The sales office appeared to be managed by NPCs. However, all its processes could actually be handled through the system interface. Once customers finished reviewing property information or purchasing land, they could leave the sales office directly with contract in hand. Consequently, the long line shortened very quickly, and soon it was Li Ang's turn.

He and four programmers walked into the spacious and bright store, where a customer service dialog box from the sales office immediately popped up, asking what help he needed.

The four members of the Golden-armored Iron-cavalry seemed somewhat ill at ease. They hadn't planned to buy a house (and couldn't afford one anyway). They were mainly there on orders from their superiors to observe the situation. The actual task of buying property was assigned to their "Whale Song" colleagues, who had access to special funds and would use public money.

"Just in this short period, more than a hundred plots have been sold, all in good locations near the shopping mall, and all several plots connected!"

Geleluo Star, the somewhat pretentious youth, said with a fierce expression, "Are there really that many rich people? Damn it, why am I not rich? Would I be in this sorry state if I were wealthy?!"

"This set costs fifty thousand, this set costs one hundred thousand, this set costs two hundred thousand... The cheapest one-bedroom, thirty-square-meter unit also costs eight thousand..." Black Trojan stared, fixated on the virtual projections of the buildings. His eyes were latched onto the large price figures, and he seemed completely out of it.

Li Ang casually glanced over all the houses for sale in the sales office and reviewed the System regulations pertaining to it. He noticed a particular point: as the player base grew in the future, the Game Square's area would also gradually expand. This meant the amount of available land was not limited.

He thought it over carefully, casually turned off the virtual projection in his line of sight, and turned to walk towards the door.

Black Trojan snapped back to reality, turned, and asked, "Hey, Brother Li, weren't you going to buy a house?"

"No rush."

Li Ang stood still at the entrance of the sales office and said offhandedly, "Currently, the primary way for players to obtain Game Currency is still by completing tasks issued by the System. Even if someone directly sells supernatural materials to the mall, or forges materials into equipment to sell to the mall, they can only make a small profit at most due to the mall's greediness.

Therefore, the total amount of Game Currency circulating in the market is limited and maintains a fluctuating balance.

This Game Currency, if pooled together, could theoretically buy up all the currently available land, but it's too dispersed among the player base.

If the collective purchasing power of all consumer groups isn't enough to buy up all the available land, then property speculation is pointless. No one here can truly monopolize the land.

It's fine to buy land out of necessity, but if you're here to speculate, then just wait for the contract to become a dead weight in your hands."

After saying that, Li Ang bade farewell to the four members of Golden-armored Iron-cavalry and immediately logged out of the space, vanishing on the spot. He left behind the programmers, who looked perplexed, and the other players, whose expressions now varied—some had been excited about buying property, while others displayed a range of different emotions.

"What he said... seems to make some sense," a passing player wearing a T-Shaped Sponge Headgear remarked quietly to his companion after a pause. "Remember how the Global Occult Coalition has been promoting things?

They've consistently worked to stabilize the exchange rate between Game Currency and real-world currency. They encourage players to use real money for transactions and advise against using Game Coin to buy equipment and items directly from the mall. Game Coin spent this way is permanently removed from circulation and cannot be re-utilized.

Yet, some players always do this. Consequently, the total amount of Game Currency on the market grows slowly and maintains a fluctuating balance.

Speculating on property now might lead to a terrible loss..."

"But I saw that in addition to big organizations, many people were buying land before, weren't they?"

The player wearing a P-Shaped Sponge Headgear said weakly, "They can't all be paying the intelligence tax, can they?" 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"Maybe they're waiting for others to pay the intelligence tax?" the one in the T-Shaped Sponge Headgear mused, rubbing his chin. "There's a large number of plots on the outskirts of the Game Square, but the total number of plots closest to the mall is limited.

If we first secure the plots surrounding the mall and then hype them up to those further out, we'll have no trouble finding suckers to take them off our hands..."

Their discussion wasn't exactly quiet. Soon, all the players in line began whispering among themselves. Several of them looked particularly upset, glaring at the four programmers and gnashing their teeth.

They were likely shills for a property speculation group. At that moment, they were so furious with Li Ang that they were itching for revenge. They almost swarmed the programmers, intending to surround them and demand Li Ang's name—if it weren't for the NPC guards nearby.

Seeing the situation turning sour, the four members of Golden-armored Iron-cavalry promptly logged off. Consequently, many of those who had been in line to buy houses also backed out.

The next instant, Li Ang was back in his own living room.

The room's windows and door were tightly shut, the curtains drawn completely, and nothing seemed out of place.

Miss Chai, still in her Li Ang disguise, lay in a starfish pose on the couch, playing King's Glory with headphones on. When she saw Li Ang return, she put her index finger to her lips, signaling him to keep quiet.

"AHEM." Chaichai cleared her throat. While skillfully maneuvering Li Bai to dominate the battlefield, she spoke in a gentle voice, "You should remember this: I'm not asleep at this hour."

"EH?" A cute, sweet-sounding girl's voice came through the headphones. "Why should I remember that, silly?"

"To remember that at this hour, I'm not sleeping because I'm thinking of you."

Chaichai's expression softened, her eyes shone, and her voice became incredibly magnetic. Even Li Ang, standing in the living room, felt a bit uneasy—It's really strange to watch myself being so flirty.

"AWW. Why are you being like this?" the girl cooed playfully.

A smug look spread across Chaichai's face. While picking at her feet, she continued to spew cheesy pickup lines in Li Ang's voice.

"Do you know what my favorite color is? I love blue, because blue=because love you every day."

"I want to be the teddy bear by your bed, to defeat the dragons in your dreams for you."

"I'll try not to think of you for a hundred days. Today is the first day, and I've already failed."

Chaichai's cheesy pickup lines came one after another, making the cute girl on the other end of the phone giggle endlessly. All the while, she didn't miss a beat in her game, expertly trapping her opponents at their spawn point so they couldn't escape. This continued until Li Ang walked over with a dark expression on his face. Only then did she reluctantly tell the girl they'd play together again tomorrow, before decisively destroying the enemy's base and quitting the game.

"Here, take it back." Chaichai sat up from the sofa, tossed the phone to Li Ang, and stood with her hands on her hips, looking quite proud. "So? Mission accomplished perfectly, right?"

"You... what did you do..."

"House-sitting," Chaichai said matter-of-factly. "I was originally playing King's Glory by myself, you know, to establish your alibi.

Then, a friend from your game invited me, so I just played along. Hey, who is this girl, anyway? Don't tell me you've been secretly flirting with her behind Shan Shan's back? Her voice sounds pretty cute. Not bad."

Li Ang glanced at the game log and said to Chaichai without any expression, "That's my landlady, thirty-nine years old, female, single."
