxury."

Alchemist Yi’s tone paused briefly, then he smiled. "Of course, this is only my personal opinion. It may not be accurate. Perhaps I am simply too fond of keeping my own life."

"I believe what you said is not unreasonable. Thank you for the warning." Qin Sang was grateful and cupped his hands in thanks.

Alchemist Yi seemed to recall something and changed the subject. "Daoist Qin, you came straight here upon your return, was it for the spiritual fruit?"

"I am surprised you still remember." Qin Sang smiled faintly.

"Of course. I have never gone back on a promise."

As he spoke, Alchemist Yi took out a jade slip and handed it over. "After returning, I finally found this fruit in a demon race ancient text from a friend’s collection. See if it matches. Translated from the demon language, it’s called the Tyrant Blood Fruit, a demon fruit that can change one’s blood, cleanse tendons, and temper bones. Its medicinal power is extremely fierce, such that only demonic beasts, with their powerful bodies, can withstand it. If we cultivators took it directly, there is a risk of our bodies exploding. If you find this fruit, never consume it raw, find an alchemist to find a way to temper its properties."

"Tyrant Blood Fruit?" The name struck Qin Sang like a thunderclap.

The Heavenly Demon Body Refinement mentioned three spiritual herbs that could aid in breaking through to the third stage, one of which was called the Tyrant Blood Fruit.

The other two were the Azure Reed Root and the Scorpion Venom Grass. Only the names were given, no illustrations.

Back then, he had inquired with no success, planning to consult Alchemist Yi when he returned. He never expected that one of the fruits would already be in his possession.

Qin Sang kept his expression calm as he steadily received the jade slip. Upon reading Alchemist Yi’s transcription, he immediately found the demon language name exactly matching that in the Heavenly Demon Body Refinement.

"It really is the Tyrant Blood Fruit."

Reading through the demon language text, Qin Sang found Alchemist Yi’s words accurate. It was indeed a demon fruit of fierce medicinal power, with miraculous effects on tempering the body.

For demonic beasts, it was a rare treasure.

When ripe, the fruit’s surface was crisscrossed with blood-like veins, its skin the color of fresh blood. The ones in his possession were unripe, but still retained much of their medicinal effect.

Demonic beasts take it raw. Once I break through to the third stage of the Heavenly Demon Body Refinement and my body undergoes metamorphosis, I should be able to take it as well. Still, I do not yet know where to find the Star Essence Infusion site. With one Tyrant Blood Fruit already, if I can obtain the other two rare herbs, it could help me break through the bottleneck. That would be an option worth pursuing.

His thoughts turned rapidly. Withdrawing his spiritual consciousness from the jade slip, Qin Sang stood and thanked him. "You have gone to great trouble. It is indeed the same fruit, I finally know its name."

Alchemist Yi shook his head. "Do not celebrate too soon. This fruit is extremely difficult to find. I have never even heard of anyone obtaining it. Knowing the name is useless without the herb itself."

"You are right. Besides, this is not the only rare herb I seek. Have you heard of the Azure Reed Root and the Scorpion Venom Grass?" Qin Sang said with a bitter smile.

"Those..." Alchemist Yi was momentarily taken aback. "If I had not just checked the records, I would not recall them at all. They are also rare herbs used by demonic beasts to temper their bodies. Daoist Qin, are you a body cultivator?"
