Game Invasion Era: Rise from Binding the Goblin King!-Chapter 155: The Leader of Dark Wolfguard, Anderson’s Secret Move
"Let’s go back." After a long time, Sean was the first to break the silence. He pointed his staff into the air, and everything around them quickly reversed. The group was back in the open hall, with a bunch of floating crystal balls above their heads.
George stayed silent, looking at the floating crystal balls, deep in thought.
Sean spoke. "You just saw it. That kind of strength is way beyond us. But if we take over a big piece of land and hide from the monsters, we might be able to escape their attacks. In the end, we can still blend into the Chaos Battlefield. Working together, it’s not impossible to set up a base here."
"Hmph!"
George let out a soft snort. He would never give up Earth and live like a coward. He couldn’t accept it.
He thought about the world Obsidian Wraith came from. All the living things there had sacrificed themselves to protect the last bit of Fundamental Power.
There had to be others fighting. Not just one world like Obsidian Wraith’s.
If they failed, Earth would be like that too. It would be destroyed with the sacrifice of many lives, giving future fighters a chance to fight back.
"I came here for something else," George interrupted Sean, who was about to continue convincing him. "Do you know the exact reason for the change in Dark Wolfguard?"
Sean thought for a moment, then said, "A few days ago, a huge Stone Tablet fell into Dark Wolfguard’s territory. After that, there was a rebellion. I think the change in Dark Wolfguard is connected to that Stone Tablet. But we’re still investigating what exactly happened."
Stone Tablet? Not Bloodmist?
George was confused. He asked, "Where is the Dark Wolfguard’s territory? I’ll go check it out myself."
"I can send someone to take you there," Sean said. He paused, then asked, "What about our deal?"
"Talk about it when I get back," George said. He wasn’t ready to team up with the Half-Orcs. He wanted to unite them against the demon race.
But these guys were too scared of the demons. They wouldn’t agree easily. He’d have to think of another way.
"Okay. I’ll send someone to take you to Dark Wolfguard’s territory." Sean stopped talking and called over a Half-Orc. The man led the two of them to the Dark Wolfguard’s area.
George had already gotten a rough idea of the Chaos Battlefield.
There were countless races here, all with their own territories. But the fighting never stopped. Taking land, stealing resources...
George used his contract to check on what was happening with Constantine and Melina. It was just as chaotic, but the two of them were strong and had been recruited by many factions. They had already made their way in.
"Adventurer, cross that hill ahead. That’s where the Dark Wolfguard territory is. There are too many Dark Wolfguard here. I won’t come with you. Be careful," the Half-Orc said, stopping and pointing to a small hill in the distance.
The number of Dark Wolfguard had clearly increased. Besides them, there were almost no other creatures around.
George nodded and set off with Obsidian Wraith toward the hill.
Howl!
Loud wolf howls echoed around them. Packs of Dark Wolfguard suddenly appeared, rushing toward the two of them.
George didn’t care. He killed them easily.
Obsidian Wraith, on the other hand, was the one cleaning up the battlefield, collecting Dark Essence.
The two reached the top of the hill. The view opened up to a vast plain, but the sky was still gray and dark.
In the distance, they could barely see a huge Stone Tablet standing tall.
"Master, is that the Stone Tablet Sean was talking about? It’s huge," Obsidian Wraith said, surprised.
George was also a bit shocked. He said, "Let’s go check it out."
This plain was already the territory of the Dark Wolfguard. There were a lot of them here.
When the two arrived, the Dark Wolfguard immediately noticed them. More and more Dark Wolfguard came out from around them, roaring and rushing forward to attack.
George didn’t feel like talking. He just started killing.
All the Dark Wolfguard here were level 75 or higher. Their stages were all S tier or SS tier. They were strong and not to be taken lightly.
But they were still no match for George.
Cries of pain echoed around. George’s attacks were simple and straightforward. His fists flew fast, and almost no Dark Wolfguard could survive even one hit.
"Master, slow down a bit. I can’t keep up with you," Obsidian Wraith complained.
George was killing too fast. He couldn’t clean up the battlefield.
And there were too many Dark Wolfguard here. Their strength was terrifying. He wasn’t strong enough to fight them alone, so he had to stay close to George.
"Take the Dark Wolfguard bodies first. We’ll sort them out later."
George said. He hadn’t expected so many Dark Wolfguard here. If he had known, he would have brought the Half-Orcs to help clean up the battlefield. It would have also shown his strength.
"Stop!"
Suddenly, a loud roar rang out. A big black shadow came running fast from afar. It was a much bigger Dark Wolfguard.
A 90-level boss. Its stage was SSS tier.
George saw the stats of the Dark Wolfguard and stopped attacking. Obsidian Wraith became alert and quickly hid behind him.
"Adventurer, we Dark Wolfguard have no grudge with you, right? Why are you killing my people?" The Dark Wolfguard spoke in human language, staring coldly at George with fear in its eyes.
This human was too terrifying. It didn’t want to come out at first. But if this kept going, the whole Dark Wolfguard clan might be wiped out.
George pointed at the huge Stone Tablet in the distance and said, "I came here for this."
The Dark Wolfguard leader’s eyes flashed with a fierce look, but he held back. He asked cautiously, "Are you with that human?"
"Anderson?" George thought of Anderson first.
"Yes, that’s him," the Dark Wolfguard leader nodded, clearly relieved.
But George’s next words made his heart jump to his throat.
"I’m not with him. He’s already dead by my hand. Tell me what this Stone Tablet does. Maybe I’ll spare your life." George warned coldly.
"What?" The Dark Wolfguard leader took a step back. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Howl!
The surrounding Dark Wolfguard slowly moved in, filled with killing intent.
"Stubborn!" George didn’t want to waste time. He directly charged at the Dark Wolfguard leader.
"Die!"
The Dark Wolfguard leader was angry. It roared and fought with George.
Pound, pound!
The sound of heavy hits echoed around.
The Dark Wolfguard leader couldn’t fight back at all. It flew around like a sandbag.
The other Dark Wolfguard, who had looked fierce, were now scared. They stopped and didn’t dare to move forward.
Obsidian Wraith used the chance to hide in the distance. His strength was too weak. He couldn’t fight these Dark Wolfguard.
Pound!
Dust flew everywhere as the Dark Wolfguard leader fell hard to the ground. It let out a painful cry and blood came from its mouth. It couldn’t get up for a moment.
"Give you one more chance. What does this Stone Tablet do? Is it used to destroy Earth?" George stepped closer, his voice cold.
"Destroy Earth?" The Dark Wolfguard shook its head quickly. It was angry but had no choice but to be honest. "This Stone Tablet is special, but it has nothing to do with destroying Earth. It holds powerful dark power. It can increase our strength. That’s all."
"Really?" George was doubtful.
"Really," the Dark Wolfguard leader said firmly. "And besides, this is the Chaos Battlefield. We don’t have the power to destroy Earth."
George could tell the guy wasn’t lying. His curiosity grew. "Then why would Anderson help you so much?"
"Because of himself," the Dark Wolfguard explained. "Earth has been noticed by the demon race. Its fate is already set. Eventually, it will be swallowed by the Chaos Battlefield. We made a deal. He helps the Dark Wolfguard grow stronger, and in return, he gets a place to stand in the Chaos Battlefield."
These Dark Wolfguard had goals that looked a lot like the Half-Orcs.
But if this wasn’t Anderson’s secret move, then what was his real plan?
Was it just this guy trying to scare me before he died?
"Do you know Bloodmist?" George asked again. He was sure Anderson was hiding something.
"Yeah," the Dark Wolfguard nodded. "It’s evil. It makes demons stronger. It can also turn other living things into demons. The world I came from was destroyed before Bloodmist showed up."
"Does every world get Bloodmist before it dies?" George asked, still doubtful. He hadn’t seen Bloodmist in the vision of the Half-Orc world’s destruction.
The Dark Wolfguard leader explained, "Yes. And Bloodmist appears in the Abyss. The demon race uses its power to break space and attack the worlds they want to destroy."
Bloodmist in the Abyss?
That meant Anderson’s secret move was still in the Abyss. But where exactly?
The Abyss was huge, and a lot of places there were too dangerous for humans. Searching blindly would get nothing.
George looked back at the Dark Wolfguard leader and asked, "Can you come to Earth?"
"Master, you’re overthinking it," he said with a bitter smile. "If we could go to other worlds, would we stay in the Chaos Battlefield?"
That made sense.
George looked around at the barren, harsh environment. It wasn’t a place anyone could live in.
He had planned to join forces with the Chaos Battlefield’s factions to fight the demon race. But now it looked impossible.
The demon race wouldn’t come to the Chaos Battlefield.
George didn’t want to give up. He asked again, "The Abyss can connect to Earth. Can’t you do it here?"
The Dark Wolfguard leader was surprised for a moment. Then he thought for a while before saying, "Theoretically, yes. But only the demon race knows how to use Bloodmist’s power. Oh, and the Felborn probably know too. They once worked with the demon race to attack different worlds. But they broke up for some reason later."
The Felborn?
George thought back to the College Entrance Exam test in the Underworld. He had met Wayne, the Bloodthirsty Felborn King.
At that time, Demon King Blake had arrived. George was in big trouble, and it was Wayne who saved him.
He wondered what had happened to that guy. Was he still alive?
