Galaxy Fall: All My Skills Are Maxed-Chapter 108: New Abilities
"Huh?"
The two elite students were genuinely confused. They moved their gaze from Hayatobi’s triumphant smirk back to the glowing artifacts.
"Wait, aren’t those...?" Mirabella was stunned. Under the guise of simple surprise, she quickly commanded the System to run a deep diagnostic scan on the scrolls again.
{System Notification}
{Item Status: Scrolls are completely pure. All malicious intent and parasitic impurities have been forcefully removed.}
’Removed...’ She stared at Hayatobi, a new layer of respect and wariness settling over her. ’He actually purged a hidden, high-tier curse overnight. Just how many things is this old man hiding behind that boisterous attitude?’
"Yep, these are the exact same scrolls given to us by that old hag Nadia," Hayatobi confirmed, his voice laced with grim satisfaction. "Anyway, they’re for you two. Consider them a vanguard bonus." He flicked his wrist, and the heavy golden scrolls floated effortlessly toward his students, hovering gently before each of them. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Now, what are you waiting for?! Activate them!" he yelled, his silver eyes burning with the anticipation of a general arming his best weapons.
Mirabella nodded. Pushing her hesitation aside, she placed her hand on the cold, surface of the golden scroll. Hitachi mirrored her action, resting his palm on the one hovering before him.
"The special thing about a Legendary-grade scroll," Hayatobi explained, crossing his massive arms over his chest as the ambient energy in the clearing began to swirl violently around the two teens, "is that it doesn’t just hand you a spell. It scans your consciousness, your bloodlines, your very personality... Then, it plucks from the ether the absolute best skill suited for your unique path. The best of the best! That’s the major difference it has from the lower-tier scrolls, which just randomly assign whatever generic skill they hold."
He watched proudly as the heavy golden scrolls shattered into thousands of blinding light fragments, which then rapidly merged into the chests of his two students.
"Complete," he nodded with a smirk, sensing the immediate, qualitative shift in their auras.
{DING!}
{Congratulations Host!!}
{Host has acquired a new skill: Echo of Frailty.}
Mirabella’s eyes widened. Hearing the ominous name of the skill, she quickly pulled up her status screen, staring at the base description in shock.
{Echo of Frailty - Base Description}
{Effect: Marks all enemies within a radius of 10 meters. The mark is applied directly to their souls, bypassing physical defenses. For the next 1 minute, all damage the marked targets take (from self or teammates) is multiplied by 2, and all outgoing damage they deal is reduced by 20%.}
{Cost: 200,000 Spirit Energy per use.}
{Cooldown: 5 minutes.}
{Grade: Legendary.}
Before she could even process how powerful the base version was, the System chimed again.
{Imperial Bloodline Resonance detected.}
’Time to see the maxed skill description,’ Mirabella thought, a cold, predatory smirk appearing on her face as her unique passive took effect.
{Skill: Echo of Frailty has been MAXED.}
{Echo of Frailty - MAXED}
{Effect: Marks all enemies within a radius of 500 meters. The mark is applied to their souls, making it completely unavoidable. For the next 10 minutes, all damage they take (from Host or teammates) is multiplied by 10, and all damage they deal is reduced by 90%. All base stats will also dynamically drop by 50%.}
{Cost: 100,000 Spirit Energy per use.}
{Cooldown: NONE.}
{Grade: Legendary (Ascended).}
’What the hell?!!’ Mirabella’s breath caught in her throat. ’Such a skill is crazy!! With what I am seeing, the number of enemies isn’t mentioned... meaning it’s unlimited enemies within a half-kilometer radius. And the other things... this is clearly a broken, game-ending skill.’ She held her jaw, her strategic mind rapidly calculating the horrific applications.
’It’s just like my personal attack multiplier, but this is different. If I use this on a massive target, all my teammates’ attacks will also be multiplied by ten against it. If that’s not crazy enough, the target’s stats are instantly halved, while their own attack power will be reduced by 90%... If before I was close to an immortal, now, I am practically an immortal field commander.’
She thought about the Glory Flag competition and the global hunt on Earth. With this skill, the entire Dragon Empire vanguard would become a ten-times more lethal force just by standing near her. She moved her gaze to Hitachi, whose eyes were currently closed shut as his own energy stabilized.
’I wonder what skill he gained...’ she mused. ’Maybe I can copy that legendary class skill and get even much stronger... Hehehe, it’s not a bad thing if I want to get stronger.’ She nodded, satisfied, and looked up at her Master Teacher.
"Master, we gained two new skills, what about you let us try them out right here?" she asked, her voice carrying a deceptive sweetness. "So you can also see it for yourself."
Hayatobi stared at her with a slight frown, seeing right through the sweet tone.
’This brat...’ he thought.
’If I agree, and she copied Hitachi’s skill with whatever broken replication ability she has, it will only make her stronger... But still, I want to see what these two actually gained.’ He sighed inwardly, acknowledging that checking their progress was necessary, and turned to Hitachi.
"Are you ok with this?" he asked.
Hitachi opened his eyes, which were no longer crimson. The Celestial Eyes were spinning with countless colors, a chaotic maelstrom of raw, legendary energy. Both Mirabella and Hayatobi were momentarily dumbfounded, staring at the terrifying display of pure power.
"I have no problem with that," Hitachi nodded his head, his voice deadpan despite the colorful inferno in his gaze.
Hayatobi sighed heavily, a mixture of exasperation and pride in his chest. ’This? He obviously knew about her copying ability, and actually agreed to this on purpose... Maybe there is something I am missing here about their dynamic.’ He turned his back on them and faced the edge of the dense, corrupted forest miles away, the natural border of the Valley of Death’s most dangerous territory.
"Open," he yelled, his voice slicing through the thick air.
Mirabella and Hitachi turned toward the direction of his shout, watching as a transparent, massive barrier—Hayatobi’s personal quarantine ward—split directly into two. From the dark opening, ten monstrously huge, five-headed dogs, standing three meters tall at the shoulder, shot out from it, their multiple jaws slavering. They charged towards the three humans with utter, feral bloodlust.
"Lv150 Five-headed dogs... These things are all over the Valley of Death," Hayatobi said casually, lowering his hand and abruptly closing the barrier behind the pack.
"Five each... Let’s see your new abilities at work."
