Garbage Warrior System-Chapter 14 – The Rift’s Siege
Chapter 14 – The Rift’s Siege
The slums had never been quiet, but now even the cries of despair were drowned out by the pulsing roar of the rift above. The sky glowed with an unnatural light, shades of violet and crimson rippling outward like the veins of a dying beast. The ground shook beneath Rai’s feet, as if the entire district might plunge into the abyss that threatened to swallow it.
The surge from before had been destructive, but this was a siege.
From the heart of the rift, monstrous figures emerged, their outlines flickering against the distorted skyline. They were not just beasts this time; they were titans of corrupted awaken-stone energy, their scales and armored hides glistening with twisted light. At least a dozen monsters appeared in a synchronized wave, each possessing a presence equivalent to Level 30 or higher. Their screeches echoed like shattered horns.
“Skreeeeeeeee!”
“Raaaarghhhhhh!”
The sounds resonated through the ruins of the slums, shaking whole walls loose and collapsing towers of rubble. Civilians hid in basements, clinging to whatever hope remained. Rai stood in the midst of it all, his system interface glowing brighter than ever, with updates flooding in rapid bursts.
[System Alert – Rift Surge: Siege Mode Activated]
[Threat Level: Catastrophic]
[Lv.30+ Entities Detected Across All Sectors]

Rai tightened his fist, clad in his gauntlet. His Trash Reaper blade shimmered with violent energy, the edge now faintly glowing crimson from the node infusions. Yuki floated just behind him, her aura glowing emerald-green, her hair weightless in the rising winds of corruption. Her awakening had deepened, and she pulsed with raw energy, ready to channel directly into his constructs.
The first monster crashed into Sector Alpha.
“THUND! THUND! THUND!”
Its footsteps shattered the ground, sending tremors through the ruins. It was a hulking creature that resembled a lion, covered in crystalline armor and glowing veins across its chest. Its roar split the night:
“Raaaaaaaghhhhhh!”
Rai reacted immediately, activating Automatic Garbage Absorber Level 4. The ruins shook as debris from a kilometer away ripped free from the earth—beams, twisted metal, shattered bricks, and even old vehicles—all whirling into the air in a chaotic storm.
“WHOOOOSH! CRAAASH! SLACK! SLACK! CRRRUNCH!”
The storm condensed into constructs: spiked towers, rotating blades, and layered shield walls. The Trash Reaper Synergy held it all together. With a flick of his arm, the spiked towers came crashing down in unison, impaling the lion-creature mid-charge.
“THUUUMPHHH! KRAAAAACKKKK!”
The monster shrieked and lashed out, but Rai pushed forward, dodging claws and crystalline shards. His blade sliced through corrupted hide, each strike echoing:
“SLASHHHH! CLANGGG! SLASHHH! THUND!”
Meanwhile, Yuki extended her hands, her aura bursting into an emerald sphere. She projected a wave of energy outward—
“WHUUUUMMMMMMM!”
—throwing back a swarm of smaller corrupted creatures climbing from fissures in Sector Beta. Her barrier expanded like a dome, protecting the trapped civilians. Her voice, soft but firm, echoed in Rai’s ears:
“Rai... don’t hold back. I’ll cover the weak. You take the siege.”
He nodded, no hesitation in him.
The rift pulsed again.
From its maw, a serpentine creature slithered out, its length rivaling entire blocks. Its scales shimmered with violet-black light, each segment bristling with spines crackling with corrupted energy. When it struck the ground, it did so with tremendous force.
“THUUUUNNNDDDDD! KRAAAASSSHHHHHH!”
The shockwave rocked through Sector Gamma, toppling what was left of the old market stalls.
Rai gritted his teeth. “So this is the siege...”
He raised his blade. The Trash Reaper vibrated violently, syncing with the constructs surrounding him. His system updated mid-battle:
[Skill Upgrade Unlocked – Node Construct Autonomy Level 1]
[Constructs can now act with limited independent AI within command parameters.]
Perfect.
He hurled his arm forward. Debris constructs sprang to life, swirling into autonomous formations. Spiked discs flew like saw blades—
“SLACK! SLACK! SLACK! SWOOOOOOSH! CRRAAASHHHHH!”
—slicing through the serpent’s advancing segments. Defensive barriers caught falling rubble, protecting civilians trapped beneath collapsed roofs.
But the serpent countered. Its tail lashed like a whip—
“WHOOOOSH! KRRRRAAAACKK! THUUUUUUMMMPPPPPHHH!”
—flattening half a block and scattering debris into dust.
Yuki gasped, clutching her chest as the serpent’s aura clashed with her energy barrier. Sparks of violet and green flared in the night sky. Her awakening surged. She screamed, her voice trembling under the weight of her gift:
“Rai... the rift—it’s calling to me. I can sense... something ancient!”
Her emerald glow intensified, lighting up the streets. She wasn’t just defending now; she was channeling energy directly into Rai’s constructs, doubling their sharpness and durability.
The lion-creature, weakened but still furious, lunged again. Rai moved like lightning, his blade carving an arc.
“SLASHHHHHHHH! KRRRRAAAASSHHHHH! THUUMMMMMPHHHH!”
The beast’s head fell, rolling across the broken stone before dissolving into corrupted ash.
The serpent roared in anger—
“SKREE!”
—its body writhing in madness.
Rai inhaled deeply. This wasn’t just about brute force anymore. The system required strategy. He expanded the Garbage Absorber’s radius to its maximum. Entire towers crumbled into streams of debris.
“CRASH! WHOOSH!”
Hundreds of tons of steel and concrete circled around him, swirling like a storm. The Trash Reaper glowed brighter, syncing with every particle.
The serpent struck again, but Rai answered with everything he had. His constructs launched forward, autonomous and relentless.
“SLACK! SLACK! SLASHHHH! BOOOOOMMM! THUUMMMMMPHHHHHH!”
Blades tore through, towers impaled, barriers held firm, and spikes rained down from above. The serpent shrieked, blood and corrupted energy spraying across the streets.
Yet, the rift pulsed.
Then he saw it—the figure from before. The ancient awakener entity. Its corrupted form shimmered on the edge of the rift, its voice booming through every corner of the slums:
“So... the Garbage Warrior rises. Your system was never meant for you. You tamper with fate, boy.”
Rai froze. The voice was not monstrous; it was human. It resonated in his bones, as if spoken directly into his soul.
The entity’s aura spread, empowering the serpent and summoning more creatures.
[System Notification – Rift Origin Entity: Communication Detected | Threat Escalation: Siege-Level Phase 2]
Rai’s heart raced. His mind swarmed with questions, but he pushed them aside. He couldn’t falter. The siege wasn’t over—it was just beginning.
Yuki gasped again, swaying slightly, her aura flaring as if being drawn toward the rift. Rai caught her with one arm, holding her close while still directing his constructs.
“Stay with me, Yuki. Don’t let it take you.”
Her eyes shone faint emerald, a tear rolling down her cheek. “Rai... I think I’m connected to it... maybe part of its origin...”
Rai’s chest tightened. His blade trembled in his grip. He couldn’t allow that possibility—not now. He forced himself to concentrate, swinging the Trash Reaper with all his strength.
“SLASHHH! THUMPPHH! KRASHH!”
The serpent screamed, its massive body crashing to the ground, shattering half the district. Dust filled the air, debris raining down everywhere.
And still, the siege continued.
