Game World's Awakening-Chapter 194: The Semifinals begin.
Thanks to Elliot's hard training with his teammates all week, he had gained another 8 stat points by the day of the match.
He didn't hesitate to increase them, bringing his strength to 77, resistance to 72, and agility to 64.
Another thing he did that week was complete a series of moves that brought good rewards. The fall of the Clarks was approaching, but these rewards would be completed in a few days.
Friday, February 7, dawned.
It was the semifinal phase.
Angelic Wave vs. Zargo Academy: an outdoor fight, outside the routine combat arenas.
On the other side would be the Clark Group vs. the House of Fire, which had made an amazing advance. Also outdoors.
The forest where it would take place was immense and located on the slopes of a mountain. Only one type of grandstand was set up from a distance, with many broadcast cameras throughout the forest.
Those who wanted to enjoy a different kind of experience could do so by riding flying boats that hovered above the forest, giving them a view from above.
It being a semifinal, no one spoke prematurely. Even the bets were complicated. The true fans of both teams continued to bet on those they supported, but the rest of the people were unsure who to bet on.
Both were good and had proven it. In addition, the strategies to be used here were different. It was a completely different preparation.
In the end, it was thanks to Elliot that the bets leaned toward Angelic Wave.
In an open field, being the majority, they could surely win.
After a whistle sounded across the field once again, the two teams, which were quite far apart, began to move.
Neither spoke to the other. Each had their plans ready, so they simply moved forward...
Well, Elliot and company waited while he sent his summons to scout the terrain.
Neither team knew the other's starting position, so they had to be very careful when investigating a forest like this.
At least the Academy students couldn't do it like Elliot, so they moved as a group in any direction, since they couldn't split up to avoid getting lost.
Luckily, there was no time limit.
Meanwhile, Elliot could simply send all his summonses everywhere and easily find them.
It was an amazing advantage that few had realized existed.
"Aish... if I had known this, I would have bet on Angelic..."
"Me too..." Some people watching from different places lamented.
Meanwhile, the fans...
"Haha, we true fans always take into account the power of our Lord of the Field. There's no way we can lose with him on the team." They started throwing things at Zargo's fans, who were furious.
"Who cares about that bastard?! They barely have a slight advantage; it's nothing special!"
"We have strength, and that's all we need. To hell with their trashy tactics!"
At that, Angelic's fans shrugged. "Tsk, it's okay to accept that you're inferior. Understand, with Jenna, Elliot, and his right-hand man, Andrew, plus the Twins, do you really think you have a chance?"
"They are legends in our city. The difference between us and your little academy is too great!"
This sparked another series of heated discussions on both sides on social media and among those who had managed to get tickets.
While they were at it, Elliot studied each possible direction with different invocations and soon opened his eyes.
"To the west, it looks like they want to surround the forest completely, so they're moving in a group and heading south, possibly starting in the north," he said, finally getting up.
"Do we wait for them or attack?" asked the twins.
"We attack, of course." He smiled and started running. "Let's hurry. I feel this battle will be complicated, and they have greater endurance than we do, as their heavyweights are specialized in that. So we can't drag it out."
With that, everyone started running in the direction they were heading.
For Zargo fans, this made their hearts race, as they hoped their team would realize it in time. Meanwhile, for Angelic fans, this was great to see.
Everyone stood up and clapped with all their might, as if to say to Elliot: Congratulations.
It didn't take them long to reach where they were, and as soon as they did, Andrew jumped high above the trees, carrying the huge hammer in his hand.
'Did the sun suddenly cloud over?' thought the members of Zargo, but when they looked up, they were forced to stop. They immediately took out their shields.
"Behind us!" The quick reaction of both tanks saved the two Mages on the team.
CLANK*
The loud sound of the impact between the enormous hammer and two powerful shields echoed throughout the area, but at that moment, Elliot and Jenna appeared behind the swordsman from the other team and struck him.
He also acted quickly to defend himself, proving he was strong and not just a rich kid. His combat experience allowed him to withstand Elliot and Jenna's initial attacks, though he quickly began to sustain injuries.
While that was happening, the Thoran Twins entered the fray, being the last but most important.
They quickly rushed toward the two rival Mages, wanting to catch them off guard.
They were an Illusion Mage and a Soul Mage, both with rich battle experience.
Neither of them panicked. Each cast their spells.
"Pillar of Fire!" roared the Soul Mage, causing a pillar of fire to emerge from the ground and pierce one of the Twins, forcing him to retreat.
At the same time, the Illusionist rushed forward... running strangely. He moved like a deer, but more agile and faster. He quickly reached the front of the second twin, who had also been affected by his companion's pillar of fire.
Then he delivered a strange blow to the stomach: "Illusionary Strike: Dream Big."
When his hand touched the stomach, the illusion activated. But he immediately realized that something was wrong and jumped back.
Suddenly, in front of him was one of those strange summonings he had studied so much before, staring at him with a look of madness.
'What the hell is that look?' The Illusory Mage took several steps back when he realized the werewolf-like summon was lunging at him, wielding a sword with many spikes.
At the same time, the Thoran Twin jumped from behind, appearing unharmed.
Naturally, his illusion had not hit him. This illusion only works on humans or living races.
'So, summons of this guy are not alive, then?' he thought. It seemed he had found his counter here, but it was nothing to be alarmed about.
Just then, the Soul Mage roared, "Fire Serpent!"
A huge serpent was created from his hand and lunged toward the twin who was about to strike his companion. This powerful, unexpected, and swift attack was still struck and split in two by the twin, so he smiled.
"It's not enough!" he roared and lunged at the ground where the Illusory Mage was standing.
But he failed to grab him.
The mage leaped into the air and spread his hands wide.
"Illusory Dawn Flower!" he roared, activating one of his most powerful spells.
A huge flower, resembling a lotus flower, appeared above them like a strange sun at dawn.
At that moment, a huge 100-square-meter field was created above them.
Then, the Soul Magician's snake recovered. It rose to the top and then swooped down fiercely, striking both twins at the same time, leaving them helpless.
They had been caught in a very powerful illusion.
Even so, the strength of those two was terrifying. Soon, despite being wounded, they began to swing their swords and strike them against the ground, shaking the illusory domain that the magician had cast.
"What the hell are these guys?" The Illusory Mage tried to resist as much as possible, but just then...
"Watch out!" One of his tanks shouted at them.
At that moment, the body of the swordsman who had been fighting Elliot and Jenna flew through the air and hit the Illusory Mage, who was still floating.
The Soul Mage immediately tried to do something to attack, but suddenly...
He felt something blocking his view.
He looked back and trembled for a moment.
"ROOOOOOOARRR!" The roar of a Basilisk armed from head to toe momentarily stunned him. The soul mage could only watch as a Basilisk grabbed him with its mouth and threw him hundreds of meters away.
He was impaled on a distant tree.
At the same time, the basilisk used its enormous tail to knock the illusionary mage and his swordsman companion to the ground, finally breaking the illusion's hold.
This allowed both Twins to attack head-on with their abilities. A magical, strangely invisible attack suddenly struck the two on the ground and lifted them into the air, before another struck them again, pushing them out of reach.
At that moment...
Another figure flew out, bleeding and holding a hammer.
"Andrew?!" Elliot immediately turned around to see what had happened. He was overwhelmed by both tanks.
Then…
