Gateway of Immortality-Chapter 783: The Seventh Level
Crack!
Bang! Bang!
Three successive impacts shattered the three barriers one after another.
Even the copper mirror, famed for its formidable defense, did not escape destruction. Struck fiercely, a crack emerged down its center, splitting it in two, and leaving its future restoration uncertain.
Qin Sang's vision darkened. Pain tore through his body as if struck by a mountain. His true essence drained rapidly, and the protective light surrounding him nearly flickered out.
Sharp as blades, fragments of golden light slashed at him, while devilish qi relentlessly eroded his true essence.
Qin Sang was hurled backwards, becoming separated from the Two-Headed Hou and the old woman.
However, his anxiety eased slightly. Their combined efforts had barely managed to withstand the strongest wave of the assault. Though injured, they at least would not perish here.
After a grueling struggle, the residual shockwaves gradually subsided.
With a pale face, Qin Sang steadied himself in the void and caught sight of the Two-Headed Hou and the old woman nearby.
The Two-Headed Hou’s appearance was rather amusing. Patches of fur were missing here and there, and its tail was completely bald. Yet, it remained vigorous and full of life.
Noticing Qin Sang's gaze, the Two-Headed Hou growled indignantly at him before retreating into the Primordial Unity Ring to recover from its injuries.
The old woman stood motionless, clutching the broken halves of the copper mirror in her hands. Her gaze was dim and unfocused, seemingly lost in thought.
Qin Sang glanced around. Golden light and devilish qi lingering in the void swiftly dispersed.
He searched for the others. Daoist Yin was nowhere to be seen.
However, in another direction, silver radiance shone through the dissipating shockwave, eventually revealing the figure of Daoist Di, who, though equally battered, had also survived.
"Daoist Su, where are you going?"
To Qin Sang’s surprise, after standing motionless for a while, the elderly couple turned around to head back. He couldn't help but ask aloud.
The old woman smiled bitterly and replied hoarsely, "For this expedition, I've spent countless years preparing. The two treasures I painstakingly crafted to confront the dangers within were both completely destroyed here. Proceeding now would be futile, merely courting death. Fortunately, my remaining lifespan is sufficient to await the next opening of Seven-Kill Hall. I shall take my leave first, Daoist Qin. May your efforts bear fruit."
Qin Sang fell silent.
The treasure was just ahead, only one final step away.
Such unexpected misfortune was something no one could foresee.
Had he experienced this rollercoaster of hope and despair, he too wouldn't know how to respond.
As the old woman prepared to leave, the teleportation array suddenly lit up again.
The grand witch priest and the Devil Lord had been battling fiercely right beside the stone platform, apparently unconcerned with damaging the teleportation array.
Indeed, when the shockwave surged forth, the stone platform radiated an azure glow that effectively shielded itself. The array remained undamaged despite the clash of two late-stage Spiritual Infant grandmasters.
Seeing the teleportation array activate again, Qin Sang and the others instinctively recoiled, like startled birds, retreating hurriedly. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
From within the array emerged over a dozen figures in succession.
Their powerful auras, second only to the grand witch priest and the Devil Lord, marked each one unmistakably as a Spiritual Infant grandmaster!
Among them were both the witch race and human race. Upon exiting, some immediately engaged in battle, while others swiftly mounted their evasion lights to pursue their targets.
Only after these individuals had entirely vanished from sight did Qin Sang and the others finally exhale in relief.
"I wonder what treasures those Spiritual Infant cultivators discovered up there, that they openly tore their faces apart to fight over them. Daoist Su, aren't you curious to go and take a look? Perhaps there's an opportunity waiting," Qin Sang turned and asked.
The old woman shook her head, bid Qin Sang farewell, and resolutely departed.
Seeing no other Spiritual Infant grandmasters appearing, Qin Sang alone took flight, heading directly for the teleportation array.
Just as he was about to step onto it, he heard a voice behind him. Daoist Di called out, hoping to join forces. Qin Sang, however, had no intention of teaming up; he simply nodded in acknowledgment before stepping onto the teleportation array and vanishing.
Daoist Di paused at the edge of the stone platform, frowning at the now-empty teleportation array. Finally shaking his head, he also stepped onto the array and disappeared.

Seventh level of the Sky Tower.
This was the highest level that cultivators from Canglang Sea had ever reached.
It was certain that, given the Sky Tower's immense height, there had to be more than just seven levels within.
Yet over the years, countless Spiritual Infant grandmasters had entered the tower and scoured every corner of the seventh level, without ever discovering a passage or teleportation array to ascend further.
Because of this, the ancient corpse that descended from the top of the Sky Tower caused such a widespread sensation.
Some believed that uncovering the corpse would unveil the secrets of the Sky Tower, and perhaps even lead to an ancient cultivator’s supreme treasure.
The first six levels could be seen as trials for the Foundation Building and Core Formation cultivators. Logically speaking, the seventh level should have held puppets strong enough to rival Spiritual Infant grandmasters.
But that was not the case.
The scenery of the seventh level was entirely different from the six before it.
When Qin Sang stepped out from the teleportation array, he cautiously scanned his surroundings. Seeing that no other Spiritual Infant grandmasters were nearby or engaged in battle, his expression relaxed slightly, and he began to study the environment.
This level was also a shattered space.
However, unlike the ruins of bluestone-built halls in earlier levels, what floated silently in the void here were fragments of mountaintops. They floated like isolated islands, completely motionless.
They were unmistakably mountain remnants. Some pieces clearly came from cliffsides, others were lone stretches of forest, and a few had stairways running through them from top to bottom.
From the way the stairs aligned, one could tell these fragments had once been a single, continuous structure.
These fragments were not laid out on a single plane. They floated above, below, to the sides, in all directions. Their shapes and sizes varied greatly.
It was as if an ancient cultivator had sealed an entire sky-reaching divine peak inside the Sky Tower.
Qin Sang could hardly fathom what level of cultivation would be required to accomplish such a feat.
Most of the fragments were nothing more than barren rocks and sparse forests, bearing no special aura. Only a rare few showed signs of being unusual.
Some glowed with mystical light from embedded barriers. Others concealed ancient halls within their forests. Certain cliffs even exposed the cave dwellings of ancient cultivators. Everywhere exuded mystery and allure but also the danger of the unknown.
Qin Sang retrieved a geomantic map he had purchased long ago. It was the most detailed version he could afford, and at a steep price.
Fortunately, the space on the seventh level remained stable, making the geomantic map still usable.
He pinpointed his current location on the map, then glanced toward the topmost area, where one particular fragment resembled an isolated mountain valley.
There were very few labels on the map, and almost none mentioned treasures.
After all, only a handful of cultivators had ever gained anything from their Sky Tower expeditions, and information about such places was rarely leaked. Qin Sang would have to explore on his own.
But one location had been marked quite clearly: that mountain valley.
It was said to be the place most Spiritual Infant grandmasters believed most likely to conceal a teleportation array leading to the higher levels of the Sky Tower. However, no one had ever gone in to verify it.
Not because they didn’t want to but because they couldn’t.
That valley was Qin Sang’s first target.
Now that the grand witch priest and the Devil Lord had already left, he could investigate with confidence. Perhaps, just like back at Ziwei Palace, the Primordial Spirit Sword Nourishment would open the way for him once more.
Stowing the geomantic map, Qin Sang leapt into the air.
