Chapter 189: SLAP

[Ragon City - Sealed Alleyway]

The purple runic barrier cast a sickly glow over the alley. The Cultists were still reeling from the revelation that their "helpless" target was a dual-bloodline monster, but the true apex predator had just revealed herself.

"Oh? You have the guts to bully the Imperial Princess, aren’t you guys scared?" Mirabella asked, walking towards them. Her footsteps made no sound against the cobblestones, an unsettling testament to her Agility stats.

"You?!! What are you going to do? We are just ordinary mercenaries! I know we made a mistake, but you aren’t planning on killing us, right??!" The leader stammered, his bravado entirely shattered.

’Shit!! This girl is Lv330, if a Lv250 double bloodline is this strong, how strong will this one be? I didn’t even sense her presence until she spoke.’ He thought, his teeth clenched in sheer terror.

’I mustn’t reveal our identity! Shit! Why did we hit a rock this time, we have always succeeded.’

Delphine exhaled, and in an instant, the suffocating, dual-layered killing intent that had just beheaded a man simply vanished. She smoothed her white blouse, adopting the haughty, untouchable aura of royalty once more.

"Please save us the lies, you four are members of devil cult, do you think we are that foolish? Look at the cloak you’re putting on, it’s screaming evil!" Delphine snapped, pointing a regal finger at the leader, the killing intent she emanated some seconds ago was completely gone.

’This princess, I didn’t know her well in my past life, but her deeds were all legendary... Having the ability to change her temperament this well, she is dangerous.’ Mirabella thought, staring at Delphine, then at the four trembling Cultists. To flip a switch between a ruthless killer and an indignant royal showed a level of psychological control that demanded respect.

But Mirabella had no time for interrogations. In Galaxy Fall, dead enemies meant immediate rewards.

"Get rid of them, Cupcake, we still have more members to kill." Mirabella snapped her fingers, tapping into her soul sea.

A massive summoning circle erupted on the ground. From the blue light, a ten meters tall winged tiger appeared in front of the five men, staring down at them with terrifying, primordial bloodlust. The beast’s aura was suffocating, its fur crackling with untamed lightning energy.

"What the hell is this?!!"

The man was shocked, watching Cupcake’s massive paw, as it moved towards them with lightning appeared. The air pressure alone from the descending strike cracked the alley walls.

BAM!!!!!!

Delphine turned her head to the wall, watching as the four men slammed heavily on the wall, turning into paste, leaving only a cratered wall and a smear of crimson where the Cultists had stood.

’Such attack force?’ She turned to the gigantic tiger before her, her mind struggling to calculate its damage output. ’Not only Mirabella, even her cat, they are both dangerous.’ She thought, swallowing hard.

A small, disappointing chime echoed in Mirabella’s interface.

"Come on Delphine, these fools didn’t even give enough Experience points... Let’s hunt more, maybe we can level up one time before sunrise." Mirabella turned to the illusion, watching as it shattered into pieces like broken glass, revealing the bustling, ignorant street of Ragon City once more. Grinding levels was the only way to close the gap between her and the First Lord.

"Still Sunrise?! Does that mean we won’t sleep?" Delphine asked in shock, rushing after Mirabella as she stepped out of the alley shadows.

"What can we do? Lord Hayatobi gave the order." Mirabella said, entering the street. With a thought, she willed Cupcake to scale down, the massive beast shifting back into a manageable size.

Delphine sighed, the adrenaline fading to leave behind a heavy exhaustion, following lazily behind her: "When will I get to see Xavier now?" She muttered.

"Aren’t you worried?" Mirabella asked, not looking back at her, just silently walking down the street, Cupcake sitting on her shoulder. The small, winged cat purred, a stark contrast to the violence it had just committed.

"Worried? You mean about what happened in the Duke’s mansion?" Delphine got serious, brushing past a few drunk citizens, rushing to walk beside Mirabella.

"I trust Xavier, He is innocent... I don’t know about his father though." She whispered in a low voice, looking around to ensure no spies were listening.

"If the Advisor is the culprit, you know your father will wipe out the whole family, including Xavier, right?" Mirabella asked. The Dragon Empire’s laws were absolute. Treason meant eradication down to the last blood relative to prevent future vengeance.

"I will do anything in my powers to help him!! As long Xavier is innocent, I will stand and protect him!" She yelled with fierce determination, drawing a few odd looks from passersby, and turned to Mirabella’s side profile:

"Will you help me?"

Mirabella paused, the neon glow of a nearby inn illuminating her blue hair, and turned to her face: "Why would I do that?" She asked, her tone pragmatic and cold. Throwing herself against the Emperor’s wrath for a boy she barely knew wasn’t mathematically sound.

"Um... Isn’t there something I can give you for your help?" Delphine asked, staring at Mirabella, who simply shook her head and continued walking down the dirt-packed road.

"If I help you, I will also be marked a traitor, I don’t know how your father is thinking." She said.

’Truthfully, I know exactly how he is thinking.’ Mirabella thought Inwardly. Her regressor memories painted a very clear, bloody picture of the Emperor’s ruthless countermeasures.

"What... What about I give you the Flameheart Bell?" Delphine whispered, her word freezing Mirabella in place.

The ambient noise of the street seemed to vanish.

"The Flameheart Bell? That is a god class artifact, I don’t even have any artifact of such class." Mirabella said, staring at Delphine over her shoulder, her composure cracking for the first time tonight.

’I have some god rank skills, and Adira, whose class is unknown. But I truly don’t have any god class artifact. An item of that tier could bend the very rules of Galaxy Fall.’

"Yes Flameheart Bell is the Dragon empire treasure, which is hidden deep in the castle... If you help me, I will give you this bell." Delphine pleaded, completely oblivious to the sheer madness of what she was offering. Offering a national treasure to anyone was the definition of high treason.

Mirabella walked towards her, closing the distance in a flash of Agility, and without hesitation, she slapped Delphine.

SLAP!

"...?!"

The slap echoed all over the street, sharp and stinging, stunning Delphine and all the people walking in the street. The bustling crowd stopped dead in their tracks, staring at the girl in black who had just struck her companion. Delphine was so stunned, the red mark blossoming on her pale cheek, she was utterly speechless, not knowing what to say or do.
