Game World's Awakening-Chapter 27: Looking for him
Chapter 27: Looking for him
A while ago.
After waking up, resting, and waiting for the optimal moment, Elliot went to the Association and bought another pass to the E-Rank dungeon. Although they hindered him because of his speed, they allowed him to enter when he showed his second summon. Anyway, he had already emerged victorious from there once. And as he suspected, the dungeon did not present many problems for him.
He had become so much stronger and had improved his use of energy to the point that he was able to kill the Boss single-handedly, although this time, it didn't have a mirror and didn't let go of the item it was carrying. But that was the least of his problems; he just wanted to see if he could get through the dungeon.
After selling the bodies to the Association, he went to the martial arts center.
But then a problem arose.
"Excuse me, you are not authorized to enter this establishment."
Four people, including two awakened ones, stopped him at the door.
Elliot thought it was an Entry Card inspection, so he took out his card and showed it to them.
"This is my card; I'm already registered." He tried to enter again, but he was stopped again.
"Like I said, you can't come in here." One of the awake ones held him back and pushed him hard, wanting to knock him to the ground, but he could only move him a few steps backwards.
This made Elliot frown.
"What's going on? I paid the monthly fee four days ago. How come I can't come in?"
The man who had pushed him frowned. 'Why did it feel like I was trying to move a tree?' He looked at his hands in shock.
His strength stat wasn't the highest of his stats, but he still had 12 points; he was powerful. How could it be that he didn't manage to push him with that force? Didn't they say this guy was a useless misfit?
'Surely he's acting tough and has good balance. Forget it; it doesn't matter.'
He looked at Elliot and shrugged. "I'm sorry, but..." Before he could finish, he was interrupted.
"Elliot Clark, registered 4 days ago... In fact, you can't come in. Please go back, you're blocking the way for our lads who come here to train."
Elliot turned around and frowned at the face behind him.
"Leader!" The four in front of Elliot exclaimed and bowed as a sign of respect.
'He's the Leader of the Martial Arts Center... If I remember correctly, he's a powerful Awakened One registered under the Hawk's Fury Guild... He should be a Master.' The pressure this guy was putting on him made him almost double over, but he endured it.
He was one of the Masters of the City, of whom there were few. Hawk's Fury only has two, and this is one of them.
Elliot bit his tongue a little to be able to bear the pressure and stared at him.
"Why can't I enter? I clearly paid the monthly subscription recently. You can check..."
"No, you can't. The establishment's new policy is that only registered Awakened Ones may enter." The leader took a few steps forward and grabbed Elliot by the arm, pulling him forcefully away. "A Misfit One must not taint the path of our Awakened Ones. Here's your refund."
The leader threw a few hundred dollars at him, hitting Elliot in the chest and then scattering in all directions.
Elliot frowned at the sight of this. 'The Clarks, eh. Those damn bastards.' He immediately realized that it was those bastards digging their claws into everything. They had always done that when it came to him, which was why he had worked for two years as a Misfit, as it was the only place where those guys didn't bother to meddle.
He looked at his arm. 'How powerful. The guy from before could barely push me a few steps back because he took me by surprise, but this guy... Even when I put all my strength into holding on, he could move me like I was a stick.'
He couldn't beat him even if he gave his life, so in the end, he gave them a contemplative look and just left.
Enduring humiliation was his specialty, after all.
'Sooner or later, I will take my revenge. For now, I have to be patient.'
About 30 minutes after he left, John Clark appeared next to Alexander Clark.
The center's leader was nowhere to be seen, but as soon as they appeared, one of the four quickly approached the two.
"Sir, he left 30 minutes ago."
"He left? Where to?"
"I don't know. Maybe to the gym."
Alexander frowned. 'Tsk, that bastard. Who interfered to make him run away so quickly?'
Alexander immediately looked at his son and nodded. Without wasting any time, they ran away from the place in the direction of the gymnasium.
But when they arrived...
"He left about 15 minutes ago, sir. He went in that direction; maybe you can catch him."
"Shit, that damn bastard."
Father and son had to run again in some direction, but after walking for a long time, they found nothing, only one of his subordinates patrolling the city.
"S-sir?"

Alexander quickly approached him and asked: "Elliot Clark, have you seen him around?"
"Elliot? N-no sir. Shouldn't he be in his room? He doesn't usually go out on days when he doesn't have work, and lately, there's no work for them."
'Room?' He looked towards the Misfit's area and frowned.
'I don't want to get dirty going into that place...'
He looked at his son and smiled, finding a scapegoat to use.
"Go there."
"F-Father?! Why do I have to go and look for that bastard in a place like that?! They'll talk about me!"
"Did I speak in another language?" He growled, making John suddenly shudder and go quiet.
'Dad is acting strange... What the hell is going on? Even if he awakens, isn't he still a talentless idiot?' Although he wanted to express his thoughts, his father's dangerous eyes told him that the conversation was over.
He was forced to go and check.
Meanwhile, Alexander waited at a nearby café, looking thoughtful the whole time.
About 30 minutes later, John returned.
"Father, as I heard it, he recently submitted a resignation letter. After that, no one knows where he is living."
Alexander nodded softly. 'He must be living in one of the other guild areas...'
"Anything else?"
"Nothing else, Father."
"Shit." He squeezed his hand, and the glass broke, causing hot coffee to spray over his hand. It wasn't a problem for him, though.
Someone quickly came to clean up the coffee, but John dismissed them and started to do it himself.
"Father, you've been acting strange for a while now. What's going on? His awakening was a possibility, but he's still a guy with no talent. What's the problem with him awakening? Eventually, I'll kill him. We do no need to move around so much just to look for him."
Alexander shook his head. "No, you don't understand. He shouldn't have had a chance to awaken."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Confused, John looked up to see him.
How is it that someone who did not fail to awaken could not have the possibility of awakening?
But Alexander could not tell him.
"We're leaving." He got up and left without looking back.
'That guy's son shouldn't have a chance to awaken. I have to kill him.' His dangerous eyes filled with murderous intent, and his mind began to plan, ignoring his son's words.
