Game World's Awakening-Chapter 197: Users of Ancient Elven Magic
A powerful ancient magic emerged from behind the group that had been waiting patiently for them.
This magic looked like the enormous mouth of some beast made of fire and roared toward them, destroying trees in the process.
"Don't stop!" Elliot shouted, summoning his sword and rushing forward, straight toward where the magic was coming from.
It seemed as if he wanted to face it head-on. Was that wise?
But his intention was different. He stood in front of the magic, his enemies were on either side, and his companions were behind him.
It was a good time to use his summons.
The first to appear was the basilisk, with a loud roar toward the incoming magic, it activated its own class.
[Basilisk Class: Warrior of a Thousand Battles has been activated.]
[He has been blessed with 20 points in his two main stats. Strength and Stamina raised to 70 points.]
[First part of Magnetic Presence activated: rivals will attack him systematically.]
[Energy Armor fully activated.]
[The Warrior of a Thousand Battles drew his claws. It's time for even Titanium to tremble with fear.]
A series of messages appeared before Elliot's eyes, just as the basilisk attacked the magic above him.
Although the magic was quite powerful, it was powerless against the basilisk's claws, which were immediately drawn to attack it.
This allowed Elliot to quickly move in and strike the one who had cast the magic in the first place: Dark Cloak.
CLANK*
A clanging sound was heard as Elliot's sword struck Dark Cloak's body.
There was no blood. There was nothing.
He had struck him in the chest, but...
Didn't it hurt him?
In shock, Elliot had to jump to the side to dodge the residual damage from a strange spell that exploded next to him.
It wasn't aimed at him, but it was still dangerous. He jumped back several times, allowing Andrew and Jenna to take his place, just as the basilisk lunged at its enemies.
Falling behind, the Thoran Twins quickly approached him, staring at the man behind them.
"It's him," they said, in shock.
"Him?" Elliot looked at them, a little puzzled. Who were they referring to?
"Yes. It's that bastard with skin as hard as stone! He's only 20 years old? Shit..."
Elliot was stunned and looked once more at Dark Cloak. He had recovered and was casting more spells, so he had to act, summoning his mage to counter those annoying spells.
"You say stone, but..." Elliot looked at his sword. "That's more like a really tough metal, with a lot of mass."
"Metal?" The twins frowned. "His body has become stronger. Before, it was solid rock. He's more dangerous now," they said.
It had been two years since they had seen him, so it was normal.
Now, the thing was, "strengthened" wasn't the right word.
That damn bastard was tougher than the Basilisk!
How the hell were they going to beat him?
'Wait. Everything has its weakness. And ancient elven magic is no exception, I don't think,' he thought.
If his body wasn't his weakness... then it must be his head.
"Leave it to me. I'll have you help Jenna with Ruin and Sir Ruined. Those guys, I'm afraid, aren't simple."
Just as the magic exploded above them, Elliot shot off, running at full speed across the ground.
He passed by where Ruin, who turned out to be a physical mage, was fighting Jenna.
Just then, Ruin smiled.
"I've got you," he said. He stepped back strangely, somehow dodging Jenna's sword.
Even she was stunned by this. What just happened?
'Did it slow down?' she thought.
"Ruined Field of the King of Ruin!" he roared.
At the same time, on the other side of the battle...
Sir Ruined did something similar. He punched Andrew in the chest. His punch didn't seem that strong, but... why did it hurt so much?
Andrew was winded for a brief moment and had to take a step back, holding back the blow he was about to deliver.
Sir Ruined then took three steps back, not taking advantage of the advantage he had gained. Instead, he roared, "Expansion of the King of Ruin!"
At that moment, two strange field-like magics spread throughout the surrounding area. Although there were two, they immediately acted as one.
One magic enhanced the other and vice versa.
The field was astonishingly large. It covered a good part of the mountain and spread throughout much of the forest where they were.
It was not just any magic.
As soon as it appeared, the nearby trees seemed to visibly wither, as if something were drying them out. The green leaves suddenly changed color quickly, turning yellow and slowly drying out until they turned brown.
The same thing happened to many nearby plants.
Although the whole process took a few dozen seconds to take effect, it left everyone in shock.
Especially Elliot, who felt... that his own speed was being reduced.
-
Outside the arena, watching from afar. The Cats and Zargo were accompanying the Angelic Wave staff that day.
Master Cat immediately stood up as soon as he saw this. "Ancient Elven Magic of the King of Ruin!" he exclaimed in shock.
Even though they couldn't hear what they were saying, he knew it very well.
Zargo's elder knew it too, but Steward only knew it by name.
Steward looked at Master Cat, curious. "It's the one that comes from the Ruined City, right?" he asked.
Master Cat nodded. "It is said that this was the magic used by that mythical elf to confront Ancestor Lee," he said and looked at Zargo's man. "You once fought a high-level elf who used it, right?" he asked.
"Twice, I'm surprised you know that," said the muscular but elderly-looking man, Martin Moore.
"Cats know many things. Since you fought them and know their power, do you think the boys can win?" he asked.
Martin sighed.
"I'm afraid winning will be very difficult. Did you see the guy Elliot hit at the beginning?"
"Yes. He didn't do anything to him," replied the Cat Master.
"That's right," Martin smiled. "I know that boy because I once fought his father. He's special in this regard. From what I've heard, he inherits the Ancient Magical Arts of the Adamantium Body. Although he shouldn't have reached that level, do you think there's any way to defeat him using conventional methods? His neck should already be strong enough that no metal can pierce it."
Steward frowned when he heard this. He had heard about the Adamantium Body, a mythical ancient magic that transforms your body into something as hard as adamantium.
'The problem with it is that it will kill you, and you will only be able to enjoy that body for a short time... but it will still be a long time before that happens.'
"On the other hand..." Martin looked at Ruin and Sir Ruined. "Those two, although their names don't really indicate their identity, I think I know something about that ability. Ruin should be some heir to the Magic of the King of Ruin, a secondary heir, but just as talented as his primary heir."
"Is Sir Ruined his primary heir?" asked Master Cat.
"Yes." Martin nodded. "The field that Ruin activated is used by those who do not have ruin in their bodies. The expansion that Sir Ruined used is used by those who have ruin in their bodies. That is, the primary heirs."
"The ruin in his body?" One of Zargo's young men looked at his master. "What is that?" he asked.
"Hehe, that means that Sir Ruined's body is, in fact, ruined. The ruin eats away at him day and night. They devote themselves body and soul to that kind of nefarious magic. Many of them receive the curse of ruin or magic in their bodies themselves," he said.
And Master Cat then completed his words:
"Dark Mantle has the curse of the Adamantium Body. Sir Ruined should have the curse of the Ruined Body... That is truly dangerous," he said, looking at Steward, who was silent.
"Do you think your boys can do anything about that?" he asked.
Steward didn't have to think about it much.
"If it were another guild, I would say my boys can't win, I might even tell them to give up. But this time, it's the Clarks."
"Do you think they'll make a mistake just because they're Clark?" Martin asked, puzzled.
"Haha, they already made that mistake, and the fruits of that mistake are now on the field. Believe me, that kid won't pass up such a perfect opportunity for revenge. So I can assure you, in answer to your previous question, that we will win."
He was so sure that there was not a hint of doubt in his words and statements.
Elliot's thirst for revenge was more latent than ever. Lately, he has hardly been able to sleep well, solely because he is preparing his revenge.
Although he didn't usually show it before him, his actions revealed how much hatred was hidden in his heart. Perhaps she had recently learned to hide it, but hadn't erased it.
And this was the best moment to let that hatred come to the surface.
Perhaps... it would be the first battle in which all his tricks would be used.
Even Steward was curious to know: What would he do?
